Join Liz, Roger, her four legged friends, Winston and Brandy Boy, as well as the quirky characters she meets as she searches for murderers. Along the way you'll encounter lots of dogs, food, and some mouth-watering recipes.
I had read the first book Murder In Cottage #6 a few back. That was my introduction to this author. Then I got sidetracked to the Cedar Bay series and the Cottonwood Series. Now, I’m back to this series. I love it!! I this reading this bundled has gotten me to the point I can continue to read this series and stay caught up!!
I love the characters because they are quite a contrast from the other series in a since. Yes, the main character does cook and have a dog for protection and solve mysteries. But the supporting characters are different. The sheriff is stupid, and makes you want to just slap him silly!! I loved all six books..
These books weren't bad They kept your interest and are you want to read the next one. I just wish they didn't refer to things that happened previously so often.
OMG!! How is it possible for a female author to write books about a female protagonist that does so many stupid things and needs to be rescued? This is not the image to project if you care about showing a strong female. What a waste of time!
Each mystery is very intriguing and a page turner. Liz owner of a Spa retreat, is a chef and has a intuitions gift that helps her solve mystery. There is a wonderful romance story entertwined with the murders
In this series, the characters are the stars and the mysteries drive the story but are often not too hard to guess who done it. However, I like middle aged Liz Lucas and her husband Roger as well as the characters and dogs of Red Cedar.
I have read a lot of Dianne Harman's books and I truly enjoy her way of writing. She isn't vulgar or hateful in them. They are well written and fun loving, as well as a good mystery. If you like a good clean read, and love dogs, you will enjoy her books.
I enjoyed most of the books. I didn't finish one because of some of the comments. But no curse words. At times Liz wants to do things that I think others should do.
I must admit that I hadn't really read much that Dianne Harman had written until a couple years ago when I started her Whales & Tales series because they had cats in them, I really enjoyed them but didn't read any of her other books. Last summer my arthritis became so bad I was forced to make changes in my life and become quite a bit less physically active so I became an even more avid reader, from 4-6 books a week to at least one per day and often more. That's when I branched into her other books. Let me say I recommend all of them. This collection is fantastic and I love Liz and Roger, not to mention all the crazy and quirky characters you come to know and love in these books. There are recipes at the end of every story and some have become family favorites requested by many. I have recommended this collection to many of my friends and I recommend them to you too.
Kindle Unlimited or freebie day depending, Liz Lucas Cozy Mystery Read these a bit back and remember a great deal of what I read {not titles so yeah problem} but just seems as if there really is nothing new under the sun type thing, maybe too many cozies, something, but these were not as good as I remembered. The other 3 set, Blue Coyote Series was too disjointed with too many people/viewpoints and things going on. Tea Party Teddy was gross.
Liz Lucas Mystery, Blue Coyote set, lost of Cozy Bay mysteries, Tea Party Teddy, they all suffer from the same issues as does Tea Party Teddy {2 at this time which was basically unbearable to read and with no real redeeming features}, others of the same type.
CHaracters not well-developed. Conversations very stilted. CHaracters keep saying the name of the person they're speaking to with each utterance. It was almost unreadable. The murders are improbable.
The owner of a spa and lodge finds herself solving murders - because they involve her lodge or involve a friend, etc. The local police chief can not and does not want to solve crimes, just write speeding tickets to tourists. She gains a rep for solving murders. What I like is that these books take us along on the journey of solving these crimes. We know as much as she does, for the most part. There are multiple suspects, of course, but the process is natural, not the "gather the suspects for the grand reveal and the previously unknown clue". And there are dogs, big, beautiful, special dogs.
