It’s been a while since Nina Statleon—ex-coffin lover, current chicken wing lover—lost her vampire mojo during a particularly brutal OOPS case. Her friends Wanda and Marty are worried. Nina clearly hasn’t dealt with the emotional fallout caused by losing one’s immortality. She’s got issues. Big issues.
And it’s time to call in the Big Gun—Paranormal Psychologist January Malone. Her friends will get Nina to the therapist’s office, even if they have to lure her with last bag of Cheetos in Manhattan.
Of course, the girls couldn’t possibly know that Doctor Malone has an agenda. A forced agenda involving blackmail, which may just save one life…while ending another. It goes against everything January, a white witch, has ever believed in, personally and professionally.
But the alternative means putting her trust in a foul-mouthed ex-vampire, her werewolf and halfsie friends, a demon, a zombie, a bear and their assorted mates…
Yikes!
***Author Note: This is an Accidental Quickie and shorter in length than prior novels in the series.***

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 Another great installment in Ms. Cassidy’s Accidental series. As always Nina tries so hard to act tough (but deep down she is a marshmallow). It was great to get to revisit with all of the OOPS members. But this was Nina’s redemption story or her accidentally getting forced to face her demons (aka reality). I loved the new characters we met too. I did feel really bad that January had to deal with a crabby Nina during their appointments. But January is great!! She understands Nina in a way that even Nina doesn’t understand. See Nina doesn’t like to face reality or her new mortality. The reality that she is not the same person she was before, that she is not as helpful as before and that as a human she will someday die and leave everyone behind. Ms. Cassidy did a great job of bring back the very loveable vampire Nina. I won’t tell you how it happens. But I did die laughing when I learned how indeed Nina got her fangs back. Can’t wait for the next installment in this series.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Dakota Cassidy in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
Love this series!! so I stumbled upon this in the audible romance package, and I wasn’t all that sure about it. I’m Not a girlie girl and Marty sure is. I feel I’m more like Nina. I can be a Tom boy and hard but a softy for kids. but I’m so glad I did!!! I love Nina the most she is a foul mouth, bad ass chic and she has been through hell and back in this series.
If you've followed the Accidentals from the beginning, I'm fairly certain you'll love this one.
And I'd also bet the ironic twist at the end will have your jaw dropping before uncontrollable laughter takes over and leaves you clapping over the sheer perfection of the outcome. Ms. Cassidy knows how to get Nina riled up over and over again.
With an unwavering strong plot line, clear and concise flow, heartfelt emotional twists and spot-on character conflicts, HNGHFB is a great continuation for this "family". The introduction of new characters: January, Galen and Calista have added so much more to their OOPS world and all of them are more than they appear to be.
If you haven't started the series and if you're looking for the perfect escape from everyday life, dive right in with book 1. But be warned: You will become addicted to this series of adventures. Nina, Marty and Wanda will make you feel as though you've adopted some loving, crazy, paranormal family members that you hope will never leave.
Dakota Cassidy knows how to grab you from page one and when it's over, you've been through a myriad of emotions. I recommend reading HNGHFB along with other 12...many, many times. NOT because you have to in order to understand them. Oh no. It's because these stories are so enjoyable that you won't want to leave the Accidental world. (The same way you'd watch your favorite movie time and again.)
Once again this series is still as funny as the beginning when I started it. I loved that this book was bout Nina as she is my favorite out of the bunch of ladies. I always love how frank and too the point she is and she is so strong willed. We got into this one with Nina having to go to therapy and meeting January. January was a nice addition to the group and I love how she didn't take any of Nina's mess and forced her to work through her issues. I hated that January was caught up the situation she was but loved that she got help from the girls.
Overall this was another fun listen and I have decided that with the great narrator for this one and all the others in this series I will always have to listen to these. The narrator has the perfect voice and she makes Nina sound just like I would expect her to. She pulls off her snark so well and I find myself chuckling and laughing throughout. I can't wait to listen to the next book to see what the girls get into next.
Thanks to Tantor Media for this audiobook for review.
Dakota has done it once again. Nina the quick tempered foul mouthed, slayer of all evil is back with her BFF's Wanda and Marty. But the threesome is devastated since Nina has lost her fangs and became human again. Chicken wings and Cheetos in hand Nina must confront her feelings. Gasp!! Nina actually has feelings just don't tell anyone... While dealing with her very own head shrink she confronts her issues and discovers a plot to take her down.. Nina won't go down easy even if she is human again.
Nina has always been my favorite character in this series and this book brought lots of laughter and even a few happy tears. If you enjoy this series you will not be disappointed.
This was a fun read. Nina is a vampire that lost her ability to be a vampire. Anyways the story is the continuation of the Accidentals series. You get a surprise at the ending with Nina. Nina tries to be a tough gal but really she is nothing but a softy. It was fast paced and a quick read. you will laugh. Who knew getting bitten by a half vampire half witch gives you both abilities. Nina did not like the color stream she was given after her new abilities but that is what happens with Nina.
I just can’t help it. Nina is my favorite character throughout this series. Marty is somewhat okay and Wanda is like their mother. Nina, though, you can always can’t on. Yes, she’s gruff and tough, but once you get through her tough outer shell, she’s going to defend you to the death. She definitely needed her immortality back.
If it says Dakota Cassidy on it, then you should just read it. All of Dakota's characters are so loveable and they just step right out of the page and come alive. I want a tour of Dakota's brain 😛
Omg! I love the OOPS ladies!!! And of course Nina is my favorite. Happy for any Nina focused story. It was a little slow for me at first but once January gets the OOPS team up to speed on the issue, the team is all in.
Honestly, I was getting bored with this series and only reading because I'm a completionist. But HOW NINA GOT HER FANG BACK was fun, enjoyable and a much needed refresher for the series. I hope it continues!
This is the first book in the 'Accidental' series that didn't have me laughing out loud. I had figured out how she would get her fangs back about midway. Not saying it wasn't an enjoyable read, but not Ms Cassidy's best.
Ms Cassidy continues hee storyline adding colorful characters along the way. This book will make you laugh, cry and tick you off. It's an array of emotions. Off to read the next addition to this wonderful saga.
This is another example of this authors talent, to provide a well written fully developed fun read! These characters are ones you can't help but fall in love with.
So happy that Nina is finally back to back to being a vampire but I didn’t see it coming as to how it all happened. Nina is my favorite character in this series!
One of my favorite series! The characters are amazing, so well written, and freaking hilarious! Dakota is a great author! I highly recommend checking this series out!
Loved! This is one of my all time favorite series and Nina has been my favorite accidental from the beginning! Every book once I have the time to sit down and read I can’t put the book down!
A really great quickie. I truly enjoyed this book and I like that it moved fast and it had more of the guys this time around. Was really a good book. I think I would reread this one.
I like this series a lot, and this was one of the better ones. However, I really do not like the new reader. Hollie Jackson's male voices all sound exactly the same, and their inflections are bizarre and really annoying. Bring back Meredith Mitchell!!
This novel was fun to read and the storyline was unexpected. The craftsmanship is superb, the cast of characters fascinating, the contemporary setting described in detail, and the plot clever. This book has everything - romance, mystery, paranormal, and humor. I highly recommend this series.
How Nina Got Her Fang Back contains all the wild and crazy we expect from an Accidental’s book and we get to know our favorite crazy just a bit better. Nina at a shrinks office! Just picture it. Nina is stress eating her way to an early grave. One she can fill now that she isn’t a vampire anymore. Marty, Wanda and Greg convince Nina (okay Wanda picked her up and physically puts her in the chair) to see a shrink so she can deal with her new mortality. I recommend having read the previous books before this but it certainly can be read standalone. If you like laugh out loud PNR you will adore this series.
Dakota has done it again! And Nina's BACK!! It is so easy to get invested in the lives of the OOPS girls, Nina, Marty and Wanda, and when Nina found herself rehumanized in book #11, it broke my heart. Knowing that Greg, or anyone else, was prohibited from returning her to her vampire state meant that she wouldn't be around for her daughter, husband, friends and family. DANG, Dakota!!
So this book made my heart sing, and the way she is reintroduced to the wonders of vampirism is totally inspired and I so, so didn't see it coming.
Please keep writing, Dakota, and keep the girls busy helping newby paranormals.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. How Nina Got Her Gang Back is an awesome read.Wanda and Marty are worried about Nina and how she is dealing with being human again so they drag her to see a paranormal psychologist but it turns out that January needs the oops hangs help badly. With a vampire supremacist trying to get rid of Nina and bring a dastardly plan to fruition the girls have the hands full .Full of humor and suspense I kept turning page after page till the end.Of you are looking for a great read snag this book and all of Dakota Cassidy's other books you will love them.
