Audiobook review. The story really gave the characters the opportunity to develop and grow individually and as a unit. Frankly, I was surprised by the very slow build despite the first meeting of Trinity and Walker having been when they locked lips as strangers in a bar. I think with that kind of introduction, I was expecting it to be a quick burn. Their personalities and demeanor was mature. They are done playing games and are ready to settle down with someone. They seem unwilling to give time to relationships that don't show promise in achieving this end. I enjoyed the family dynamics with Walker. His mother's intuition was a great way for us to delve deeper into what was going on with him. I liked the role that the family bond played and how it was addressed. Trinity was Walker's opposite when it comes to family and it helped shape who she was: imperfections and all. Although I was frustrated by her way of thinking sometimes, I respect the fact that it felt distinctive to her. The pacing was good and the writing was excellent. The narrators did a great job. If you're looking for a simmering romance, this is a great option.

I love it when I start a book without any expectations and end up devouring it in one sitting!

I didn’t know what to expect about this new contemporary by Lorelei James. I haven’t read much of her work except for a handful of her Blacktop Cowboys series but the few I’ve read I enjoyed her writing very much and have good memories of sizzling chemistry and lovable characters.

Just What I Needed is not exception to the above and is the sort of story that grips you right in if you’re in the mood for a light and fun romance.

I could identify myself with the heroine a lot and I think that’s what won me over.

The book starts on a lovely meet cute, told in the heroine’s POV and let me tell you that’s something I love in my books, feeling like the heroine is talking to me. I loved her right away, her sass, her little streak of crazy talk was enough to tell me I was going to enjoy this book. And I did, very much so.

Trinity Carlson is a young artist who’s had a bad day. So what’s a girl to do on a shittiest day? She has drinks with her best friend, naturally! Well that is until the best friend gets herself picked up by a gorgeous Irish rugbyman, I mean who could blame her for abandoning Trinity to her crappy margarita?
“Good Lord. There was no way to miss him with that massively tall body. And check out that gorgeous beard. He angled his head giving me a killer view of his strong jawline and high cheekbones. Oh hell yeah. That was some serious sexy right there—a guy confident enough to pull off a man bun.

Enters the scene an apparition. Hmm hmm. Walker Lund. A contemporary viking sporting both a beard and a man-bun. Be still my heart.
Trinity herself feeling so enthralled she’s compelled to kiss the guy, a complete stranger! But that could be the margaritas doing. Right?

Their meeting was downright cute and I just loved the banter between them. Lorelei James really carved here a great set of characters, both very attaching, both unique and I fell under the charm of the crazy overbearing Lund Family. Selka, the mother and maybe the most overbearing of all, is just the cherry on top in this story, with her approximative English and her continuous mix ups of American expression, she was hilarious and had me laugh out loud more than once! I could really hear her strong Sweden accent through the pages.
“I don’t get men’s fascination with all things ball related.”
“I could try to explain it to you but I don’t know if a conversation about my balls is appropriate since we just met.”

Now let’s talk about what’s really of interest in this story… Yes, the Northern Viking, Walker Lund. That man was just perfection. Gorgeousness and sex appeal aside, he was the perfect balance of alpha and beta male. Or dare I say a patient alpha male, does such a thing exist?
“If I saw her bare ass sashaying up the stairs, I’d hike her hips into the air and slam into her right there.

His patience and support toward Trinity were close to devotion and the strikes of possessiveness touch from insanity but oh how I loved his demonstrations of love.

Just What I Needed was effectively just that. The perfect balance between love and lust, a slow burn romance, charming secondary characters, and sizzling chemistry between 2 characters. I could not put it down once I started and felt like it was nearly not enough when I reached the end of the book.
“I slammed the door shut and we fell into a dark void where we were nothing but sighs and moans, heated skin and frantic movements.”

Just what I Needed is book 2 in the “What I Need” series and can be read as a standalone. I’ve yet to read the first book, but having met the Lund family, I won’t be waiting too long before setting my sights on another Lund brother or cousin… Those modern Vikings are highly addictive!

I have a problem, and his name is Walker. It’s a problem because HE’S NOT IN MY PANTS RIGHT NOW! I’ve been indifferent of the long hair/man bun. I can usually take it or leave it, but in this case, I’ll take it!

My Walker:

Norway based Naval Officer and @betsafe ambassador Lasse L. Matberg (@lasselom) spent his 2015 being voted the official

More Walker...He's just....UNF!:

Lasse L. Matberg. This beautiful man is an officer in the Norwegian Army. Oh, did I mention that he's also 6'6: ">

I cannot get enough of Walker:

Lasse showed his butch side with a snap of him wood chopping, with the caption: 'Hit the #...:

My Trinity:

Trendy Medium Hairstyles for Women (3):

Walker works in construction. Yeah, can he get any hotter or more perfect?! I think not. He is actually from a wealthy family, but he is the rugged man in his family and the glue that keeps everyone together. He is the good guy in the family. I usually lean more toward the bad boy/asshole characters, but I DARE YOU TO RESIST WALKER. It’s not possible.

I loved all of Walker’s brothers and sisters and cousins, constantly ragging on each other. They were so much fun. I love books with close-knit families. It just makes the book that much more cozy.

Trinity is adorable and spunky. She is an artist, but she isn’t up in the clouds. She knows who she is, and she knows what she wants. She is a little flighty but in a charming way. She tries to warn Walker that she is a lot of work, but he is the perfect man up for the challenge of all that is Trinity, and he takes pleasure in every single moment.

”I like that you’re warning me up front that you’re going to be a lot of work.”

“You are?”

“Yep. It’ll give me a chance to prove my awesome work ethic.”

I LOVED the meet-cute in this book. I don’t want to give it away, but I was sold on this book from the beginning and it kept my attention through the whole book. Some books start to drag for me around the 50-60% mark, but not this one. This is such a FEEL-GOOD book with all the smiles and giggles and swoons. There is not much drama, which I love.

”You have any idea how hard I’m digging on you right now?”

“Digging on me,” I repeated. “Is that a construction worker’s come-on?”

Walker, Trinity, and this whole book is endearing with the perfect slow burn. I love Lorelei’s writing style. It’s no-nonsense, straight to the heart of the story. Her dialogue makes me smile throughout the whole book. I have read a few of her cowboy series, and enjoyed the heat in her erotic books. I wouldn’t put this book in the erotic category, but it is just as hot!

Then I pursed my lips around the straw and sucked. “Want a taste?” His eyes went molten. He leaned in, resting his forearm on the brick wall above my head.

“No. I’m thinking I’ll get a little lust drunk just watching you.”

“Watching me what?”

“Lick. Suck. And swallow.”

This is my first book that I’ve read in this series. I didn’t read the first one yet (What You Need), but I definitely want to go back and read it.

“How about we have a drink and you can tell me the real reason you used your tongue to introduce yourself instead of a handshake?”

I adored this book!!

Walker Lund is sexy as hell with his viking look, the man bun, the beard and add the fact that he’s a carpenter that works with his hands for a living and I just want to lick him like a lollipop. Throw in the fact that he doesn’t have commitment issues, and he’s the perfect hero. Except that he hasn’t met the right woman, until Trinity walks right up to him in a bar and kisses him.

Trinity Carlson is an artist. She’s temperamental, passionate and misunderstood by most. She’s had an awful day, first she lost the commission job she had hoped to get, and then she runs into her cheating ex at a bar, with the woman he cheated with. So what is a desperate woman to do but to lie and say she’s waiting for her boyfriend. And as soon as she sees Viking god Walker, she makes her move. Soon all she sees is Walker and all he sees is Trinity.

Has fate finally given them both a break, giving them just the person they have always wanted/needed, or is this all too good to be true?

“Some assholes want what other men have and I will fuck them up if they don’t stop eyeballing you.”

I loved both Walker and Trinity. I loved how caveman-like he acted with her, how he understood her like no one else ever had, and how she saw how lonely he was. I loved their instant attraction, and the fact that the sexy times were very slow building, which just upped the intensity of their chemistry. Their romance was sweet, sexy and romantic, just like I love my contemporary romances. I like that there wasn’t any unnecessary angst with OW or OM, and that it was just two people falling in love and trying to make their relationship work.

I am so loving this series. I love the Lund family, all the cousins and brothers and sisters, and I just loved Walker’s parents. They were so awesome. There was just the right balance of romance and family intrigue to make me invested in all of the Lund members, and I can’t wait to read more of the books in this series. Ooh and I loved that we got the HEA for Brady and Lennox from the first book!! Yay!

“Because now that I have you, sweetheart, I ain’t ever letting you go. I’ve been waiting for you … for what seems like forever.”

This is a wonderful contemporary romance with sexy and sweet romance, great characters and a awesome family. Highly recommended.

Just What I Needed was fun, flirty and oh-so-hot! But it had a serious side to it as well. Trinity’s issues were more at the forefront, but Walker had some struggles as well. I loved that these two just clicked and got each other so well, were a listening and supportive ear through their trials.

At first Trinity’s manic, impulsive behavior had me wanting to shake some sense into her, but she grew on me. She had a zest for life and a fun sense of humor, a believable personality for an artist. Also, Walker was just the right fit for her and vice versa. Trinity struggled with self-doubt, thanks to her upbringing (horrid father and stepmother!), but she didn’t let it totally win. Even when Trinity made a stupid decision or assumption, she’d eventually think it through logically, and come to her senses, and after she was forthright with Walker about her feelings every time. I’m glad I stuck with the story past a couple of Trinity’s knee-jerk reactions, because I really enjoyed this romance! Every time these two were around each other sparks flew and the temperature definitely soared!

While I had some initial reservations about Trinity, Walker was an absolute dream throughout the book! He was sweet, hot, and sexy with touch of possessiveness, ready to stand up for Trinity at every turn! I was pleased that Trinity felt the same sort of protective instincts for Walker, too.

Walker’s mom, Selka, is a woman I’d want in my corner! Both Walker and Trinity’s happiness seemed very important to her and her husband. The family was just the right amount of fun craziness! I’d love to know what happened with Annika and “Santa”.

Lorelei James took a straightforward romance and made it unique, and fun!

This is second in a series and while you don't need to read the first for this one to be perfectly comprehensible, I'd recommend you do.

Okay, I admit I had to edit out the man bun and every reference to "lumbersexual" in my head. So not my thing. Other than that, Walker is one of the best leading men in romance and worth reading the book for all on his own. Sigh. I love those strong, capable, caring guys who are kind without being doormats and who want nothing more than the right person to make them whole. And Trinity not only gives him the light and nurture he needs, but her need for his kind of stability and care makes them so much the perfect fit that I just couldn't put this down.

There's a kind of insta-love/fate thing going on in this story and Trinity has some hang-ups that only work in anticipation of them working things out (i.e. I could roll with it because I can see that they'll be perfect together and that they will eventually have the kind of relationship that will make her insecurities inconsequential) so the story isn't without flaws that may tank other readers. But I find that I was just so into their story that it just worked for me.

A note about Steamy: Only one explicit sex scene and not terribly long at that. So the lower end of my steam tolerance. And I really liked how long they delayed sexual gratification in order to build the emotional trust that they needed (Trinity, in particular, needed to learn to trust their relationship). I really liked how well that was handled...

This was a fun read, playful and light. I really enjoyed it!

Walker and Trinity had a cute first meeting that had me smiling. I liked the flow of their relationship, it seemed rather instant but in a way that is full of excitement when you first meet someone and want to spend all your time with them. They were so sweet together, I liked their interactions. I loved Walker. He was so kind, caring, understanding, and patient. Trinity was a quirky chick and had some issues with self doubt but I loved how positive Walker was with her, really grounding her. I liked watching Trinity deal with her issues and really grow. I loved that this story was told from dual POV's so you could really see where Walker and Trinity's heads were at and what they were struggling with. Definitely a fast paced relationship but not overly done.

I loved Walkers family and how a side story played out even though I wanted to smack a his brothers and cousins upside the head a few times. I'm a sucker for any type of male bonding moments so I loved when that happened. Walker’s mother is awesome, she's unintentionally funny and full of odd, but sound wisdom. I loved her in the first book as well.

I enjoyed the start but I don't feel like I was really invested until maybe 30%. I liked Walker and Trinity from the beginning but they really grew on me making me like them more and more. There are some ups and downs throughout, solid middle with a good build and a great end. I thought the writing was really good. Enough character development that you know them but not super in depth.

It was a really great story, I really enjoyed the plot. Interesting characters, so likable and sweet! It was light and entertaining.

The second installment in Lorelei James’s Need You series is as well written as all of her other books. From the opening scene, we get tons of insight into the personalities of both Walker and Trinity with a really charming introduction. Their first moments together are unique, funny and make for a great “how’d you two meet” story.

There are so many layers to this story. Interestingly, neither shares who they really are with the other. They both fear their family connections will negatively affect the other’s impression of them. You can guess how well that goes over.

Walker and Trinity are complex, interesting and a bit damaged. Walker is so good at dealing with Trinity’s artistic personality. He’s caring and giving even when what she needs is time alone to work. More than once, Walker puts a stop to things, when Trinity wouldn’t have, because he knows she has a project to finish. What guy does that? Only a guy with Walker’s character and sensitivity. James does a great job at creating a man who’s sweet and in-touch with his woman’s feelings but remains strong and independent.

Trinity isn’t as damaged as she thinks but her father and stepmother did a real job on her ego. She comes from a family of means who’ve neglected to give her any emotional support. She’s continued this in her adult life by choosing friends where treat her much the same. Even her chosen profession offers too much opportunity of negative feedback. Part of coming into herself is learning when to discard people who treat her poorly. Walker comes from a family that’s both affluent and loving but he gets lost in the shuffle among the many overachieving siblings and cousins. The two quickly find they can give each other the love and support each needs but in typical real-life fashion, they have to first deal with issues that threaten to destroy their fresh relationship.

Their chemistry is off the charts hot from the first meeting but they don’t jump into bed too quickly. It was refreshing that they took time to get to know each other though it’s not really a conscious decision they make. The suspense and build up are really sexy.

I think there are a lot or Trinitys out there and far too few Walkers. That's what love about romance novels is the belief that there is a great partner out there for each of us. James always gives us a happily ending after wringing our emotions dry getting to it!

ugh! this book really throws me from my peace. the story is horrible. dragging. not even slow burn.

the chemistry between the characters are nowhere ti be seen. but there is a lot of commotion of bartering lunch dinner and date. but nothing happens.

walker is irritating. not even alpha male. trinity... is just 1 dimension of character. she is lack of self confidence in everything.

not for me.

Just What I Needed is a lovely contemporary romance that made my heart happy and my world a better place. I love a sexy story about finding the one that completes you when you’re not even looking.

Trinity is an artist who has this amazingly creative mind. She is one of my favorite heroine’s of all time. She’s quirky and genuine with a dash of neurosis. I am not sure that I have ever related so much to a heroine as I do Trinity. She is very real. I adored her from the moment we meet her in chapter 1.

Walker is just… SWOON… I love him! He is one hard-working, hot-looking, sexy-ass man who knows how to take care of others. He is the best kind of people. He is successful on his own merit. The way he embraces all of Trinity and her idiosyncrasies is so refreshing and beautiful.

Miss James writes amazing characters in a beautiful story about not giving up and about accepting all of ourselves. We all have our own quirks and issues. That’s a part of life. I loved how these characters were so real and decided not to lose out on each other because of certain tendencies.

Just What I Needed is book 2 in Lorelei’s The Need You Series. It can be read as a standalone, however, I think you’ll fall in love with the Lund family as much as I have and want to start with book 1.

When I heard that Lorelei James was switching gears into different genres I got pretty excited to see what she would come up with. I have NOT been disappointed.
I fell in love with the quirky Lund family in What You Need, and hoped to hell this series will run its full course.
In this book we get to meet Walker, the self proclaimed black sheep. Insert Trinity, the aloof artist, and together they struggle with finding out how to manage a real relationship and discover that they are exactly what the other one needs.
These two have taken up residence in my top 5 of favorite contemporary couples. I will definitely be reading this story over and over again.

These Lunds are killing me! They're so wonderfully lovable, so endearingly human, and so full of heart that I keep losing my own heart to them over and over again.

I crazy adored Walker and Trinity. It took me a little bit to warm up to the story—I mean, it starts off with a bang and hooked me immediately, but for whatever reason. I didn't open my heart to Walker and Trinity immediately. I always approach these "billionaire love stories" with a bit of skepticism, so I feel like the author needs to work extra hard to get me to buy in and Ms. James did exactly that. I wasn't kidding about these Lunds (and their lovely ladies) being so endearingly human. I completely related to both Walker and Trinity and wholly enjoyed the slow build of their romance.

That's right—it starts off with a bang, but builds slowly after that. Trinity and Walker are both a little wounded emotionally, and are a little hesitant to go all in. The build is sweet and adorable, the sexual tension is palpable, and the pay-off is fantastic. There are a couple little twists and turns that I wasn't expecting but kept me on my toes and thoroughly entertained. And, of course, the Lund family. They're a little crazy (Selka Lund, in particular, is a personal favorite), a little rowdy, and full of warm familial affection.

Just What I Needed stands on its own as a quirky, sweet, sexy second installment in Ms. James's Need You series. If you haven't met the Lunds yet, you're missing out! While completely satisfied and heart-happy with the resolution of Trinity and Walker's story, I'm left hungry for more (this book set up some future storylines that I am super anxious to get my hands on!) of this fantastic series! ~ Shelly, 4.5 stars

Sometimes you don’t realize just what you need until you read it, experience, see it… Just What I Needed by Lorelei James was just what I needed to pull me out of a bit of a funk. I loved Trinity and Walker from their first meet-cute at the bar, when Trinity lays a heart-pounding, lip lock on Walker before she even knows his name, right through to the end.

Trinity Carlson is having a god awful day—and it just gets worse when she lays eyes on her cheating ex and his new girlfriend. Walker Lund was just minding his own business, looking for a night out with his family, when he locks eyes with Trinity and all hell breaks loose.

Trinity and Walker are two very independent individuals, hell bent on forging their own way in the world. Walker is the only Lund who’s not involved in the family business—he started his own company, thank you very much…and is a very successful builder/rehabber. Trinity is an artist—one whose talents are so broad, she’s able to bridge her work across multiple mediums—oils, pen and ink, charcoal, clay—to create beautiful art.

Walker and Trinity just “get” each other—both understand that their work is their life, their craft, and that they can get a bit lost in it. And they both understand the loneliness and solitude that their craft can bring too.

I found myself rooting for Trinity and Walker so hard. I loved their witty banter—how she gave it right back to him, just as good as he gave it to her. I loved her naïveté regarding his family—and the hilarity that ensued when she met the Lund collective for the first time!

And I loved Walker and his interactions with his parents, siblings and cousins. Their family dynamic is so powerful—I found myself laughing, angry, and crying all within a few pages. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

Oh my gosh!!! I loved this book. LOVED! I was in the mood for a light-hearted, fun contemporary romance, and Lorelei James delivered perfectly. I really enjoyed the first book in the Need You series, but Just What I Needed is definitely my favorite of the series so far. The hero is swoony and perfect, the heroine is down-to-earth and quirky, and the romance between them is so freaking sweet! My heart was seriously so happy with this book. I highly recommend this one for those who love contemporary romances!

“From the moment I saw you, I felt that same unexplainable pull.”

Artist Trinity Carlson has just lost a commission and she’s turned to a dive bar to drown out her misery. But even there she can’t catch a break, because she spots her ex and the girl he was cheating on with. Things turn around when Trinity catches the eye of a gorgeous, bearded man – and she literally walks up to him to give this stranger a kiss. But once they sit down and start a conversation, they find out their connection isn’t just on a physical level, and she leaves him her number with hope for more.

I thought I was totally over the lumbersexual thing, but Lorelei James has proved me wrong with Walker Lund. This man is just… perfect! He’s sweet, patient, considerate – all things that mesh perfectly with an artist who has her ups and downs and will sometimes spend days in her artist zone. Walker considers himself the black sheep of the family since he doesn’t work at the Lunds’ billion-dollar company, even though he co-owns a construction company. He’s that rare type of hero who wants to find love, and he has hopes of creating a family of his own. He’s sexy as hell and very much determined to win over Trinity, the woman he wants to build a family with – I loved how single-minded he was about her!

You make me happier than anyone I’ve ever met. When I’m with you, for the first time in my life I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Trinity and Walker’s romance was heart-warming and had me entertained from start to finish. It’s a total feel-good read – I adored the main characters and the Lund family is such a hoot. I’m really hoping that we’ll get stories for the rest of the family (especially Jaxson!) because I don’t want to let go of them just yet! The only thing I wish there was more of? Steam. It’s pretty light in this book, even less than I feel like there was in the previous one. Still, the chemistry between the main characters is fantastically written, and I’d still recommend this book even if you like steamy reads like I do. It’s such a great romance – I loved it!

I loved how this story began and the way it highlights how quirky our heroine is. Do you ever have a strong impulse to touch, lick or um kiss something? How about sauntering up to a guy at a bar, and place a red-hot kiss on him? That is exactly what Trinity did. The two connect but she ends up giving him her old disconnected telephone number and he thinks her name is Amelia. Ooops! Yep, did I mention Trinity is a refreshingly quirky? She is also a fuller figured heroine who felt incredibly genuine.

Walker Lund cannot stop thinking about the girl who kissed him, even if he is pissed about the bad number. I adored Walker from the onset. He is not a part of the family business and co-owns a construction company. I love a man in jeans who works with his hands. Our hero is the go to guy for his siblings and cousins making him especially charming.

Fate intervenes and they begin a delicious, slow-burning romance. I loved the slow build; the heated kisses, banter, and insightful conversations. Friends, family and Trinity’s quirks made for some interesting situations. James slowly turned up the heat, allowing us to enjoy the dance before these two finally tumbled. It was incredibly sexy and worth the wait. We get a little drama, but I enjoyed the way James combined growth and family interventions to bring this couple together again.

I adore Walker’s mother and laughed at her conversations with her son and of course Trinity. Walker is a one woman, family man and he really falls for Trinity. I love that he gets her, does not want to change her and willingly gives her space. These two had fantastic chemistry and had me rooting for them. I love when that happens.

Readers looking for a series surrounding family with heat will enjoy Just What I Needed and Need You series. Each of these books can work as standalone, but I like getting to know all the players.

Melt your kindle moments laced with heart, family and fun make Just What I Need a fantastic beach read.

Im a bit torn on how to rate this book, maybe a 3.5 rating..

I quite liked the beginning of the book, Trinity was quirky, the dialogue was funny and the storyline quite fun. But the book started to lose me probably around mid point. It started to get repetitive and less funny. It was kind of too insta-love ish.

Walker was a hottie, I liked how he was referred to as a viking and went out on his own rather than fall into the family business. He was sweet and didnt give up on Trinity. Trinity was a mixed bag, but she knew it. She was in turn confident and moody. She lacked confidence at times but in others stepped up. At least she knew this and commented on it a few times with Walker. She knows she is a handful and warns him right off the bat. He can't say he wasn't warned.

Overall, it was a good book, I enjoyed it. I just wished it had remained as strong as it was in the beginning through out.

A funny thing happened today when I opened my copy of Just What I Needed to pull some quotes for my review — I ended up reading it for the second time. Trinity and Walked pulled me right back in and I couldn’t stop once I started. Much like after the first time, I’ll say that Walker Lund is the real deal and if you need me I’ll be sitting over here with a serious case of swoons and a book hangover. Loved this one.

I absolutely adored both Trinity and Walker. Trinity was an amazing artist who was determined to make her own way in the world. Walker was a blue collar hero and, honestly, there just aren’t enough of those in books. I loved them together — right from their first, unconventional meeting, through to the very end. They worked so well together. They had amazing chemistry that, combined with the slow burn thing that was going on, held me captive and made me pretty much unable to put it down once I started reading… both times.

The romance and the characters were great, but the other thing that stands out about this book — and the series as a whole — is the family dynamic between the Lunds. I fall more and more for each of them with every book I read. It’s not a picture perfect relationship, it’s not one wrought with tons of drama, but it falls somewhere in the middle and that makes it realistic. It also makes me unable to get enough of them. That said, I just might have to reread the third book, All You Need, one more time before diving into my ARC of the fourth, When I Need You. This Need you series has quickly become one of my favorites and that makes Lorelei a new go-to author for me.

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Loved this book! Lorelei James knows how to write romance. Period. Walker and Trinity's chemistry and romance is hot and sweet. However, I think Selka really stole her scenes in this book. I love that woman.

I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Many thanks to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Of the books I've read by Lorelei James so far, I've really enjoyed her writing. I've never read one of her straight-up contemporaries before, so I couldn't wait to dive in and meet the hunky stranger our main character confronts in a bar for an unforgettable introduction.

Trinity Carlson is not having the best day. Throw in the fact that her ex-boyfriend walks into the bar she's drinking at with the women he cheated on her with, and Trinity has hit a serious low. To save face, Trinity marches up to the first single man she finds and pretends he's her date. Walker Lund is shocked when the gorgeous women at the bar lays a big one on him, only to give him a fake name and number with the (fake) promise of a second date. But Walker won't give up that easily and is determined to find the first women who really makes him feel things he's never felt before.

THIS BOOK. Wow. From the first chapter I was absolutely hooked on the story and the amazing characters and the amazing romance. The chemistry between Trinity and Walker was instant and I loved the fun way that they met. However, this book was definitely not all fun and games. Trinity is such a quirky character and has some real ups and downs emotionally and with her career as an artist. She doesn't have the most supportive family and it's nice to see her really connect with Walker and meet his insanely nosey, large family. Walker's family was definitely entertaining and I loved how involved in his life they all were.

While the romance in this book was awesome, what sealed the deal was the chemistry and build up to the romance. Walker and Trinity didn't just jump into bed together two chapters in. They are both hesitant to start something and really let their attraction build and sizzle before things heated up. That made me so much more invested in the story and I literally could not stop reading until the end.

Overall, this was a major hit for Lorelei James! She delivered lovable characters with crazy families, a sizzling, slow-burn romance, and some serious emotions. If you love a good contemporary and want refreshing characters, you HAVE to pick up Just What I Needed!

JUST WHAT I NEEDED is the second book of the Need You series. Now if you haven’t read this series before, then just know that this is a Contemporary Romance series, not an Erotic one. However, James does throw Trinity Carlson and Walker Lund together very quickly.

Trinity is experiencing the worst day ever when she tries to salvage it at a dive bar. However, there she encounters her with his brand new girlfriend. It’s enough to throw her over the edge but instead of hitting the road, she actually throws herself at a random stranger just to get back at the man.

Luckily for Walker, she’s attractive and he likes her forwardness. Much like James’ other heroines from her other series, Trinity is feisty, sexy and fierce. She’s a straight-shooter and when she kisses the life out of Walker, he falls instantly.

Normally I don’t mind these sort of things. It throws readers into the story and jumpstarts the romance in a big way. However, I would it difficult to really get into the dialogue of this story. There’s quite a lot of banter but for whatever reason it just felt cheesy and forced most of the time. That usual spark that is there with James is somehow missing and there were actually a few moments in here that had be cringing.

That being said, I do think if you like a light and fluffy read this might be just what you need. As a longtime fan of Lorelei James though, I was expecting a little bit more from this series. I’m not a fan of the first point of view in this series. It feels very juvenile compared to her usual writing and I also thought that the focus of this story was a little scattered as it jumped from the family to their more personal conflicts. So while not my favorite from James, you may like this as a light summer read.

Just What I Needed is a knock-your-socks-off story from the first page to the final page. Trinity is a feisty heroine and Walker is a totally sigh worthy hero. Together they complete each other. Although the ride to their happily-ever-after will keep you up reading long past your bedtime you won't regret a single turn of the page. Ms. James knows how to write a well rounded book. The story is complete and gives you insight into what makes this couple and all the secondary characters tick. Well done.

Lorelei James did it again! I’m so loving the Lund family! Just What I Needed is the 2nd book in The Need You Series. Walker is from a close knit family but is feeling disconnected because his family is drifting apart. Trinity is a talented, quirky artist with low self esteem. The romance and chemistry between Walker and Trinity is awesome! Their story pulls you in, makes you laugh, cry and crave a happily ever-after.

Oh I loved it! Great second book for the series. Walker has my heart! He and trinity are the perfect pair. I love how they get each other so well and won't walk away without a fight. And I love how you get to see all the characters in this book I love the whole Lund family. They make me wish they were mine lol. And selka god she is a riot I love her and her mixed up sayings. Once again a great read and can't wait for the next one.
I was given an arc for my honest opinion of this book.

I received an ARC of Just What I Needed by Lorelei James for an honest review. In no way did the ARC change the way I felt about the story or my review on it.
Just What I Needed is the next installment with the Lund Family. Uber-rich family based out of Minneapolis, MN. Walker Lund however does not have much to do with Lund Industries; he only serves on the board and openly admits that he ‘checks out’ about half way though those meeting. Walker is a co-owner of a construction/renovation company. After a meeting that didn’t go the way he wanted to he went to a bar where he met Trinity Amelia Carlson. She happens to be at the same bar that Walker is at because she also had a bad day. Being thanked by a couple of randoms as they leave, they call her Amelia. Walker assumes that is her name and she never corrects him, so when he asks for her number after a life altering kiss, she rattles off her old number. Leaving Walker with no way to get in contact with her.
Trinity Amelia is an up and coming artist, but like most artists, she is just trying to pay her bills. After a piece that she was banking on is decommissioned, she heads to the bar with her girlfriend. Gen leaves her stranded with her margaritas when Trinity’s ex walks in and she realizes that they had been together before the break up happened. She told her ex that she was waiting for her boyfriend, so when Mr. Walker Lund shows up, she walks up to him and gives him an unforgettable kiss. She knew that she should have corrected when those two guys called her Amelia, but she didn’t. She did realize later that she actually had a good conversation with Walker and wished she had been more honest.
As we learned in the first book in this series, What you Need, everyone in the Lund Family serves on the Lund Cares Community Outreach (LCCO) and it happens to be Walkers turn to build some sets for a local theater. Trinity, trying to make some money, takes a job from LCCO (not knowing who they are) to paint sets at the local theater. Needless to say, they meet again and the chemistry is still here.
These two have good chemistry and banter. I love that these two are different than the norm and that is one of the things that helps to push them apart, but keeps them together. I adore how Silka Lund comes to the aid of her boys and the women they love. I also love how this family is close and they have the need to stay that way, even through tough times. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series to see who’s story we will hear next.

What I Needed is just what this book delivered. I honestly did not think I would like this one better than the first in this series but boy was I wrong! I LOVED this book! Walker and Trinity are the perfect ying and yang. I loved that Lorelei made Trinity quirky and imperfect, just like women are. She kept her real and didn't make her all conform to what the man wanted. And Walker??? Sheesh what can I say about him other than he's the perfect man! Now he has his own issues, again, something I love that Lorelei does to her characters, but he is just so sweet. The way he cares about Trinity is just the bomb!

Lorelei writes her characters so they pull you into their world. You feel what they feel and want them to succeed. I have read everything this author has written and I can honestly say she keeps getting better. Read this series, you will not regret it and hey, you may just fall in love with these characters like I did.

I was given an ARC by the author but it in NO WAY has influenced my review. Her writing speaks for itself.

Walker and Trinity. The story of the middle son that gets over looked and the daughter that was born to a parent that didn't really want her.

Walker's dealing with a Jan Brady moment in his life. He feels as if his family only calls on him when they need something from him yet don't take the time to seek him out and find out how his life is going.

Trinity is an artist that doesn't like to be contained into on set medium. Life is hectic and crazy and colorful and emotional and she puts that in her art in all types of methods.

After they both have spectacularly bad days at work they end up at the same bar and sparks fly from the start when Trinity goes up to Walker and lays a kiss on him the likes he'd never received before. Their relationship doesn't start off with easy. Miscommunication ensues but quickly gets remedied and we see how perfect they are for each other. And still, things don't go smoothly. But the journey is worth it. If you love a good love story, read this.
