For time beyond memory, the Nine Families watched from the shadows, believing themselves shepherds and manipulating whole societies as they saw fit. Nothing happened that they didnt observe or control. Outsiders knew naught of the Families, much less threatened them. Until now. A blend of The X-Files and Marvels A.I.M.! Featuring art by Pete Woods (Deadpool, Catwoman, Superman, Action Comics).

I read this when it came out last Wednesday because there were no Rebirth titles and I didn't want to waste a trip to my LCS, so I picked this up since it's from Dark Horse (who produces Hellboy which I love) and it was a #1.
I wasn't expecting much, but this was really good! I liked the Grey the most, and I hope they show up a lot, but there really wasn't anything bad with this issue. As a person who loves conspiracy theories, especially the ones about secret societies, so I may be biased, but I think this was a great take, and almost parody, on those things.
This was surprisingly fun and engaging in a story of conspiracy theories meets fantasy and space opera feudalism. The art is solid, though it has the very "shiny" appearance that TV cartoons now have. I'd consider making this one of my "fun" comic pulls, at least for a little while to see where the story goes.
This is not a series for those with a mind towards conspiracies. Hidden families rule everything we do, have advanced alien technology, and plot against each other with no regard for the cost of human life.
However, there is an old prophecy. Dismissed by the newer generations of the families but still held close by the Elders and the Priests, when an attack occurs against one of the families, it seems there is some truth to the tales.
An interesting start but was very busy. I fear the series may be rushed to fit into the issues but we'll see. 3 1/2 stars.
Good color artwork, dark horse freebie. A secret conspiracy of nine families secretly control the world 🌎. They control all humans aliens and fantastic beings. A civil war may be brewing and strange mystic foe arises.
Because humans as a whole can't be trusted to do anything right the Cryotocracy formed. A group of 9 families who have the power to influence the world. Science, governments, wars, and a whole host of conspiracy theories all lay at their feet.
In this issue we see one Family take action when a group of scientists try to create something that the Family predicts will end in disaster. From there we see more of how the Family works, how they operate and who they use to do their dirty work.
The concept of people ruling from the shadows may not exactly be a new one but it was still fun to read about.
Wow! I can't wait to see where this story goes. I think the writer has been read tons of David Wilcock, and David Icke. If you know who they are you will love this.
The drawings are okay, the story is kinda boring (story about big families ruling everything, supernatural stuff, bla bla)but is still the beginning,so can't judge much. 6/10
