Tagged as contemporary romance, but sample reveals she's a prostitute and he's her paid BDSM-ish customer at the club while her buddy Zac watches. A previous customer got "too rough" with her. She lies to her family.
Also needed editing. Missing punctuation and words and robotic dialogue (didn't use contractions.)

The beginning of the story had me hooked and I managed to read it in a day, could not put it down even when I had a hundred other things to take care. I am so glad it was over the long weekend and I didn’t have to put it down and I could take care of the other things later. Aly and Cole were steamy from the beginning and that didn’t let up.
Aly was the only girl raised with her two brothers Nate and Brody and father after her mother died when Aly was an infant. She has always been the Princess in their eyes and can do no wrong. She is tired of being the good one. She now lives in a different state from her father and her brother Nate just moves to California for his company. She works in a club but not what you are expecting.
Cole goes into the club Aly works at and meet and the attraction is instantaneous between them. He finds out the next morning that she is his best friend and business partner’s little sister and knows he is out of luck, there is no way Nate will be okay with this. But he cannot keep away no matter hard he tries.
They sneak around and continue to see each other, including a trip to his family’s cabin. How long will that last without Nate and her other brother Brody finding out? Not too long as it turns out after Cole screws up one evening.
This book was a cliff hanger and boy was the ending just that. I cannot wait to see what happens next. I am already trying to figure out in my head.

Illusions is book one in this series, and it does end in a cliffhanger. Overall, this is a fun and well-written story with great characters. I loved how Aly is the princess with her dad and brothers, all the while leading a secret life that would shock them all. I found it somewhat hard to believe that her brother who lived close by had no idea where she worked. Still, it was fun seeing her interact with her family regarding her job, especially with Cole in the picture. Cole is sexy and definitely has a sweet side. With the exception of his issues with his ex-wife, I really loved him, and I can see the potential for his growth in this series.
For the most part, I enjoyed Cole and Aly’s relationship, which definitely began in an unconventional way. My only two complaints were that I didn’t feel like there was enough build up to Aly’s declaration of love. It felt rushed. I would have also preferred to have it remain a secret from her brothers longer. Still, I recommend this fun and sexy 4.5 star read, and I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

Illusions by J C Thompson

The first book in a new series, Illusions by J C Thompson is all about Aly and Cole. The story is excellently written and is written from both characters POV, a writing style that I always enjoy! The book had some great descriptive writing in it and this captured my interest from the very beginning. I found it extremely hard to put down and I read it in a few hours. The synopsis of this book dragged me in but once I started reading I was hooked.
The story is about Aly and Cole and takes place over a relatively short period of time. Having grown up in an all-male household Aly found it difficult to be a girl! She was their ‘Princess’ and no one or nothing was good enough for her – having finally escaped her very loving but over protective father and brothers, Aly now co-owns an upscale nightclub ‘Illusions’ with her best friend, Zac. Illusions has a secret VIP area and this is where Aly first meets Cole.
Cole is part of a stressful business and fresh from opening a new office he heads to Illusions where he hopes to destress by getting more than a drink and taking advantage of their VIP package. What Cole doesn’t bank on is meeting a woman he can’t resist who then turns out to be his best friends and business partners little sister. They call her Princess – he knows that she’s anything but.
I absolutely loved the introduction to Cole from Aly’s POV. I think it has got to be the best introduction to a character ever! I really could imagine what he looked like. If this doesn’t make you want to read this book nothing will!!
‘Just as the door clicks open, I look up from under my eyelashes. Suddenly I can’t breathe, and it’s not my nerves this time, it is the man in front of me that has taken my breath away. He is tall, easily six foot four. His hair is light, not quite blonde, but not really brown. He has the bluest eyes; they aren’t dark, more like crystal-blue. Those lips – oh god those lips; they are full and look so f****ing soft. The scruff on his face is maybe a couple of days old, making him look more like a man. I want to feel that scruff on my thighs, my stomach, and anywhere else he wants to put his mouth. His arms aren’t overly huge, but they are big enough to have images of him holding me against a wall play through my mind. As my eyes slowly make their way down the rest of him, I see the definite outline of his hardening c*** behind his zipper. From the looks of it, his height isn’t the only thing that is impressive. When my eyes finally make their way to his face, I see his knowing smirk. “Like what you see, Kitten?” Oh. God, even that voice is sexy.
As soon as I read this I was hooked right until the very last page when I saw those 3 dreaded words every reader hates ….. ‘To Be Continued’. I honestly cannot wait to see what happens in the next book. I’m sure it going to be as hot and addictive as book 1.
The author has a great writing style that I found kept my interest throughout the whole book, the characters were likeable and as it is written from both of their POV I feel you get to know what each of them is thinking and how they are feeling more than if it was written from just one characters POV. The story flowed well and had a great pace. It really was a fantastic story.
I would definitely recommend Illusions by J C Thompson, you will not be disappointed.

When I started this book I thought I had it all figured out...boy meets forbidden girl...girl falls for boy with commitment phobia….JC Thompson gives this book so much more. There is twist after twist thrown in along with lust, deception, friendship, loyalty, betrayal and a cliffhanger!
“Reality is nothing but an illusion. If you think about it, people only see in us what we want them to see. Do you ever truly know someone, or is it all an illusion? We can be anyone we want to be; all we have to do is play the part. Simply make people believe we are the person that they see.” Illusion~this is what Aly has done to hide her true self and business from her very overprotective pop and brothers. She's afraid of sharing all of herself to them in fear of disappointing them. Her dad being the Chief of Police would find the most conflicting emotions about it. Proud that she has a successful business, but would despise what type of business she owns.
Aly finds herself helping out a coworker which lands her in the arms of Cole. He is like no man she's ever met before and unfortunately she soon finds out he is one of her brothers friends and business parents. Besides her brothers being overprotective with anyone she dates it has the potential of outing her business.
“ I can’t even remember the last time I wanted the same girl more than once. I’ve always been a one-time kind of guy. Going back for more always causes problems. More than once and most girls think you want a relationship. I’ve been there, done that. Nothing like a divorce where the woman who is supposed to love you *messes things up for you.* I haven’t heard from her in almost a year, so hopefully she is done asking for money. If I am lucky, she found someone else to suck money from….”
“Ria was supposed to be there the night you came in. I wasn’t supposed to be there at all”... “Wait! So you mean that I would have hooked up with Ria instead of you?”“Yes.... She feels so smothered by all the men in her life who are trying to protect her that she decides to rebel and work at a club called Illusions. She is strong willed, independent and full of sass. She is determined to make it on her own without help and without having to tell her secret about where she works. She hides behind an illusion that she shows her family, so they do not have a distorted view of her and her real life, but at work she can be herself and feel free. This all changes when she meets Cole.
Cole is a sexy successful business man who knows what he wants in the bedroom, but when it comes to love, his past makes it hard for him to trust and let any woman in. This is until he meets Aly. Cole and Aly meet at Illusions. He is a VIP customer who wants to have a good time with a woman with no strings attached, but that all changes when he walks into the private room and sees Aly on the bed waiting for him. From the moment they look at each other there are instant sparks and sexual attraction.

I could not put this book down and was disappointed when it was over. There is no HEA for this couple, the book ends on a mighty heavy cliffhanger and I am eagerly waiting to see what happens in book two. This was an amazing debut novel by J.C. Thompson and I would recommend Illusions to anyone looking for a hot, emotional and suspenseful read. I cannot wait to see what she has next for her readers.

Illusions is the first book in the Club Series, by J.C Thompson. It is a sexy story that is full of suspense, mystery and a lot of steamy romance.
Aly’s mother died when she was a baby and so Aly grew up in a home full of overprotective men- her father and two brothers. In the eyes of her family Aly is perfect, an ideal daughter and sister- who can do no wrong. She is their “Princess”.
Sick and tired of having to live up to her ‘Perfect Princess’ reputation and always following the rules, Aly decides to move across the country and set up a new life. Together, with her best friend Zac, they open a club called Illusions. Although their business appears to be an upscale nightclub on the surface, it’s what happens behind the scenes in the exclusive VIP rooms that sets it apart. It is in these rooms that Aly can let go of her “Perfect Princess” label and fully embrace the Naughty Vixen she really is.
Cole is overworked and stressed out from opening a new branch office in the city. So, what better way to decompress and unwind than to experience the VIP services of the club he has heard so much about. When Cole encounters Aly at the club, sparks fly and they have an instant sizzling connection. Cole isn’t looking for a relationship, in fact after a rally messy divorce and a difficult ex-wife he really doesn’t want anything more than a ‘hook-up’. So why can’t he stop thinking about her and the passionate night they spent together?
Things get even more interesting when Aly goes to meet her brothers for breakfast the next morning and finds Cole is also there- as he is her brothers’ best friend and business partner. Aly is shocked to say the least. Cole knows about her secret life and that secret would shock and disappoint her family if they were ever to find out. Can she trust him to be discreet? Aly and Cole decide they must stay away from each other, but they can’t- their desire for one another is too great. Cole feels a need to care for and protect Aly and she feels drawn to Cole like a moth to a flame. Add a manipulating ex-wife, blackmail, danger and a heap of sexual tension to this mix and the story really soared and drew me in.
This book is well written, with fully developed characters and storyline. It is edgy and intense at times- I found myself on the edge of my seat devouring the pages to find out what happened next. I couldn’t put it down and read the whole book in a day. The story ends on a huge cliff hanger and I really can’t wait to continue Aly and Coles’ story in the next book.

Aly grew up in a home with her father and two brothers who have always referred to her as Princess. Of course being the only girl and a baby at that she can do no wrong in their eyes. Being the princess most definitely can take a toll on someone if you would not want to be identified as the goody two shoes your whole life. When Aly moves away to she finally gets the chance to break from her good girl role. She opens a nightclub Illusions with her best friend only this isn't the normal nightclub. Down the hall has a VIP room where Aly says she can transition from princess to vixen.
Cole is stressed out and overworked so he decides it is time to try this new nightclub to let off some steam. When he walks through the door of the VIP room he is more than surprised at what he finds there. Although he is not looking for a relationship he can not deny that there is an electric current between him and the lady he has decided he will call Kitten. When he leaves for the night, he can not seem to get her off his mind which is not something normal for him. He does not normally do the repeat thing but there is just something different about her.
Aly’s dad and brother have came into town since her brother owns his own company. They want to have breakfast with their princess so Aly and her best friend venture off for to meet them. Aly greets her father and her brothers upon entering and just as she is settling in, the seat that was empty next to her brother is now filled by Cole. Her brother introduces Cole as his business partner and best friend. Aly or shall I say “kitten” is stunned; she excuses herself to the restroom to gain her composure. When she attempts to leave in the hallway stands Cole and he tells her not to go to work tonight. When she asks him why she should not go he tells her that her brother wants to visit the club tonight. Now she is worried, can she trust him to keep her secret? This book was woe it will pull you in and keep you engrossed. The only thing that will shock you is the Huge Cliffhanger. WHAT??????

Be warned from the first chapter to the last you will have your panties melted off, be in love with four brothers, a gay guy and Alys best friend Ria. The hot new club illusions is owned by Aly and Zack, what goes on in the VIP area isn't really legal, but will it is awful steamy!!! Aly has always been the "princess" in her brothers and pops eyes. She open the club to have a place of her own. This is where she meets Cole. Cole is a Alpha male and his new obsession is Aly. What Aly doesn't know is that Cole is Nate (Alys brother) best friend and business partner. Cole sends mix singles to Aly and Aly has had enough. She tells Cole how she feels. Is it to late or will these two be able to be together?
This book ends on a cliffhanger! If this is just the first book in this series I can't wait for the others. I need the others now.

Illusions is the first novel in the Club Series written by J.C. Thompson, and omg. I was so into the book, that I completely forgot this was not a stand alone. I finished the book, and was just sitting there. Wondering how long I would have to wait. So I immediately went on Amazon to find out when the second book is coming out, and I cheered. It’s coming out this week. Yay!! No waiting. I already preordered the second one. Can’t wait to read it.
When I first started reading this book, I had to consciously push through the first several pages, as the subject is not my favorite. But what a story!! I got lost in the story reading Aly’s story, and her perseverance in the face of her brothers’ ire. It was a really good story and well written. Aly is the princess of her family. She was raised by her brothers and dad, and could do no wrong in their eyes. But Aly is keeping them in the dark about what she does for a living. Her web of lies is in serious danger of being discovered, when she meets Cole. She doesn’t realize that Cole is her brother’s business partner and really good friend. Cole meet Aly, not realizing that this is his good friend’s sister. So he is caught off guard the following day, when he meets his friend’s sister, only to find out she is the woman he can’t stop thinking about. I enjoyed Aly’s character, and her strength of will. This is a book that I literally devoured. I started it while waiting for my pizza order, and just kept reading it until I finished. The author did a fantastic job of making the story fresh and new, at least for me. I recommend this book to those looking for a hot, steamy, fast paced story that makes you laugh out loud.

Ok... so this book was really really good. Now, with that being said it ends with an awful cliff hanger. I mean she leaves us laying out there holding our breath waiting to see what happens next.
Now with that being said, this book keeps you moving in so many different directions you don't know whether you are coming or going. The name fits the story perfectly. Lives can be just what it says, an Illusion. It is amazing just how perfect it fits in today's world. We can create the picture of just what we want people to believe.
Aly, shows just how true that statement is. She gives her family the Illusion of what she wants them to see and know. She has them believing that she is innocent and leads the prefect life of a "princess". But, in reality she has discovered that sometimes the definition of "princess" is what makes you stand out and feel special in you own right. Armed with her two best friends she has created the ultimate illusion of that life.
Cole never expects to find himself unknowingly connected to his best friends sister. The thing is, the Illusion of the life that she has is in essence what seems to draw him in even further. The need to protect and care for her keeps drawing him back feeling things that he knows he shouldn't. But one taste and he is hooked unable to look away. Add to that the promise of helping to protect and look after her because she is the princess to all of them he can't step away.. not even if he wanted to.
This story really was excellently written. Even though now I am having to sit and wait for the sequel, which is taking way to long to get here, because we all know that it should have been released like yesterday so we can finish getting our fix. I mean it is like trying to take away that one drug we all need. I found myself reading this book in just one day, which with my schedule says alot. Once I picked it up, I was unable to put it back down. It flows very smoothly and leaves you handing on waiting to see what direction it will take you next. The suspense keeps you tied up tight hanging on to see if her family figures out, who the stranger is, why things are happening, etc. I hope this is enough to see you wanting to see what happens when it is full of Illusions. But, remember.. I hope you have patience because I have a limited amount and I can not wait to find out the next chapter.

This is my first read from this author, and I can say with complete certainty it won't be my last, she completely won me over with this sexy little story!! I highly recommend this one, loved every single minute I spent with these two!!

If you want suspense, love and hot sex, then this book is for you because it has it all. Aly is the only girl in a family with two over protective brothers and a just as over protective father. She is their perfect little Princess or so they think! Sick of being the perfect princess she moves and opens a hot, sex club, Illusion with her friend Zac.
Cole Stressed with work decides to relieve his stress with a night of hot sex at Illusion and this is where he meets Aly. They have a passionate night together and leave thinking they will never see each other again…..but life has other plans!
The book has bits that I found confusing at the start, I felt that it needed more details but I kept reading and I’m so glad I did because I enjoyed it. It was a quick read with a cliffhanger at the end that left me yelling ‘WHAT???” at my Ipad.
This is the first time I’ve read anything written by this author and even if there wasn’t a cliffhanger in this book that will keep me reading to find out what happens, I’ll definitely be reading other books from this author.

"Illusions,” by J.C. Thompson is Book 1 of The Club Series. From just reading the book description I was completely intrigued. Aly was raised as the only girl in a household of men and always had her fathers and brothers being her protectors, and calling her “princess.” Now as an adult who is no longer directly under their watchful eyes, she has taken control of her life and her satisfactionand owns a business (that the men in her family are completely unaware of) where she is in charge of providing a place for people to quench their desires. She meets Cole, the handsome charismatic businessman under rather unexpected and heated circumstances, then finds out he is friends and business partners with her brothers. This encounter, that should’ve remained secret, was inevitably brought to light after a breakfast get together with her family. The attraction between Cole and Aly wasn’t something either of them could ignore, and as a result of some rather interesting events and Cole’s conniving, gold-digging ex-wife, all the secrets had to be divulged to Aly’s family.
The book had great potential, but overall the whole story seemed to move too fast without as much character and story development as I would've liked. The concept of the story was great, but I would have liked to know more about the characters as well as a detailed description of Illusions so that I could imagine exactly what it was like there. I read the entire book in one setting, which is usually what I do when I'm totally engrossed and involved in a book, but with this one I actually ended up feeling like I had actually just quickly skimmed it and missed a huge chunk of the story. I do find myself wondering what's to come in Book 2 of The Club Series and I will definitely be picking it up once it’s released. I just hope that the author takes her time in telling the story with the next book so that I can feel more involved and engrossed in the series than just the potential I imagined by reading the book description.

The story is a complete page- turner that turned into much more than I had anticipated after reading the first few pages! The author selected a fantastic title for the book! I think the author did an awesome job in telling a clear story with that flowed really well! The characters were created and implemented into the story in just the right way!
I liked all of the characters a lot! Aly and Cole being the main characters made for excellent story that I hope to see in future story of this author! The story ended with some questions that totally left wanting to read more of this story! I was in totally shock in how the story ended. I was blown away when Cole had what he realized was a nightmare of epic proportions. Even then, I was still blown away and at was happening in the story! I usually do not like to read a book that leaves me with so many unanswered questions but for this book it totally works. I look forward to the next edition to this story! This was a short but hot read with plenty of drama to hold your attention. I will say I didn't know the book was a duet so when it ended with a hell of a cliffy, I was super annoyed but I'll be diving into the conclusion shortly. lol

They don't know she works, and owns, the cities hottest night club, a place that caters to some special clientele. She loves them dearly and is thrilled when her brothers move to live in the same city with her but has no idea how she'll keep her secrets. She's not sure they'll like the girl being the mask.
Cole has been best friends with Nate since college; they even went into business together. Their business is booming and they're opening up a new branch but the stress of the opening and his greedy, gold-digging ex-wife, is driving him insane. He just needs a break. He's heard all about an exclusive night club and decides to walk on the wild side for one night...a night that changes the rest of his life.

I loved this book it was different though something like this had been done before but J.C. had different twists on it this particular story. First off you have Aly a girl who was the Princess. Not in the normal way you would think so, she wasn’t the kind of girl that who would turn her nose up to you or anything like that, no. But in the mind of her father and brothers, she could do no wrong.
She was their princess if she liked it or not. Aly though she was nothing but the Princess. Behind the scenes, she lived a very different like than the one that her brothers and father would like her. One that if they knew would destroy that image that they had for her.
Comes in Cole. She meets him at work and has one of the best sexual experiences she had ever had in her entire life. How they connected was wonderful, sexy, hot. Did I say sexy? She knows his name but he doesn’t ask for hers only calls her Kitten. One time deal right?
No. When she goes to breakfast the next morning she sees Cole. Her brother's business partner and best friend. Crap! What happens when the man from last night can shatter everything you had hidden from the guys in your family in one sentence.
You, of course, start to fall in like with him even if he keeps telling you that he might not be able to settle down completely. No matter what is happening in their life they come together. They work so well together and even when things around you seem to be going down the tube you hold onto one another.
This story is amazing. One of a kind really. I fell in love with Aly and Cole and want to read more. Know there is a cliff hanger at the end of this and I almost screamed and threw my phone. If it hadn’t been for my sleeping husband that probably would have happened..

This story is about Aly and Cole and finding love in the most unusual places. Aly is co owner of a bar named Illusions and it is not your usual bar, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. It didn't start out that way, a customer kept asking one of the workers to sleep with him and offering her lots of money. She finally accepted and after that he brought more friends and it all started from there.
Their chance meeting happened after she returned to work from being assaulted. Cole was her first customer the first night back. He was gorgeous and sexy and the sex was amazing. But little did she know that it would all take an interesting turn.
They didn't expect that they would be meeting each other the next morning at breakfast. Cole was a business partner of Aly's brothers and it was a very interesting meeting, trying to hide the fact that they knew each other and where they met and the circumstances.
Cole was one of those guys who did not want a commitment. So it was an on and off again type of scenario, sex when they needed it. As time went on, there were confessions sent by texts and many other things that happened to them that made the relationship blossom.
Cole had a crazy ex and she was making things hard for them to further their relationship. There is a lot of things that was found out and tried to make right. Aly stood her ground and gained his trust at the end of the story.
Can't wait to see where the next story takes us. J. C. Thompson is a very good writer and I look forward to reading more of her work.

Aly leads a double life. She appears one way to her family, yet lives her life in a completely different way. She lives her life by deceiving those she loves by lies of distraction and omission. It’s an art quite frankly.
Cole is a smart, independent, emotionally strong man who was burned by his first wife. He will never get married, never get close to a woman again.
H and h meet at the club Illusions. Illusion is defined as a Deceptive Appearance or Impression and that’s exactly what the night club Illusions is. It’s full of smoke and mirrors to take away from what it really is.
Cole and Aly meet not knowing that they have brother/best friend in common. There is a spark immediately and because of the nature of the meeting, it will never go far. OR WILL IT???
This story ends on a cliff hanger.
I liked the strength of both main characters and I enjoyed “meeting” Aly’s business partner and friend Zac and their best friend Ria. One of the things that threw me off in this story was the fact that Aly’s family thinks she is such a princess and when the truth comes out about her illusion, they just shrug it off – like it was nothing. I would have expected more disruption from them. I’m sure it will all be revealed in the ensuing books. I look forward to finding out how all the situations resolve themselves.

J.C. Thompson just totally rocked my world and this is my first book by her but it certainly won't be my last. Right from the start, this author gives us a gripping prologue that sucks you in and doesn't let go. Once I started, I could not put this book down until the last word was read and then I was ready to toss my kindle across the room.
Illusions is a sexy and intense romance that was fast, captivating, edgy, and left me with such a hangover. This book was so good and such a fresh breath of air. Full of passion and intrigue, this author takes her readers on a journey that won't soon be forgotten. The Club Series is my new addiction and I am on pins and needles for the next.

Illusions by J C Thompson is a five star read. Illusions is the first book in the club series. It's not normally a book I would go for, but I am so glad I did. It's the hottest read, Cole and Aly are such great characters, they feel real. The relationship between them all and "princess" Aly is so true, anyone who has older brothers will be able to relate. I honestly think even if you don't have older brothers you would still get it. The story keeps you gripped from start to finish. There's the developing relationship between the two main characters. The other characters Zac and Ria, Alys business partner and best friend, and her brothers Brody and Nate are all well thought out and easily lovable in their own right. But there is also an underlying story that is developing with some other characters and that has some major intrigue. I literally read half this book in work today, it was so good. I couldn't put it down. Sex is a major part of the book, but it enhances it rather than detracting from the story or just there to fill space. The sex is as well written and placed as the characters. J C Thompson says that this was an accidental book, I really do believe it was a happy accident. I have loved Illusions and will be stalking J C Thompson until the second book in the series Shattered illusions is released as I know I haven't had enough of Cole and Alys story. I may even have to demand more hot sex in the next book, as believe me it was hot hot hot. If you want a great read go buy this book, I really thought it was a five star read.

The next day, Aly went to breakfast with her family and meets her brother’s business partner. Cole didn’t know Aly was hos business partner’s little sister until breakfast the following morning. When Aly sees Cole at the table, she starts feeling sick and leaves. When things start happening around the club and to Aly, she tries hard not to let her brothers find out. When Cole and Aly become friends, that aren’t in a relationship but are in a relationship, things get a little complicated. When Aly tries to tell Cole that she wants more, he pushes her away at every turn. When she tells her brother Brody that she is the owner of Illusions when her best friend, Zac, is arrested he gets upset because she lied to them all about where she works. When she and Cole spend time together it feels right and neither want to give it up. When Aly finds out that Cole was married and he still occasionally sees her, she flips out and refuses to listen to him explain. When Aly is hit by a car, Cole feels like his entire world has been shattered.
J.C. Thompson is a wonderful writer who knows what to write about. When you read Illusions, you will be enchanted with the characters and the plot is worthy of a movie. You will laugh at some of the things Cole and Aly get up to, you will also get mad at Cole for some of the boneheaded things he does. But in the end, Thompson knows that everyone deserves a happy ending and that’s what you will get.

Illusions is not only about a man and a woman figuring out if a relationship is worth the risk of hurting others but also includes a little drama and a lot of suspense. Quite a bit happens in this story and at the pace it goes you can’t help but keep reading to the very end. And oh, what an ending!
This is the first book I have read by J.C. Thompson and was pleasantly surprised as to how easily I became wrapped up in this story. I love reading dual points of view to understand what our main characters are thinking and to get a sense of their backgrounds. Illusions has all the bases covered in a story that I look for and it moves fairly quickly. I would have liked for a little more lingering in a few of the scenes but overall it kept my attention nicely.

Are we ever truly us when we meet people? That is the question asked at the beginning of this book. Aly is the biggest illusionist out there. I want to think that I am me no matter who I met or who I disappoint. If people cannot accept you as you are then they don’t belong in your life. No one wants to lose family, but if what you desire and what they desire for you is in conflict then you have to choose what is healthier for you mentally, physically, emotionally and your personal growth.
Aly is hiding her true self from her family. Putting on a illusion because she is too scared to disappoint her family. Her first day back to work is a night she will never forget. I didn’t too much like her in the beginning but she is growing on me. I mean I understand put up a front because you don’t want to let people down. But the constant lying and hiding was too much. I love Cole and Aly together they just clicked. I really liked her brothers. There was always something happening and it kept my interest from beginning to end. I was sad to read the last words but I know there is a book two because you left us with a cliffhanger. I'm not mad though because it gives me more time learning about Cole and Aly.
This book was a whirlpool of awesome craziness. I am glad you decided to write this and I know I will enjoy book two. Just thinking about how this story left off has me going crazy with all the possibilities.

Illusions is the first book in The Club Series by J.C. Thompson and it is also the first book that I have read by this author, and I have to say that I am hooked!
In this book Cole is looking to blow off some steam from a rough time at work (and dealing with his ex-wife) and decides to try out the V.I.P section at a well-known night club. When he gets there he spends a passion filled night with Aly and he can’t stop thinking about her after that. The next morning he is set to have breakfast with his business partner, Nate, and Nate’s family. He gets the surprise of his life when he realizes that the princess in the family is none other than Nate’s baby sister named Aly… With her whole family thinking that she is the office manager for a random business, they start sneaking around behind everyone’s back. When the truth comes to light and his past comes back to haunt them all, they quickly realize that they are not the only ones with secrets. How will anyone be able to survive this train wreck, let alone Cole who refuses any kind of commitment and Aly who wants the fairy tale?

I need the second book immediately because I have to know how this all ends; Beware it does have a huge cliffhanger so get ready! You should definitely buy this book now if you like intense love story with heartbreaking twists and turns.

Illusions is book 1 in J.C Thompson's Club Series. We have the pleasure of meeting Cole and Aly. Just a quick disclaimer this book does end in a cliffhanger. From the first chapter we enter the hidden world of the VIP rooms in club illusions. This is how Aly and Cole have their first meeting. And boy what a first meeting it was. Aly grew up with just her dad and brothers. She was the princess therefore was sheltered. She moved away from her family so she could rebel a little. Cole is a resent transplant to the area. Unbeknownst to Aly, Cole is her brothers best friend and new business partner. He brings his own baggage to the story. With a money hungry ex-wife we do t know what's going to happen. With Aly and Cole trying to keeping their emotions and hearts out of the equation a lot of misunderstandings happen along the way. Trying to remain in the friends with benefits column proves to be hard for the couple. Another added element in their relationship is the secrecy that they must keep because of her brothers. What will happen once her brothers find out? And what will they think once they find out what really happens behind closed doors at illusions?
This book will have you going through a roller coaster of emotions. I was not able to put this book down until I finished. I found myself gasping more times than I can count. Can not wait until book 2 comes along. This is definitely a 5 star rating in my book.
