As a Marine doing a tour of Afghanistan, I thought I'd seen the horrors of life. But the horrors of war were nothing compared to the horror of losing my wife and daughter.
Six years ago a drunk driver took their lives, and I felt like he took mine as well. Ever since that day I swore to never let another woman get that close to me again. The pain was just too great.
But then I met Jenny -- and everything changed. "Never date a stripper." Those are the rules. But as an underground bareknuckle boxer, I've just about given up on rules.
Jenny
I'm sure you've heard it all before; the stripper who's working her way through college. Well I wish I could say it was that simple. I dance to support my two kids and make up for all the lost child support from their deadbeat dad.
To say he was abusive would be an understatement, and I had to get out of there to protect my family. I'll do whatever it takes for both of them. After him, I swore I'd never let another man into my life unless I was absolutely sure.
And then I met Ty. "Never date a guy from the club." Those are the rules we girls all know. But there's something about this guy...he's cocky, he's arrogant, but I feel something when he looks into my eyes. Something more...
FIGHTER is a stand alone romance with a guaranteed HEA, a bad boy alpha-male marine and a strong heroine. When they meet, sparks fly.
This is about the tortured soul of an ex-Marine who finds a little peace at a strip club of all places. Ty came home from serving over in Afghanistan to an even bigger nightmare and has shut his heart off from ever loving anyone again. He spends his time running a tattoo parlor and underground bare knuckle fighting. When you associate yourself with a bad crowd things tend to only get worse and that is what happened for Ty. The only problem is that sexy little thing he found at the club is now working her way into his life with her kids and two dogs. It wouldn’t be so bad but Ty also has himself in bed with some pretty bad people who are not above rigging fights and killing anyone who stand in their way. So what was it that Ty had come home to that would change his life the way it had and is Jenny enough to help Ty get over his past? Jenny was once married to an abuser but is a great mom to her two kids and will do anything to take care of them and protect them. Is she willing to let a guy she met at a strip club come into her life with all of his baggage and be around her kids? This story is full of some pretty heated sex between Ty and Jenny and it will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering if they can escape from their past and find a way to make things work in their future.
This book was provided as an ARC from the author for an honest review.
This review is from: Fighter: A Bad Boy Romance (Kindle Edition) I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. FIGHTER is an amazing stand alone romance, full of drama, action, intrigue, hot steamy sex, love, rules, different characters and a great HEA. Tyler and Jenny's story is sweet and inviting from the first page, really enjoyed, couldn't put it down until the last page. This's book number 3 I've read from Autumn and will not be my last, she's an awesome writer. Can't wait for more!!!
This is a stand alone, HEA book and the first I have read by Autumn Avery. It was an ok book with a unique story line. I enjoyed the interactions between Jenny & Ty, they had good banter that is pretty typical in the beginning stages of a relationship. However I think that more time could have been taken to develop the relationship between Jenny & Ty because it seemed a bit rushed. It bothered me that Jenny was a stripper who basically didn’t strip. It seemed very unrealistic to me to think that she worked at a strip club but almost never took her top off. It seemed to me that Jenny had issues dealing with her children and I would have liked to read more about the complications of having children (especially an autistic child) and trying to develop a new relationship. Ty was an interesting character, a guy who owned a tattoo shop that he somehow never went to (a detail that could have been left out) and an underground fighter. Ty lost his family years ago and has obviously been affected by this but it was hard for me to see him as a man who was once a responsible and respectable husband and father. I would have liked to see this part of him explored more in the story instead of focusing on his current life of underground fighting and poor decisions. Overall, it was ok and a short read but I was left feeling like it could have been so much more.
Received ARC for honest review. This is Autumn Avery's third book and it is great! I have read her two and really enjoyed them as well. In Fighter Jenny and Ty meet at a strip club where Jenny works. She is able to work the "champagne" room where men are looking more for someone to talk to and not someone to strip for them. She doesn't want to be on stage doing that. In fact she would rather not do that at all but because of her deadbeat and abusive ex-husband she finds herself being the sole supporter of herself and her two kids. Ty is a man haunted by his past. He has served in the military and all that comes from that as well as losing his wife and daughter years ago to a drunk driver. Both Jenny and Ty have rules they have chosen to follow so they are not hurt again. They both fight the attraction to one another, though they find it hard. Ty immerses himself in Jenny's life when he is forced to hide from a criminal who feels he owns Ty and can make him do his bidding. Jenny wants to shield her kids from Ty but realizes her kids adore Ty. Her two large dogs even love him. Jenny and Ty are destined for an HEA and boy to they get one. Get this book and read it! You will love it!
First time reading a book from this author. Totally enjoyed reading this book. I would definitely read future books from this author.
Ty an ex marine now tattoo artist goes to a strip club with his buddies to have a good time. He never thought he would find love again. Until he stumbled into Jenny a stripper from the club he's at.
Jenny is a single struggling mom trying to take of her kids. Jenny is not just any type of stripper. She's a women with moral and class who works in the champagne room at the strip club. Later that night leaving the club Jenny was in a bad situation where Ty helped rescue her. Jenny never thought she would ever see Ty after that night until he showed up at her doorstep the next day. So during this journey Ty and Jenny find themselves needed one another and finding out the they have more than attraction for each other.
It was different. A girl who works in a strip club, although she rarely strips (go figure?) and a guy who is in the strip club. He's a vet and lost his family due to a drunk driver, gave up his MMA fighting career and now runs a struggling tattoo parlor and fights in the underground illegally. Little disappointed when he robs a pawn shop with his friends. At one point he says 'ex-wife' not wife is lost by drunk driver. I think that must have been a typo.
There's a scene where bad guys looking for him come to her apartment and tie her up, while her kids are in there rooms and never come out and her two pit bull dogs she has to protect her are missing from the story. .......I guess they just disappeared?
Jenny is a single mom, with a jerk of an ex and works at a strip club. When Tyler went out with his friends to a strip club he didn't think he would meet someone who would change his life, until he saw Jenny. Jenny thinks that after Tyler saves her from a customer and takes her home she thinks that is the last time she will see him, until he shows up at her apartment needing help. Jenny and her kids give Tyler the strength to want to overcome his past and look towards a future he thought was gone. I loved the latest from Autumn Avery. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh Tyler and Jenny, what a sweet, beautiful, sexy story. Both fighting battles in their own way and when they meet, little do they realise how their lives will change. Both hurt in different ways with previous relationships, vowing never to get attached again. But Tyler and Jenny were just meant to be. A story of drama, mafia links, threats, fights, revenge but also family, love, hopes, dreams and so much more. A really good story that makes you want to fight for them all the way. Loved it.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review* This was a very nice change from the billionaire \innocent girl story line. Ty is the epitome of antihero and Jenny was one tough cookie. They both have sad and difficult back stories, they seem like an unlikely match but it turns out they are perfect for each other. The story moves quickly and leads to a HEA. Totally enjoyed and recommend this book.
I loved this book. Ty & Jenny have both been through so much, and have set rules for themselves. The rules went right out the window, as soon as they met. I love how Ty just control of everything in Jenny's life. I also love how her kids liked him too. The ending I did not see coming. If you have not read this book, you need to one click today. You will not be disappointed and the chemistry between these two is off the charts..
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Full of hot sex, drama and a variety of different characters. Ty and Jenny are not ordinary people, she is a tough single mother, and he is a lost soul criminal. Both are very likable people who deserve to be free and happy. This is a well written and intriguing story that is enjoyable to read.
This book had potential but I don't know what went wrong. After less than a week they are in love? Plus he is like a teenage alpha not a male alpha. This book is not bad and I would have given it 3 1/2 stars. I just wish they had more time together and the end with the mom was a little to wrapped up together. This book just needed more spark.
This was just an ok read for me. I really liked the basis of the plot line, however, the story and characters felt like they needed a little further development as the story often felt rushed and like it was packed with "situation after situation". The story definitely had some hot and steamy scenes but I would have liked their relationship of the H/h to have some backbone to it.
