Hidden Saga #6

Hidden Desire

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Culley Rune is the perfect guy—as far as anyone can see. Inside, he knows he's unlovable, unworthy, unwanted. He's done terrible things in service to his father, the corrupt leader of the Dark Council--including playing a pivotal role in the mysterious new drug epidemic that's sweeping the human population of the world.

Now that he's lost his one chance at a real relationship, there's no reason to change his ways. He might as well take his place at his mercenary father's side. But when he runs into a strange human girl in the worst possible place at the worst possible time, he can't seem to stop himself from getting involved, and he may have found the one person on earth who can see past his beautiful facade to the heavily-guarded heart that lies beneath.

In this sixth book of the Hidden Saga, as the battle between the Dark and Light courts rages on, the fate of the human race may lie in Culley's hands, and the fate of his heart may rest with the last girl he'd ever have expected to breach his defenses.

I love writing, and I love LOVE. I've been writing seriously since 2010 and have written 35 books (and counting!) Most of them are YA and NA romantic fantasy. There's a dash of paranormal and dystopian romance in my book list as well.

I'm honored to be an Amazon bestseller and multi-award winning author of the bestselling Hidden Saga, which is a 10-book Fae fantasy romance series, the heart-pounding Crimson Accord vampire romance series.

My new Romantasy series, Age of Fae, begins with A Court Bright and Broken, which released on Valentine's Day 2025. Book 2, A Kingdom Ruthless and Radiant comes out May 23rd 2025!

I live in Rhode Island where I write in my car at the beach year round and sometimes crave the heat and humidity of Mississippi, where I grew up. I love hearing from my readers! Reach out and say hi anytime.

Thank goodness Andun has been dealt with!

Excellent tale of heartache and redemption, forgiveness and retribution. The best part is, as always, the magic. Amy Patrick once again tugs us into a magical world right beyond our sight and covers us with the glamour. Excellent story!!!

The Hidden Saga is one that will inspire your imagination and ignite your soul. Each book digs further into the world of the Light and Dark Elves, the missions of their leaders and how a mini revolution is beginning. I'd like to say just jump into the series anywhere and begin reading but this is one that has a continuing story line with characters that reappear. We met Culley in the other books, mostly from number five as Ava's appointed love, but this is his own book told in his viewpoint. We've known him to be superficial in appearance and how he lives his life, something the Dark Elves are known to do. Who would have thought he'd turn 180 degrees and do something thoughtful for someone without reward? Not me, but then again love can change anybody. The fight against the S drug is still strong and the people are willing to fight against it with Culley's help. Patrick does an outstanding job with details and imagery creating a magical and dangerous world. Thank you Amy for my early reviewers copy.

Absolutely Amazing

The entire Hidden series is so very great, good, exciting....... I can't say enough about it. Book 6 just like the first 5 did not disappoint. Amy Patrick is very talented, she's not one of those authors who use the same few descriptive words over and over. Hidden Desire wraps up the series with a very fancy bow! I wanted to scream at Culley, choke him, slap him around, and........you'll have to read it or you'll never know.

Oh...my....goodness!!! Culley Rune is one of my favorite characters!! I think because he is such a complex character, with scars from being unloved by his heartless father & mother. This is one if my favorite books in the series!! Tim Cox did an awesome job with Culley’s voice!!

Laney & Cullen!! I absolutely loved Cullen’s story!!
Not sure how I can review it without giving away spoilers, but it was such a good read. It was fun to watch Cullen struggle with his demons or should I say his Father? It was great seeing him interact with Laney and how Laney without even knowing was slowly bringing the best out of Cullen. But is it too late for both Cullen and Laney? Read to find out!! Trust me it was a fun ride!! Several issues get resolved from the past book and I was happy to see how things ended up on this book. Can’t wait for the next audiobook to drop.

I thought that the narrator did a fabulous job portraying Cullen. Loved listening to Cullen’s POV.

Love this series so much!!!

This is one of the best series I’ve read. I love all the characters who’ve been introduced so far! I find it amazing how someone who the author paints in a bad light can earn redemption and a happily ever ever by the time the next story is told. Loved Culley’s story!

Exhilarating!

Laney and Cullen’s story is full of ups and downs, through various loopholes and back again. Their love story is a real true one that builds from the inside out. You will be caught up right from the very beginning and addicted even more with every turn of the page.

Couldn't put it down

Each book in this series is so compelling. I can't get enough of the love stories that Amy creates. Though each book tells a love story, each story is so unique.

This was my first in the series to listen to on audio instead of read and I was not disappointed! I loved the story almost as much as the original MC ones! This world grows and grows and this one will tug on your heart strings in so many ways! I totally recommend it!

I took my time to finish and read this book. It was good, annoying at times because the people I wanted to get together wouldn't, but in the end I wasn't disappointed.

Culley Rune the Good Samaritan… quite the change from the egotistical jerk we saw him as in book 5. Having stolen crystallized saol water residue during his time spent at Altum, Culley’s father, Audun Rune has had it processed into a powerful drug known as S which is rampantly addicting and killing members of the human population. Culley now is tasked with distributing samples of the drug in the L.A. party scene and high crime areas.

Waiting one day in a bad part of town to make another drop, he spots Laney, a young woman who is being accosted by three men and reluctantly steps in to whisk her off to safety. It’s only as he gets here to his car he realizes the girl is blind.

Supreme joke of the universe that he finally meets a woman who is unaffected by his elven glamour and who finally sees the man behind the beautiful mask.

Now he struggles between the man he has always been, heartlessly following every order his power-mad father makes and the kind and charming man Laney sees with her heart.

I’m so glad that Culley gets a chance at redemption for his past misdeeds and Laney is absolutely adorable. You can’t help but wish for this girl to achieve her goals but she is almost too good to be true. Just enough horror in her background to stun you at how positive she is over everything, but she can hold her own against Culley’s urge to protect her from the world.

In fact, only two things bothered me here. There is a scene of drinking (she’s 18) and her “human chaperone” keeps dumping glass after glass of champagne into her. It made the guy look like he was trying to get her drunk enough to assault her. Thankfully not, but for a “good guy” that was a bullshit move.

Also, when we finally found out where Laney is really from. How much coincidence are we to swallow that he manages to find her while out on a tour of the dark elves’ various drug facilities in scattered across the nation?

Eh, who cares. You just want them to find each other again so he can apologize for being a jerk and hurting her in the first place in his misguided attempt to keep her safe.

Another satisfying story finished and it looks like we’ll be leaving the US and are off to a new continent for the next three books as we observe the ancient European dark court elves who haven’t all dismantled their fan pod groups… groups of girls to form charmed harems for elven actors and musicians and mostly snatched from the US and hauled to European shores.

But hey, these end up being romances in the end, so it’s going to be okay?

Hidden Desire Book 6 of the Hidden Saga

Oh my I have decided that this book is my favorite in the series so far. Amy Patrick brings Culley and Laney together in a delightful, hilarious at times, love inspired story. Culley, son of the Dark Elf leader, who has had more women issues then you can shake a stick at, finds himself protecting a young pretty human woman from the seedier elements of Los Angeles.
Laney's number one problem is she is blind. But this feisty young woman is on a mission and nothing and no one is going to get in her way.
The story involves drug addition, drug pushers, drug producers, addiction clinics, Light Elves, Dark Elves, an animal, humans and healers. There are moments of out right laughter and then times of deep sorrow and tears.
Culley is trying to change and not be like his father, but his struggles to stay friends with Laney go from bad to worse as he realizes his job is the cause of Laney's heartache.
The story moves smoothly and all sorts of emotions rise and fall as Culley and Laney work sometimes together and others apart, trying to shut down the Dark Elf lords drug manufacturing and distribution system. In the end I really really loved the story's conclusion!
I loved the cat bath scene ..... Still wiping tears of laughter remembering it again!
An A+ effort Amy Patrick!!

This book was different than the previous books, as it was in the voice of a male character. The author had played around with that in some previous books, but only by chapters, not an entire book. However; it was really good. I really enjoyed getting to actually sink into this Culley character and see what he was all about. It does seem like the further you go with these books, the more a like they are. Someone always thinks they are not good enough for the other one, or the other one is held back by them. So, they constantly are doing the noble thing, which is to keep themselves away from this person...which hurts both people. It is like they have never read a supernatural romance before! Don't they have books there?!

Fun and romantic read ~

Just when you start to get cynical about the stories you read about young love you come across a book like this. Full of regret and little hope you are catapulted into the heart and mind of someone who is still capable of finding hope of a future full of sunshine and love with a girl who you really come to believe is capable of providing the kind of love that’s realistic yet forgiving and melting the ice surrounding a heart that is callous. Definitely worth the time and effort to read and end up feeling pretty darn good ~

Let me start by saying, I started out sour about Culley and Ava, I thought they were the perfect pair BUT like I’ve said before, the author has away of changing your mind completely and leaving you happy and satisfied with the way things go. I LOVE THIS BOOK. So much. I was dreading it coming to an end!
Every book in this saga has been amazing so far. I don’t have the slightest clue how I’m going to handle it when I’ve finished this saga.

This is a MUST read series of books.

This is my first time listening to a book narrated by Tim Cox and he did so amazing! He brought Culley to life!

In this continuation of the Hidden Saga, Culley is supposed to be working by doing his fathers bidding pushing S until a girl stops him in his tracks. He finds himself being torn between what his father wants and what the heart wants.

Ok, done. I really liked this story, i thought it was a little different from the previous ones since it takes place more in the human world and in Los Angeles. Culley´s mood swings and his sudden change of sides was not so convincing. The end is kind of open and this series seems to be continuing but i will leave it for now. The end to Laney and Culley´s story was not surprising but ok.

This book had a very nice twist to it. I really liked Laney. I am so glad she and Culley worked it all out. I was also happy to see that Asher and Ava had a role to play in this book. It was nice seeing their development some.

Loved it!

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one for Culley's point of view as I didn't really like him much in the last book. But he he changed and I ended up really liking him. Great series and highly recommend it.

Exciting conclusion

This was probably the most exciting of the six books in the series. Culley was a hated character in the previous books, but his character growth in this book is phenomenal and still believable.
