What would you do to be free?

Trapped in a home full of rage and violence, Jonah King has had to fight for every scrap of good that life has ever tossed his way. But will it ever be enough?

Will he?

Sometimes, the lines are blurred between good and evil, love and hate, and when Jonah meets Autumn Garrett, he finds that he’s not the only one fighting for salvation.

Can love this raw be real? More importantly, will they survive to find out?

Gritty and emotional, Blurred Lines is a gut-wrenching, heartrending roller coaster ride through the ups and downs, twists and turns of life, showing us that the most brilliant beauty can be found in the darkest reaches of despair. More than Romeo and Juliet retold, this is no fairy tale. This is survival at the most basic level—the heart.

***Reader Warning*** This book touches on serious issues, meant for mature readers. My characters may be seventeen going on eighteen, but they deal with things far past their years. There are major themes of abuse, as well as some foul language and sexual content. Please read at your own discretion.
Also, Blurred Lines can stand alone, but to avoid any big spoilers, I’d highly recommend reading Lines in the Sand and Two Blue Lines first. Happy Reading!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Tackling the issues of domestic violence and physical abuse is hard at any age, but when it involves teens it makes the story all the more heartbreaking. Each family in this story has varying degrees of success or failure which leads to episodes of violence toward the wives and children.

What we learn is that domestic violence transcends socio-economic factors and impacts each family in horrible and tragic ways. Jonah's older brother died after a bar fight and Autumn's father kicked her brother Gavin out of the house for standing up to him. Each teen is older and wiser than their years suggest, and they do their best to keep their relationship from becoming tainted by the anger that surrounds them.

As their romance progresses, both Jonah and Autumn have to face hard truths about their families and whether or not their happiness is worth sacrificing the people who love them.

A very realistic story in which the author takes a heartbreaking and heartfelt issue and pends a story that I think every teen should read.

I have been waiting for Jonah's story since he first appeared in this series. I could tell he was going to be one tortured soul just by the glimpses we were given in Reed's books. I knew he was going to need a very patient and understanding girl to show him he was deserving of real love. Autumn is that and more. We knew Jonah had a very difficult home life, made even more difficult by the loss of his brother in the last book. I was not prepared for just how difficult that home life was going to be. Even though this is a YA book, it still deals with the very grown up subject of domestic violence. My heart ached for Jonah and his siblings every time I read about the horrors they lived through at home. And before you think Autumn is going to be all sunshine and rainbows, her home life is just as difficult as Jonah's. She's dealing with an older brother who has been kicked out of the house and told to never contact her. Both Jonah and Autumn are afraid to tell the other just how bad their upbringing has been, thinking it will chase the other away. Will they be able to put it all out there and find their way to a happily ever after? The author does a great job with the story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. I would highly highly recommend it.

Still wiping tears. This is a real story. It's beautiful, It's tragic, It's scary, but It's amazing in it's truths.
YA is not my first genre of choice but I do like the ability of Ms Montgomery to delve into taboo topics, bring them to life and open eyes to the things that happen in every neighborhood. While reading the story, it causes my inner conscience to fight, to say no this is all make believe and doesn't really happen. How can anyone be treated like this and by thier family member to boot. But the cold reality is that it does happen, and I hope by bringing it to light may save one person from being harmed, may encourage one battered woman to pick up the phone and save herself and her family. I applaud the author and her ability to bring a sad subject to life, do it in a way that gets deep down in your heart and stays with you forever. And to be able to do all that while still entertaining the mind with a beautiful love story of two kids with nothing in life but each other and a promise. Truly an amazing read.

This series tackles some really heavy situations. This book was no exception. Emotionally charged, heartbreaking and full of hope all at the same time. Really beautifully written.

Autumn has the perfect family. At least in public. But the horrible secrets that go on behind closed doors are wearing her down. All she wants is to get out. But how will she ever?

Jonah thinks of himself as a nobody. Someone from the wrong family. But when he sees Autumn he wants to believe different. And her love makes him feel like a better man. Until turmoil at home...his and hers...bring them apart. Will they be able to break the cycles of heartache and become happy and free together? Or will the situations turn tragic, keeping them apart forever?

I'm so happy to get Jonah's story. I was so waiting for this one. This one really hit me in the heart. It has very sad tone, but along with that the feeling of hope. Both Jonah and Autumn have not so great home lives, but once these two meet it's like fate deemed them ready for a does of happiness. Of course the road to it is not going to be an easy one. I highly enjoyed this young adult story. I don't read a lot of young adult, but SC Montgomery is one of my faves. I enjoyed getting to see how Reed and Melissa are doing with little Lettie. As I read this one you can see the strength both Jonah and Autumn gain from their relationship. With life throw road block after road block will these two their HEA?

He has been dealt such a hard life, I so wanted things to get better for him. Autumn's life is not easy either. Jonah and Autumn's coming together story is must read!!

SC Montgomery has such amazing writing skills!! Everything just flows so wonderfully. These characters are actually people to me. I have grown so attached!!! I am praying there will be more in the series!!! I never want to let these books go! I highly recommend them!!

Blurred lines is the third book in the Crossing the Line series. In this book we get a closer look at Jonah's life. In books one and two they hinted at all the struggles Jonah faced. In book three we are in his senior year and now we are seeing what his life is like. Johan always looked for a way to escape and make each day bearable.
Autumn is new in town and is not looking forward to being the new girl her senior year. She is hoping to make at least lone friend.
Little did Johan and Autumn know they lived similar lives. But meeting each other they made a connection while keeping their home lives secret.
Will Johan and Autumn make it through their senior year?

I had been waiting for Jonah's story! Jonah worked his way into my heart from the very start of this series, and I loved getting to know him more. Jonah and Autumn have a lot in common, but neither of them realize it at first. Their love is sweet and so much more than a typical high school romance. A highly emotional story about true love and the lengths someone would go to in order to protect those they love. An amazing book! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another amazing YA book from S.C. Montgomery! She writes in such a way that you can feel what the characters are feeling. Tears were flowing when Jonah was finally able to stand up for what was right and he protected his siblings, and such feelings I felt when Autumn went through all the things she did. They were both so brave in living through the horrors.

This book will pull on your heart strings. I bet you won't be able to put it down. The ending is the best part!

SC Montgomery does it again. She wrote a wonderful story that does deal with a tough subject but it is handled in a tactful way. Jonah and Autumn lead similar lives but are afraid to share with each other what goes on at home. They are like two soulmates that each didn't know existed.

It can be read as a standalone but the other books in the series add to your reading experience. I highly recommend them.

Another amazing story in this series. I have read the entire thing and absolutely loved these characters. Jonah story is horribly sad, as is Autumn's. Yet these characters find the will to persevere. This story will make you cry, but also warm your
heart.

Blurred Lines by S.C. Montgomery....Wow, such a tough emotional story that you can not put down. Have your tissues ready, Jonah and Autumn life's are so much alike and neither one knows it. This is the first book in this series I have read, so it can be a standalone, but I will be reading the others. I highly recommend this book to anyone, just know it deals with tough issues, but author does a beautiful job writing this story. I was given a complimentary book in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first book I've read in this series and it works well as a standalone. It is a well written, touching story. The characters are well developed, multifaceted and easy to connect with. Their lives are very similar in many ways yet neither knows how much. You will be so drawn in by their heart wrenching stories that you won't want to put it down. I highly recommend this book but warn that it deals with a serious issue.

As this was a very difficult story to get through it was a touching story to read. Both Jonah and Autumn growing up had difficult things to over come and become better for their experiences. I felt it was well written with good character development. A well told story that tackles really heavy situations.
