Peyton Cross’s IT job barely pays enough to cover her student loans, the rent on her tiny NYC apartment, and the money she puts toward her father’s medical bills. She hopes her hard work will get her a promotion -- but the last kind of attention she expects is a dinner date with her sinfully sexy boss.
She’s even more shocked when he offers her a temporary marriage contract. The money involved would take care of her problems and then some…but if she agrees, she can’t let on how attracted she is to him. She’ll get her heart broken if she doesn’t treat this like a business transaction.
Thane Wainwright started with nothing and earned his money. He works hard and gets what he wants…and he’s wanted Peyton since the moment he laid eyes on her. But his aspirations -- for himself and for her -- go far beyond the business world.
The contract is the perfect way to make sure Peyton is right for him…but he worries that when their time is up, she’ll take his money and walk away with her heart unchanged. How can he show her he deserves her trust -- especially when his no-good ex gets involved?
Take This Ring is a full-length romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happy ending. For readers 18+ only due to mature content.
Peyton is having a hard time making ends meet but she loves what she does at her job. Thane is her boss and they finally meet when she gets mugged outside of a club. Thane is immediately drawn to Peyton and wants to know more about her. Thane offers Peyton something that she cannot refuse but she is undecided because of her father. The chemistry between Peyton and Thane is very hot and they ultimately have to decide if they want this relationship.
I thought this was a good read. Peyton doesn't know how she is going to make ends meet especially with her father being sick and Thane decides to put an offer he doesn't think she can refuse. Thane spends more time with Peyton and he begins to see what is under the wall she puts up. I really enjoying reading about Thane and Peyton.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! I started reading planning on only reading a part of it then taking a nap. Next thing I knew I was finished with the book. I couldn't wait to see how the relationship between Thane and Peyton played out, as well as how did it turn out between Peyton and her sister. This was a wonderful read, even though I'm not a fan of billionaire romance books. This one was tastefully and realistically written.
This was a nice story. Complete, with a HEA. The Hawaiian-Filipino-Jamaican heroine works for an Italian boss. He was spurned in love by a previous business partner and finance and now wants to contract his way to a marriage and partnership. The author did a good job with the characters and even gives an epilogue.
The storyline was good I enjoyed Peyton she was strong proud and vulnerable at the same time. Thane was powerful, smart but never lost sight of where he came from. Lana was a birch a sister who enjoyed knocking her sister down. The whole book was good a and I would highly recommend this book. I was given this book for an honest review.
I wasn't really a fan of this book. Peyton was supposed to be this smart, independent, business minded woman but she turned out to be anything but that. The whole fake marriage plot is overused and predictable. Thane was ok , at least he was a self made billionaire. He was pretty weak in my opinion.
I chose this rating theme characters came alive in my mind although I could've smacked the sister for acting like it was only her father. It was nice the way they worked a and fought their way their problems I would recommend it to my friends it was a good read for mde
This was a nice little story of Thane and Peyton. The only thing I hated was that they couldn't be honest with each other about their feelings. Peyton sister was a bitch!! It was never explained why she acted the way she did. And then you have the delusional bratty spoiled ex Scarlett. How you still claiming this man and he has clearly moved on!! SMH
I finished this book within a couple of hours. I really wanted Peyton to put her sister with attitude in her place. I was disappointed that it didn't happen but the characters were written well and held my interest along the way.
A beautiful story that started out as business and grew into so much more. I was rooting for Peyton and Thane the whole story and by the end I was not disappointed. Great story Roxy! You always blow me away!
A very cute story. It is so hooked in real life with a little billionaire fantasy stuck in to make it sparkle. They go through real issues, and figure out how to make it work. Great reading.
I expected the inner turmoil to solely rest on Peyton, but it turned out to be on Thane. I enjoyed it. Peyton is a firecracker! I loved how the story showed Thane's vulnerable side.
Dear God's of rushed ending please have mercy on me. Yes this book wrapped up nicely with a cure bow and everything but, I just needed more. I don't know, it was a very nice book and lovely story....just missed that extra something.
3.5 stars. The book was okay until the end, which seemed pretty rushed. Would loved to have read about some type of closure between Peyton and her sister.
Really enjoyed this book , liked the writing style and the story was engaging. Good pace with real full characters. Definitely one for your holiday read
