Free-spirited, Summer, is certainly surprised when she is offered a special placement at Braecastle Academy, the fee-paying school on the outskirts of town. Mum seems pleased and full of encouragement but is it really just a coincidence that after all their travels, she and her family have ended up in this particular small town?
With such a social divide between the two schools will Summer really be able to fit in? And what will happen to her friendship with fellow music-lover, Finley, when she sparks the interest of Ben, her year`s most popular boy?
It's an understatement to say this isn't my normal reading fare, but it was written by a friend of mine so I was always going to give it a go. And I'm glad that I did, because this was an engaging and entertaining story of growing up, finding your place in the world, and that moment when you realise that your parents are people, just like you.
