Garrett and Tammi are a beautiful young couple from L.A. with marriage problems. An out-of-state vacation helps bring them closer together, but not without death and destruction along the way. They head back to their home state with renewed vigor only to be confronted by the people whose lives they altered. After one of his friends is accidentally killed, Harker convinces his mom, Eloise, that the desert doesn't have anything left to offer. She allows her 18-year-old son, a senior in high school, to pick a direction and they set off to find a new life. These interwoven storylines begin in New Mexico and travel alternative routes to reach the wine and redwood country of California. Spanning the course of one intense week, Joyride highlights the wild life that can be found on the road.

Strikingly American. This is a wild ride that is reminiscent of Ian McEwan’s style. Well drawn characters and graceful prose.

Dr. Johnson recommended to Garrett & Tammi they go on a vacation & try & rekindle their love for one another.
Was he really the ideal marriage counselor?
The 2 + José (Chihuahua), found the ideal spot: Wandering Horse Campground (New Mexico, 4 Corners, San Juan River).
Or so they thought; Harker, Boyd Jacobs, Trent, & Grissom were making plenty of noise with their motocross bikes.
Tammi had been bitten by a tarantula.
CRASH!

Garrett & Tammi brought Boyd to Shiprock hospital.
Dr. Clint Rasmussen (ER) & Joe (x-ray technician) were on duty.
Boyd didn’t make it.
Officer Daniels arrived later.
Manslaughter is the charge because the accident ended in a death.

Judge Olcott will oversee the Manslaughter case.
Eloise (Harker’s mom), Mike (Eloise’s son), Harker “Hark” (son), & Nancy (hostess), are now in Sacramento, CA.
Nancy likes to use her assets to get what she wants.
The BurLeather co. wants her to model, $5,000. Aphrodite’s Intimates is what the film is called.
Cameron is the director.
Why was Dr. Casper Prince looking after Nancy?

& what about Garrett?
& then there was Tammi?
You’re not in Kansas anymore Dorothy.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written mystery adventure book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great creepy scary movie, or a mini TV. It was just OK for me so I will rate it at 4/5 stars.

A sexy and gripping tail of Tragedy

This is a book that explores the tragedy of death and how two very different groups of people deal with these events. As you begin reading this book, you immediately gain a connection with the flawed individuals that are Garrett and Tammi, but come to gain an even greater affinity for a character that initially seemed hopeless. This is a book that blends elements of final destination with the Likes of Jerry Macguire and Whats Eating Gilbert Grape.

The book is a quick read, but packs a lot and grabs onto you in a way that makes it hard to put down. One of the top reads of 2016, highly recommended.
