Megan Isbell was born in Japan and raised in Southern Arizona. Her husband's submarine career brought her to Connecticut in 2002. She holds a BA in Elementary Education and an MS in Reading/Language Arts Education. While her passion is writing, she also loves her day job as a first grade teacher. She chooses to set most of her stories in New England because she can't think of a more beautiful place to live. Besides writing, Megan loves spending time with her daughter, watching TV (especially The Vampire Diaries and anything on The History or Travel Channels) and running. She loves the Boston Red Sox and has an unhealthy obsession with the The Killers, Depeche Mode, Erasure, The Script, Within Temptation, Alex Band and Ryan Star. She currently lives in northeast Connecticut with her husband, daughter, one crotchety Yorkie, one lovable Chihuahua, and one indifferent gray cat. Her novels include The Home Series, After the Sky Fell Down, Here With Me and My Tomorrow.
Once again my world rights itself when I get to travel back to my favorite characters and home in Carver, Kansas where friendships, love and family come together in another great story written by Megan Nugen Isbell in Pieces of Home.
In her newest release Isbell gives us Wyatt’s story. Now, if you have the pleasure of reading the Home Series, you know Wyatt as the son of Mandy and Brandon and the recent ex boyfriend of Gracie. ( If you haven’t read her entire Home Series, it’s okay to pick up with Close to Home where you first meet Wyatt.) When we left him in Close to Home, he was broken hearted as he returned to MIT, Boston, and a life far away from the girl he loved in Carver. Emotionally spent, Wyatt focuses his life on MIT, studying and trying to make what he had lost worth it by passing that he fails what is right in front of him- Anna. Anna has been Wyatt’s study partner, friend even, but she’s never been more. Both fighting their fears and trying to succeed in this new life, they find common ground together, a friendship and support with the possibility of more should they lower their guards around their hearts. Although, letting someone in again really ever that easy, right?
I will admit when I got done reading Close to Home, I was all about #teamAaron. I didn’t need Wyatt’s story. He’d chosen MIT. I thought that was enough said. But Isbell proved me completely wrong because Wyatt Seaver had a whole lot to say in Pieces of Home. His character reminded me why I loved the Home Series to start with. He is the perfect combination of Carver meets Boston, Jesse meets Brandon, and I couldn’t help but fall for him.
As with all of Isbell’s books, she continues to deliver a real love story filled with emotion, heartbreak, love, and life. Her characters are real and easy to connect with forming a bond between reader and writer that will continually have you checking back for the next release to the series. I’m so happy that Isbell shared Wyatt with us and can’t wait to see what is in story for the rest of her characters when she brings us back home to Carver once again.
Pieces of Home (The Home Series: Book 7) by Megan Nugen Isbell is the seventh book in her The Home series. I recommend that you read all the previous books in this story first, but I don't think it is necessary for this book. This series is great and you will enjoy them all, so go back and read them. My favorite thing about this author is writing style and her development of these characters. She has a way of making her characters pop off the page and into your heart. You will find yourself connecting with these characters and they are true to life. You will enjoy how these characters connect with each other and help make the story flow. They will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat one minute and wondering what was they thinking in the next. Find out what happens next in this installment of The Home series.
Wyatt Seaver has been in love with his best friend forever, he thought they would always be together until he was wrong. He returns to school after his heart break but he just doesn't have the strength for a relationship with emotional ties. No strings attached is the way to go. Will all that change for him when he meets Anna? She is quiet, timid and he is starting to see her in a new light. As he gets to know her more, he realizes that not everyone has had the same things growing up as he did. Will this make him care for her more? As their relationship grows stronger and a deeper bond, will they heal each other? Will the possible heart break be to much for them? Are they strong enough to make it through?
Wyatt and Anna's relationship is one that started out as friendship and grew into something more. They grew up opposite of each other but the one thing that they have in common is they both are looking for acceptance from each other. They are heartbreaking together but yet there is a shred of light that true love really might exist for them. They are two strong characters together and separately. We don't get to know to much about Anna character but what we do get so see is that she has her own heart breaking past. She does seem to grow throughout this story and by the end I think that she is stronger then at the beginning. Wyatt is just a loveable guy who is just heart broken. He struggles with letting go and learning to trust again. But after being that heart broken I would probably struggle with those things too. The secondary characters in my opinion are a great support to them. You either like them or not, there is always good characters and trouble makers in every story. Will Wyatt and Anna find that they are strong enough for this relationship? Will they ever heal from their pasts? Will they just heal each other? Find out what happens with this couple as they try to find the true meaning of love and soul mates.
Each book in this series keeps making the series better and better. I can't wait to see the next story in this series. I will be sad when the series end as I know I am getting down to the last of it but I can't wait to see what Megan Nugen Isbell comes out with next for us. Megan was born in Japan and raised in Southern Arizona. She currently lives in Connecticut with her husband, daughter, dogs and cat. She chooses to set most of her stories in New England as she can't think of a more beautiful place to live. She loves spending time with her daughter watching television and running. This story is fast paced and you will find that you will lose all track of time reading this. This story is a true love story that gives you hope that some day everyone may find a true love or soul mate. This is a sweet story you won't want to miss. I highly recommend this story as you will want to see what happens next with these characters.
Pieces of Home (The Home Series: Book Seven) By: Megan Nugen Isbell 5 out of 5 stars
The story Pieces of Home (The Home Series: Book Seven) by Megan Nugen Isbell is a contemporary romance book. This is the next amazing story in the Home Series. It is the story of Wyatt Seaver and Anna Russell. Wyatt has returned to school brokenhearted after losing Gracie. He doesn’t have the strength to start another emotional relationship and seems to be drifting along in life. Then one day he finds himself really noticing Anna. They both begin to connect and Anna confides in Wyatt about her life. Seeing Anna in a new light, Wyatt knows that he is falling for her. It seems that these two are made for each other. Will they find the love they are looking for in each other's arms or will old fears keep them from being able to fully commit to each other?
This is a story about two people who come from very different backgrounds who find love and acceptance from each other. It is a story that had me both heartbroken for Wyatt and that he lost Gracie but happy that he found himself again with Anna. This book and series make you believe in true love and that everyone has a soul mate. I love the character of Anna. At first you don’t know a lot about her, however, as she and Wyatt get closer she confides in him about her past. Anna is a strong person to have gotten where she is today. The odds were stacked against her, but she blew past every obstacle in her way. Anna also feels that she is invisible to most people. She doesn’t have a lot of self-esteem. Anna is someone that you can identify with and I felt so happy that she takes a chance and starts to trust Wyatt.
You can’t help but feel sad for Wyatt and feel the devastation that losing Gracie has caused. I then felt so happy when he started to notice Anna and they begin a relationship. His words and actions show that he really cares about her and wants to make sure she feels happy and loved. You also find that Wyatt still has unresolved issues regarding Gracie. Will they affect his current relationship with Anna? Read this book to find out if Wyatt and Anna get their HEA.
I can’t state enough how I have enjoyed this book and this series. The author has created characters that are unforgettable and that you can relate to. Each book takes you a little further into their lives and I find myself thinking of them as friends. I was always rooting for their success in life and their happiness. Family plays a large part in both this book and series. Be sure to have plenty of time when starting this book as you won’t want to put it down until you finish! I can’t wait to read what the author has in store for the next book.

Until after the break things start to go wrong and will Wyatt become heartbroken again or will he fight for the true love of the women he loves with his heart and soul.
I love this series the way Megan brings you into the lives of these people and I love the way that this is a full circle series, starting with the parents and ending with their children. You can read each book as a standalone but honestly who would these stories are great and you will be binge read them one after the other.
Pieces of Home (The Home Series: Book 7) by Megan Nugen Isbell
5 Stars
Reading this series has started to feel like my comfort series. I love everything about it and have fallen in love with everyone, this author is definitely a favorite for me going forward.
Wyatt Seaver returns to school in Boston after having his heart broke by Gracie. His feelings of loss aren't only because she was the love of his life but also his best best friend since they were kids. When he is offered a no strings attached option by Hailey when he returns to school he goes with it. It helps him to forget for a little bit anyway. Problem is it is not who he is, and he has started seeing Hailey’s roommate Anna in a whole new way. He knew them both from his previous year but being committed to Gracie, there was never anything there but friendships.
Anna Russell, the quiet one. She felt as if no one ever noticed her and that's how she wanted it. She had a hard childhood being moved from around to different foster families.
As Anna and Wyatt start spending more time together, they find they really enjoy each other's company. When Anna receives bad news and has to go home, Wyatt accompanies her so that she doesn't have to be alone. While being with her he learns a little more about her past and why she keeps herself in the background all the time. For spring break he talks her into go home with him where she meets his family and close family friends and she falls in love with all of them although definitely not used to the whole family thing. While being home Wyatt has to find a way to deal with seeing Gracie again especially since she is now with his brother. Can these two with so much pain in their past heal each other and fall in love? What happens when she leaves him after the school year and he goes back home to work for the summer?
This one might just be my favorite in this series so far. This author's writing style and her ways to twist and turn a story is something I love. I highly recommend this whole series. Loved it!!
Pieces of Home The Home Series: Book Seven written by Megan Nugen Isbell 5 stars
I adore this series and I love that there's more to come! This book had me grabbing for tissues again. You will laugh, feel frustrated, confused, rooting that they get together, praying they figure things out before it's too late, hoping for second chances and anxiously awaiting book eight.
This book is about realizing what a true, honest, loyal friendship is and how there are many different ways to love someone. It's about forgiveness, acceptance, hope, love, trust and taking a chance on following your heart.
“What is this between us? I have to know because I feel like I’ve been afraid my whole life. There’s always been this feeling inside of me that I wasn’t even aware of until it wasn’t there anymore. I was scared, but with you…with you I’m not afraid and if I’m reading into this or if…if you don’t feel the same way…”
Wyatt and Gracie had been best friends and finally had started dating. When Gracie broke up with Wyatt he not only lost his girlfriend, but his best friend. Wyatt had lost his way a little bit after Gracie broke his heart until someone unexpected caught his eye.
Anna and Wyatt lived completely different childhoods and were different in so many ways, yet there was something about Anna he needed to learn more about. He wanted to spend more time with her. He wanted to get to know what made him be drawn to her. The more time Wyatt spent with Anna he realized she didn't see what others saw in her. Her strength, humor, intelligence, kindness and beauty.
Would Anna feel she was enough for Wyatt? Could they last although they were raised so different? Would he tire of her and leave her broken hearted like everyone else that she cared about?
“My heart broke at her words. I thought I had shown her how special she was, but it wasn’t enough. Nothing ever seemed to be to enough for her because until she believed she was beautiful…until she believed she was special, nothing I did would matter.”
Pieces of Home by Megan Nugen Isbell is book seven of the Home Series. This book is Wyatt’s story. I really enjoyed this book because it was from Wyatt’s point of view which was different than book six where it was Gracie’s point of view. This book picks up almost right after Gracie and Wyatt’s talk about their relationship.
Wyatt Seaver thought he found the one person he was going to be with forever. However, distance and circumstances have changed his course. Wyatt returns to Boston and he's heart broken. Wyatt runs into Hailey, who was part of his study group and she proposes a convenient relationship that helps them both out. He lets it go on for awhile but then a conversation with a good friend opens his eyes a little.
“Her words stung. I hadn’t realized that was how she looked at me. I never thought of myself as that guy, but she saw me that way and knowing I’d disappointed her was not something I could let go.”
Wyatt starts spending more and more time with Anna and before he realizes it, he doesn't want to miss out on time with her. Anna gets an upsetting phone call that prompts a quick trip to Philadelphia and Wyatt goes with her. It's on that trip that Wyatt realizes things are changing for him when it comes to Anna.
“The trip to Philadelphia changed things between us. I knew the real Anna Russell. I knew her story. I knew her pain. Mostly though, I knew she made me feel again when I thought that part of me had been numbed.”
Anna has always known she was plain. Especially when she's with her roommate Hailey who attracts all of the guys including Wyatt. Anna’s life changes quickly and she finds herself not knowing where she belongs. This causes her to question herself and her relationship with Wyatt.
This book evoked so many feelings. It was very well written and if you've read any of the series I suggest reading this one as well. It is part of the series but the only book that needs to be read before this one is book six. However I suggest reading books one through six first to get a feel for all of the characters.
Pieces of home by Megan Nugen Isbell is book seven in her home series. This is definitely a series to be read in order as you need to understand every character, moms, dads and kids to understand and be fully invested in the lives of those in Carver. I absolutely love this series.
Book six started informing us of Grace, Wyatt and Aaron. In book seven, we get Wyatt's perspective and how he's doing in Boston. After Christmas break being a complete disaster with him and Grace breaking up, Wyatt thought he'd never be the same. He didn't think he was capable of loving or caring for anyone anyone the way that he did for his best friend Grace. But that changed when he started to notice the girl behind the glasses.
Anna Russell was the shy, quiet, studious type. She had had a rough upbringing in the foster care system. She truly felt she had no one. She usually was the friend people noticed last and though was the nerd, even at a prestigious school like MIT. But with her friends and roommate Hailey demanding all the attention, it's just how it was. She didn't think people saw her until Wyatt made her feel different.
Can we just talk about how I was okay with Grace and Aaron but soooo NOT okay with Wyatt and Hailey? Dumb girl. Now now don't get me wrong, I went to college, I know how it goes. But Wyatt is so much better than her and I don't like this side she brings out. But now Anna? Yes, I like Anna.
I loved reading their story. I had thought I knew what I wanted for Wyatt and then I realized things played out as they should have. This was a cute story that came full circle and I am happy with where Megan decided to take her characters. I am so so excited to read the final book. I feel like my emotions have been all over with this series but it has been good and I am so happy I have been able to read each of these characters grow up.
Pieces of home by Megan Nugen Isbell- 5 stars Pieces of home is book 7 in the Home series and follows Wyatt Seaver and Anna Russell. Wyatt is brought back home in the wake of heartbreak and dealing with the loss of Gracie. He cannot seem to find much purpose in his life and seems to be doing very little to get by every day, that is until he sees Anna. Even though his heart is not sure he is ready to try and love again, he finds himself drawn to Anna and intrigued at her story. Anna has not had the easiest life and finds herself confiding in Wyatt about her past struggles. Their friendship continues to strengthen, but both find each other still scared to put their hearts on the line and give love a chance. Both Wyatt and Anna have to decide if there is more to their friendship than study partners and if they can lower their guards and allow their hearts to get what they deserve. Throughout this book my heart was broken and put back together again and I found myself relating so much to Wyatt and his heartbreak. A lot of time in contemporary romances I find myself put off by unbelievable love lives or expectations and I found this so refreshing and true. Although in the story before this, Wyatt chose his happiness in his work at MIT I was still very happy for him to have his happily ever after. I may be a bit controversial on this one, but I still really wanted Wyatt to be with Gracie. I loved their story and I am a sucker for falling in and out of love. There was nothing wrong with Anna and I really felt for her story and her genuine feelings, but the heart of the reader wants what it wants! Still a fantastic read by Isbell and a perfect companion novel to an already great series. I cannot wait to see what is in store for Aaron and Gracie in the next installment!
Pieces of Home (The Home Series Book 7)By Megan Nugen Isbell
Pieces of Home ( The Home Series Book 7) By Megan Nugen Isbell is the seventh book in The Homes Series.I highly recommend that you read the previous books in this series although it's not necessary for this book.Ive truly enjoyed this series by this author, her writing style is amazing, she makes ypu feel as if ypur on the journey right along with the characters. You feel heart break along with the characters as well. This story is about Wyatt Severn and Anna Russell. Wyatt had been in love with his best friend Gracie for ever,he always thought they'd be together for ever until he was so very wrong. After returning to school early with a broken heart, he doesn't have the strength for another relationship. So him and Hailey (more her than him) decide to have a no strings attached, until he no longer feels like that's right. He hasn't felt like that's him since it started. Then there's Anna, who is very quite but very smart girl who is Hailey roommate and Wyatt friend. He begins to look at her differently. The more he gets to know her the more he realizes not everyone comes from a happy home as he did.Their relationship started out as friends and grew into so much more. They both have struggles with acceptance. It's heartbreaking and an emotional ride. Can these two find true love together?I absolutely loved this book as the other books in the series. We don't get to know much about Anna's character other than jer past but I love the suspense element of the not knowing because you get to learn about her as she is now.Wyatt is just oh I love Wyatt such a kind gentleman. I will say it again but I truly do recommend this book.
Pieces of Home by Megan Nugen Isbell which is book seven of the home series. If you are a fan of this author than you know how amazing this series is. I love when I get long series like this so I can power through the books and I was kind of lucky coming late to the game that I was able to read them all. Though I’ve taken my breaks throughout, this author never seems to stop when it comes to these books.
Knowing there this is the second to the last book of the series, it had made a little upset because I fell in love with the characters and kind of consider them like my family as well. I loved them and love seeing how they evolve within the book. That alone makes me sad that this book was coming to an end for me.
You see Wyatt, where we left off last after the aftermath that was him and Gracie. Not only do you get to see him go back to MIT but you kind of see how he gets his life to explode a bit. Not one purpose, but like anyone who had a bad break up (though it was not bad on the outside). Wyatt kind of shed the whole boy next door thing for a hot second, though I won’t say what happened. No spoilers from this girl.
But you get to see Anna and really get to meet her. I loved how in book six you see how Gracie met Anna and liked her when she was hanging out with Wyatt’s friend. I loved that because even though Gracie and Wyatt are not together, their friendship is so important much like the other characters.
I love this author she simply allows all characters to shine, including the secondary characters and gives them to shine.
This book is another one you will fall in love and hope you will read it. Now I’m going to take a pause before reading the last one I’m sure that it will rip me inside out.
5 stars! Pieces of Home is the seventh book in the Home series by Megan Nugen Isbell. These books do need to be read in order, especially book 6 before this one, as they are a continuation of the storyline. I have read all of the books in this series so far and the author never fails to write an amazing story! I have loved this series from the very beginning and love that we are now reading Wyatt’s story who is Brandon and Mandy’s son. At the end of the last book I was heartbroken for Wyatt after Gracie, Riley and Jesse’s daughter, broke up with him after she had fallen in love with his brother who had been adopted as a baby. I really felt for him, especially as on the outside he was trying not to show just how upset he was about the break up because he didn’t want to upset Gracie. Whilst he did some things in the previous story that enabled Gracie and Aaron to grow close I could still feel all of his emotions about the situation. I was still leaning towards Aaron so I was looking forward to reading things from Wyatt’s POV. After the Summer Wyatt return to college and we get to see more of Laura, who appeared a small amount during the previous book. I really liked Laura, she had such a sad back story and I desperately wanted her and Wyatt to become a couple. She was a really nice person but felt that she needed to hide in the shadows and let some people (mainly her roommate Hailey walk all over her). I think this story definitely showed a different side to Wyatt and I’m glad that the author chose to write from his POV. I am definitely looking forward to the final book in the series, even if I’m not sure I’m quite ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet!
Pieces of Home – Megan Nugen Isbell is a 5 star read!!
I loved this book. I selected it by Author. I’ve recently read an Isbell novel, and fell in love with her writing style. I was hoping this story had the same effect on me, and it did!
The author illustrates from the very beginning that the characters in this book are just reaching adulthood, before even telling us how old they are. They have all the correct behaviours, hopes, fears, and idolizations for college students.
I was surprised from the beginning. Immediately my brain started working out who is who and what relationships may come of it – this was not automatically obvious to me because I haven’t read any of the previous books in this series, and that added an extreme amount of mystery for me. I found this story to be unexpectedly funny, when I was expecting it to be more serious.
It gave me alot Insight into the different lives of others and how they live, for example what someone rich does as compared to someone comfortable, or even poor. How someone from the city lives as compared to someone in the country. How someone who was raised with a family is, as compared to someone who wasn’t, And how very different people from all those categories are. They might all see the same situation differently and it can cause tension and insecurity when trying to develop relationships.
I’m glad I read this. It opened up my mind to a lot of things I’ve never actually took the time to contemplate before. I will for sure look at people’s circumstances in a new light for now on. I will be looking for the books that belong before this one, and following all the ones that come after!
Pieces of Home is book seven in the Home series by Megan Nugen Isbell.
Wyatt Seaver had been in love with his best friend Gracie since forever, she was his everything, his one true love, she was his past, his present, his future, the one he was going to grow old with. That was until she broke his heart into a million pieces. Fleeing home with a broken heart, returning to collage in Boston seemed the smart thing to do to get away from it all, he is broken, hurt and looking for a quick fix to make him feel good, so no strings attached seems the best way to get over her. Spending more time with friends change one relationship for Wyatt, she is called Anna Russell, the quiet one of the group, she would not say boo to a ghost. As they spend more and more time together they get to know each other better and better, he also realises life is not a bad as he thought it was, he might have lost his love but he still has his family, something others do not have any more or never had.
Can Wyatt be healed by Anna? Will be forget Gracie? Who is Anna really? Can he ever love again?
Megan Nugen Isbell has continued this whole series brilliantly; you just want to reads more and more. We have a book her that we never had in the beginning, how did the other half feel, I love exploring more of Wyatt story and how the end of the last book affected him. I found Wyatt relatable, I just wanted to crawl into the book, hug him and say hey it will all be alright. I like Megan’s writing style, she almost does drag you into the book so this is all happening in front of you. This series has just gets better and better, don’t want this to end. Massive five stars from me.
Pieces of Home is the seventh book in the Home Series by Megan Nugen Isbell and this was a bitter sweet book for me since I know there is only one more book after this one. That being said I couldn’t put it down and had it finished quickly due to me not being able to put the book down and not being able to sleep. This series has had me from the first book and I have yet to be disappointed in any of the books.
This is Wyatt’s story after he and Gracie break up and he heads back to MIT for the second semester of his sophomore year. Christmas break wasn’t anything like he expected it to be and is now licking his wounds and trying to get over his broken heart. He gets back to dorm and runs into Hailey one of his friends and study partner. They get caught up on what happened over the break and Hailey isn’t all that upset that Wyatt is single once again and she makes her move.
After everyone gets back from break Wyatt starts to notice Anna. They start hanging out and getting closer and Wyatt finds out about Anna’s life and why she is happy blending in and not being noticed. His feelings shift from friendship to more and Anna isn’t sure how to handle it.
My favorite moments took place in Carver with Riley, Jesse, Mandy and Brandon. As much as I love the stories of the next generation I am unable to totally let go of the original crew. This has a much-deserved happy ending for Wyatt and Anna. I’m not ready to read the last book in this series and say goodbye to this group of characters but I don’t know if I will be able to stay away too long.
Pieces of Home (Home Series Book 7) by Megan Nugen Isbell 5 stars Pieces of Home is the seventh book in Megan Nugen Isbell's Home series. I wouldn't recommend reading this until you've read previous books as it starts in the middle of an already ongoing story. Told in Wyatt's POV, we see his feelings on every situation in this book and his side from the previous book. As usual you're drawn right into this story and are emotionally invested quickly. When Wyatt returns to school after a not so stellar Christmas break back home, he's in a sour mood and falls prey to his friend. When he puts a stop to the behind closed doors fun they had, he starts to realize he has feelings for someone, and its not her. As he tries to just be Anna's friend, he is also teying to get her to see that she's worthy of his attention and attraction. Wyatt is the perfect guy for everything you need, from a shoulder to cry on to being there to make you laugh. When Wyatt offers for Anna to come home with him for break, he's nervous of how Gracie and Aarons relationship will impact him and his budding relationship with Anna. After he has a small wake up call, all things are right in the world, until he goes back to school. Can he get Anna to see she can still have him and a career or will he lose her before she realizes he'd follow her any where? I really loved this story and was so glad to see Wyatt get a happily ever after. While it might not have been with who we were rooting for, this book made me switch aides and fall for Anna too!
A 5 star read for Pieces of Home, the Home Series Book 7, by Megan Nugen Isbell. I have read every book in this series and was so excited to read Wyatt’s story. I was a little leery about reading it because I had been heartbroken about Gracie and Wyatt.
Wyatt Seaver had been in love with his best friend, Grace Baylor, since as far back as he was able to remember but just recently they both admitted that it was more than just friendship. Before he was ready to head back to MIT, Wyatt and Gracie end things but promise to remain best friends. When he is back on campus, he doesn't want to get his heart broken again so he figures no strings sex is the way to go so when his neighbor says she is on board, he just goes with it. Until he really start to get to know Anna Russell. They were always friends and study partners but now he sees her in a totally different way. When they start learning details of each other's past, Wyatt realizes that Anna may just be the girl for him. All he has to do is make Anna see that. When he brings Anna home to Carver with him, not only does she fall in love with his family but they love her right back.
Can Wyatt show Anna that they are meant to be together or are they both headed for heartbreak?
I can honestly say that I have loved all of the books in this series. I highly recommend reading this one! You will definitely fall in love with these books and also this author!!!
Pieces of Home (The Home Series: Book Seven) by Megan Nugen Isbell Stars: 4
Wyatt Seaver had loved Gracie Baylor for the majority of his life. He thought that they would get married, but, sadly, that was not to be. After Wyatt and Gracie broke up, Wyatt goes back to college in Boston. He does not want another relationship with emotional ties. However, he starts to reconsider that stand when he starts to see Anna Richards differently. Anna is very quiet and shy. Anna had a rough past without the unconditional love and support from family. This only makes Wyatt’s feelings for Anna grow. As their relationship grows, Anna and Wyatt need to hold on to each other.
I loved both Anna and Wyatt in this story. I loved Wyatt in Close to Home so I was excited to read more about Wyatt. He is a sweet and caring man. I really enjoyed meeting and learning more about Anna. She is stronger than she realizes. They are likeable and relatable characters. story is filled the characters learning to grow up and heal from painful past situations. They were fantastic couple that I really enjoyed reading about these two.
I felt that Megan Nugen Isbell did a great job with this story. This is the seventh story in this series, but is the next generation of characters. This story is very well written and completely engaging. I also feel that the flow of the story was consistent and fluid. I have really enjoyed the books that Megan Nugen Isbell and would recommend any book from her.
Pieces of Home, by Megan Nugen Isbell, is the seventh book in the Home series. This is a contemporary new adult/college romance. This series continues to be inspiring and I cannot help but to love it to pieces. I do highly recommend reading Close to Home prior to reading this book to ensure you know the back story of how the character(s) came to be where they are presently in the story.
Pieces of Home is Wyatt's story, following Close to Home – book six in the series. I liked Wyatt as he was written in the previous book and could not wait to see and feel more with his story. Megan Nugen Isabell has delivered! This story will leave you heart broken, but find a way to piece you back together again in the most exquisite way possible.
We continue to see Wyatt's character develop in this story and it is a transition and change that he truly needs to make to come to be who he should and deserves to be. My heart broke for him and with the way the author writes, I felt those emotions down in my soul and I yearned for him to get the happy ever after that he is meant to have. Truly a remarkable story and just the perfect one for Wyatt. Excellent delivery and follow through in this story.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the Home series. This has been a beautiful stories that I have enjoyed reading.
Pieces of Home (The Home Series: Book Seven) Megan Nugen Isbell 4 stars
I would highly recommend you read the series from the start, however If you haven't this book wouldn't confuse you. I absolutely love Megan's work her development throughout the series, her writing style is phenomenon they way she makes you connect with each and every character and even the character development is so in depth is makes for amazing read. Excellent steady pace, with just the right about excitement to make want to keep turning the page. Pieces of Home is Wyatt story and we follow on from Close to Home, on his way back to MIT after being heartbroken by the girl he loved for so long. He starts to fully focus on his studying and fails to notice something that has been there right in front of him but never noticed before. Anna has been Wyatt’s friend and study partner for some time and with both not wanting to get involved in a relationship due to their pasts, they develop a remarkable common ground friendship. Wyatt now understanding some of her past is he enough for her? who is going to let their guard down first? Megan has a way of making all her novels full of life, love and pure emotion that almost every reader will relate in some way shape or form. I loved Wyatt’s story and look forward to seeing whatever character comes across the pages next.
Pieces of Home by Megan Nugen Isbell is the seventh book in The Home Series, and it's an amazing addition to the series. I would definitely recommend reading the first previous books in the series because each book builds off of one another. Megan Nugen Isbell has a way of creating an intimate story line between the characters that just keeps you coming back for more. Another amazing 5 star read!
Wyatt Seaver has been in love with his best friend for as long as he can remember, he thought they would always end up together. He returns to school after having his heart broken and he isn't quite ready for a relationship. Enter Anna, she's quiet, timid and shy, and everything he didn't know he was looking for. While they grew up in different ways, they each have their own fair share of heartbreak and seek acceptance. Their relationship starts to grow stronger and they start to see each other in a different light. Can Anna help heal the wounds that Wyatt has? Can Wyatt help Anna? Or will life come through like a hurricane and change their fates?

Pieces of Home – The Home Series: Book Seven by Megan Nugen Isbell
This is book 7 in a series of 8 books. While you don’t have to read the whole series, at least start at Book 6 so you can understand the 2nd generation in this lovely family saga. Megan Nugen Isbell has done an amazing job of keeping the family tree branches equal and not confusing. Each branch of the tree has been as interesting and compelling as the other. This offshoot is no different.
Wyatt Seaver is a “one woman man”. His whole short life, there has only been one woman for him who happened to be his best friend Gracie. Gracie and Wyatt spent their whole life together until they went their separate ways for college. In book 6, we saw Gracie and Wyatt as a couple and then after they broke up. I thought I was satisfied if the series ended there. I am oh so glad that I was able to read the rest of Wyatt’s story.
Pieces of Home felt like the most diverse of all the stories. It took the opposite direction of the rest of the series. Wyatt goes from a small town to a big city and must assimilate into a new and faster culture. Anna.
I have really enjoyed the way the stories have flowed from one character to the next and one story to the next. It’s been a great way to read.
Pieces of home, book seven of the Home series by Megan Nugen Isbell, is Wyatt and Anna’s story. Going into this I knew two things-
1. I would need a box of tissues nearby because every book in this series makes you cry. 2.I needed Wyatt to have a happily ever after because he deserved it.
What I didn’t anticipate is how much I LOVED Anna! She is quiet and strong, sweet and a little broken. Ok, so when Wyatt comes back from his epic breakup with Gracie, he makes a couple bad decisions because he is being a dumb boy and thinks it will help him. It just ends up causing a bigger mess. And he finally starts to notice quiet little Anna, another person who super deserves her HEA. She doesn’t believe she’s anything special and it breaks my heart. All while they are figuring things out, Wyatt is still trying to come to terms with losing Grace, which I think the bigger problem was losing her as a best friend.
At some point, they go back Kansas to visit and I love seeing how everyone is doing and how they all respond to Anna. I especially love how his mom is with her. At this point, all of the characters feel like family to me and Carver feels like a second home. Rest assured, this book does have a happy ending and is told from Wyatt’s point of view. I loved it!
Pieces of home by Megan Nugan Isbell is the seventh book in The Home Series. Once again Megan knocked it out of the field. Megan has such an amazing way of making you bond with the characters that you feel like your there watching it happen. I was a little worried about this book because I had so much love for Wyatt and Gracie being together I didn’t think that I would want to read about them with other characters. I was beyond happy with how it turned out and can’t wait for the next book. In this book Wyatt is trying to move on with his life since Gracie and him broke up. Wyatt went back to school with a chip on his shoulder and mad at the world. He didn’t know how to move on without his best friend and the lady he loved. Wyatt wound up hooking up with someone to try to forget but then he looks at Anna in a different light. Anna was part of the group but she was always trying to stay in the background. Eventually Wyatt gets her to start opening up to him when he finds her alone and crying after finding out some tragic new. Wyatt went to help Anna when she had to go out of town and that is when they start finding that they likes each other in a special way. This book is well written and is hard to put down once your start.
My heart broke for Wyatt, young and confused, that's what he is after Grace broke his heart. It was refreshing to hear of a guy that wanted to be a one woman man and didn't get that. He wanted a future with Gracie. He wanted to get married and have kids. That didn't pan out for him though.
He is studying and working hard for his future at MIT. He has a small circle of friends. He has a class with Anna, who is in that circle of friends. He begins feeling something towards her. Something he cant describe at first. He just wants to be around her. He wants to protect her. He wants to make her smile and laugh.
Anna is working hard, on a scholarship, trying to secure a job after school. She is focused on her classes and that's it. Until Wyatt begins demanding her attention. She is scared but tries to see where it goes. Her fear wins though she screws it all up. This surprised me too, most show the man being scared of commitment and running but Anna bolts when it gets too hot for her.
These two were sweet together, they learned a lot from each other. They are learning to trust others and balance life.
Pieces of Home is the perfect book to read on a rainy day. It's restful, thought-provoking, and a little bit melancholy --- basically, a perfect New Adult romance.
As always, I enjoyed the dichotomy of city versus country, in this case a Kansas boy attending MIT and meeting a city girl. Speaking of that city girl, Anna was one of my favorite characters to date. There's something very evocative about young adults recently emerged from foster care, and Anna's story definitely sucked me in.
Although Pieces of Home could easily be read as a standalone, it gains a lot of depth by being part of this multi-generational family saga. After reading about the stories of parents and children alike, opening up another Isbell book is very much like going home. And it looks like we'll be going home one more time since the author's note mentions a final novel on the drafting board. I can hardly wait!
i have followed this author since i first downloaded the first book in this series. takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
In this book, we get Wyatt's story. In the ending of Book 6, he and Gracie have decided to split up. So we follow him in his story, and finding his forever love. I had to put this book down several times, cause part of me wanted him and Gracie to be together, and i didn't like where he was heading. But i understood what the author was trying to do, and in the end it works out perfectly.
If you haven't read this series, definitely pick it up and be introduce life in Carver and the whole clan.
Omg this book broke my heart and put it back together again so many times! Isbell did an amazing job with this book. Iyt had me feeling so many emotions. It had me laughing one minute and them crying the next. I just fell in love with Wyatt and Anna's story. They learn so much from each other and were meant to be together despite their different upbringings.
