When Prince Tristano asks Harper Thackery to remodel the interior of his family home, she isn’t sure it’s her design skills he really requires. His primary intent appears to be using their relationship to deflect other women and his matchmaking mother. He knows Harper intends to marry another man, which makes her safe—completely off limits by her own decree.
But why does Tristano have to dance so . . . well, like a prince? And why does his gaze turn her insides to liquid fire?
Harper finds herself torn between two dreams, the happily-ever-after she always imagined and a fairytale that might not be real. All because of a magical night and a chance meeting with a prince. If only she has the courage to accept one last dance that might change everything.
Teyla Rachel Branton grew up avidly reading science fiction and fantasy and watching Star Trek reruns with her large family. They lived on a little farm where she loved to visit the solitary cow and collect (and juggle) the eggs, usually making it back to the house with most of them intact. On that same farm she once owned thirty-three gerbils and eighteen cats, not a good mix, as it turns out. Teyla always had her nose in a book and daydreamed about someday creating her own worlds. She is now married, mostly grown up, and has seven kids, so life at her house can be very interesting (and loud), but writing keeps her sane. She thrives on the energy and daily amusement offered by her children, the semi-ordered chaos giving her a constant source of writing material. Grabbing any snatch of free time from her hectic life, Teyla writes novels full of mystery, romance, and imagination. She warns her children that if they don’t behave, they just might find themselves in her next book! She’s been known to wear pajamas all day when working on a deadline, and is often distracted enough to burn dinner. (Okay, pretty much 90% of the time.) A sign on her office door reads: DANGER. WRITER AT WORK. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. She loves writing fiction and traveling, and she hopes to write and travel a lot more. She also loves shooting guns, martial arts, and belly dancing. She has worked in the publishing business for over twenty years.
This is masterful writing in the art of falling in love without making the reader feel like a weird voyeur. It a story about a choice between two men and realizing what she wants, with ballroom dancing in between.
It is a clean, respectful book, without it being boring.
This was a very clean, romantic, sweet love story. She was already I gaged to someone else, but when they danced together, nothing else seemed to matter. Loved these characters.
Good, clean book filled with romance and a prince, too! My thanks to an author who writes breath-taking romance with nothing more than a kiss--no graphic scenes needed.
This is a beautiful romantic story of love and friendship that help heals and understand when it's time to hold on to the past and when time to let go and love again.
This is an elegant edition to The Royals of Monterra novellas. In this story, Harper Thackery meets Prince Tristano Fiorelli through her college roommate. After Tristano asks her to protect him from the eligible females in attendance, sparks fly on the ballroom floor. They have so much in common and find a friend to share their secrets, their dreams, and their fears. This fairytale romance is filled with magical moments, wonderful phrasing and imagery, and enough sparks to light the castle in Boschetto. Tristano finds a woman he can trust with his heart who likes him not just his title and money. Harper is torn between her loyalty to her cheating fiancé and her attraction to Tristano. She seeks a love that allows her to follow her dreams. I love that Harper is not a perfect size zero woman. She has curves, flaws and an insatiable love of pastries. I enjoyed the back and forth banter between the two as we learn their thoughts and different points of view. This may be a novella but I enjoyed every moment and flirtation, a wonderful, clean romance.
