While drowning his sorrows in a small downtown bar, Ben Langdon meets Lila. Only problem? She’s taken. Cutting his losses, he heads home. Intercepted by a phone call from a stranger pleading for help and an address he doesn’t recognize, Ben is led to The Maze, an eerie dance club of which he knows little except its motto: “One way in. No way out.” Leaving behind the woman of his dreams, Ben steps into the nightmare of his life.
On the Corner of Hamilton and Main
As Lila Donahue is acting as maid of honor for her best friend, she meets Ben in a little downtown bar on the night of the bachelorette party. He disappears into the cold night’s air, and because of the celebration, Lila tries to forget him. Later that night, much to Lila’s dismay, the bride-to-be wants to party at The Maze. Reluctantly, Lila participates only to be pulled into a reality that exceeds all her wildest dreams.
Bizarre, magical, surreal, 1700 Hamilton and On the Corner of Hamilton and Main are stories that will leave you gasping for breath until the very last page.

I like how descriptive the writing is. I love character driven fiction.
"I know of no maze, but the one to your heart. Many have tried and failed to reach it."
I found this kind of like an Alice in wonderland adventure. Written in third person, but we begin by seeing the story through Ben's eyes. I was surprised when the story ends with Ben and picks up again with Lila, a re-telling from her. But you soon realise it makes sense to be done this way so you see more of the wacky journey.
There isn't romance as such, but you definitely glimpse the deep and genuine feelings between Lila and Ben. I usually need strong romantic elements, however this book holds its own.
I don't advise to read this while drinking. Not that I did... I just think it would be trippy.
I really enjoyed this and devoured it quickly. I will definitely be reading more by this talented author.
In The Corner of 1700 Hamilton, author Vania Rheault takes us on an amazing journey as two people fall in and succumb to love at first sight.
The problem? At first glance, they each assume the other is taken and thus they try to forget the encounter. Both wind up at a night club called "The Maze." What Mrs. Rheault does so brilliantly is as she is telling the story of Ben and Lila, The Maze itself becomes an integral character.
Parts of 1700 will have you on the edge of your seat, digging in your heels in hopes that these two people who are so obviously spellbound by the other will meet again, but also that they simply find their way out safely. Other parts of 1700 will have you so wrapped up in the delicious romance that you forget there might be danger lurking around the corner.
I am very much looking forward to reading what comes next from this talented writer.
From beginning to end I found I could not put this book down. Vania Rheault has created a magical, fantastic, romantic journey. And with her flawless style of writing transports the reader into the middle of the action. Simply put, one of the best books I've ever read. I highly recommend it and look forward to more from her in the future--- D. R. Willis
The classic girl meets boy story done in a rather twisted way. I really enjoyed that the story was told from both perspectives made it just that little bit more. The setting of The Maze was just an excellent one, very original concept. I found it to be very well written and fast moving. Only took me a few days to read it.
Two words on my mind when I finished this book: exceptionally creative.
Not your average romance, not your average plot, not your average twists and turns. Most importantly: not your average quality of writing! Vania Rheault's unique style of perfect form and effortless imagination weaves the plot and characters at a dizzying pace.
TCO1700H (whew!) is a wonderful, genre-bending piece of fiction, laden with humour, wonder and more than a few moments where my mouth was wide open in disbelief. It's hard to explain the exact moment the hard realism starts to slip into fantasy. Is it real? Is it real to the characters? As much of a puzzle as the surreal location(s) it takes place in, TCO1700H is a joy to navigate and solve.
I was lucky to get to read her stuff in junior high on handwritten notebook paper! It was captivating then & even better now! Keep writing -I can't wait to read more.
