Procurement is a paranormal romance. It is a classic story of the timeless battle between heaven and hell with earth at the core of the conflict.
In the second book of The Fulfillment series, Procurement continues the journey of Luke and Mary who are now on the run and in hiding. With the help of Lilith and the secret society The Guardians, they are lead on a journey to the archangel Michael. There they will learn the plan to defeat Lucifer's soldiers and stop the ultimate evil from claiming earth.
Born Vicki Ann Guidice, her journey into the realm of the spiritual and supernatural was initiated at birth. Her early years were spent in Queens, New York known for having more people passed on than alive, as well as having several Gothic cemeteries within walking distance of its communities. At the age of 15, she moved to Los Angeles California taking her fertile imagination with her. After meeting her future husband, Ronald Bush, her new homeland became Las Vegas, Nevada.
As a mother of two, her first published book in 2008, Winslow Willow the Woodland Fairy, took her love of fantasy and spun it into a heartwarming children’s book. The progression to the young adult literary market took root in her novels that captured the haunting qualities of the Las Vegas desert surrounding her, but it was New York that called her home. Alex McKenna, the main character in the book series first published in 2019, is the embodiment of her Italian-American roots, memories of adolescent outsider status, and the strength it takes to live an authentic life.
Ms. Bush is a co-founder of Coffee House Tours, an events-based collaboration between local bookstores and coffee shops allowing authors to represent themselves and their works. Additionally, she is a frequent podcast literary guest and has a special relationship with The Center LGBTQIA+ Las Vegas where Alex McKenna has been an inspirational focus as a transgender Paranormal teen. Now starring in the short film Alex and Margret’s Beginning, inspired by the book series, Ms. Bush is now an award winning short screenplay writer and Producer. Bringing her moving and unique storyline and character to a broader audience.
This story could have so much potential but it really needs worked on. It takes place over about a 24 hr period and it's completely rushed. There's no character development and I kept having to go back to find out who someone was. Honestly I still didn't get everyone straight. Hours seem to fly by but with what is going on at that moment it should only be half the time it is. And the instalove. Apparently what I've considered instalove in the past isn't. Most books it's a couple of days but in this one after a couple of hrs they're declaring their love to anyone that will listen. As least Luke's dad had enough sense to argue they just met and can't be in love. Like I said if the book was went back through it could really be something with the storyline.
I was given an ecopy from the author in exchange for a honest review. Thank you.
Fulfillment is an imaginative, fast-paced read about a group of seemingly normal teens who discover they’re in a fight for the life of the world. Vicki-Ann Bush’s prose is vivid and alive as she weaves a modern myth from the ancient truths found in the Bible. High school students Luke, Mary, and Jason must prevail over the forces of darkness to fulfill God’s plan and defeat the fallen angels. An exciting first installment in this series.
Still on the run from Mary’s evil father, Araqiel (Lucifer’s hitman), Luke and Mary find themselves in a very dangerous game of cat and mouse. Luke’s astral-travelling almost costs him his life as Lilith (Mary’s mother) tries to find a permanent safe place where her daughter can relocate to. Deadly hazards seem to be never-ending, while demons of all shapes and sizes attack Lilith and the archangels escorting her to safety. When Araqiel himself unexpectedly appears, however, he vanishes with the prize he came for – the daughter who will either accept the gift of ultimate darkness or pure light as her all-encompassing inheritance of power. Can Lilith and Luke save Mary before it’s too late?
I have been excitedly waiting for what seems an eternity to read the third book in the Fulfillment Series, largely due to the high quality in writing offered by Vicki-Ann Bush. The initial book introduces each of the second generation angels, all of whom are transitioning from high school students to saviors. The second book shows the lengths that Mary’s evil father will go to in order to claim her as his on behalf of Lucifer. Cessation has seriously taken me to a whole new level in excitement in paranormal tales, leaving me on the very edge of my seat with each turn of the page. Seeing Araqiel’s sheer hatred in and determination to win at all costs, regardless of the price that others must pay, is what kept me reading through to the end. I am definitely not a fan of the bad guys (well, usually) and Mary’s capture, rescue, re-capture and more had me seething, hoping for a brutal vanquish like no other. I was so very impressed by the third instalment in the series and cannot recommend it enough to readers aged over 15 years who are hard-core fans of paranormal romance, suspense and the age-old struggle of good versus evil.
When I read the summary for The Darkest Light I thought I knew what to expect but boy was I ever wrong as it was nothing like what I expected in the least but it was good. The Darkest Light drew me in from the first page and held on until the last. I am still reeling from what I found inside. What a great story.
The Darkest Light tells the story of a boy/girl meeting and things start to heat up in more ways than one as their lives are turned upside down on a night at the movies.
Mary has known for a while now that she was different from most. She tried to get her Dad to take her to the doctor but he would not. A doctor cannot fix what is wrong with Mary. Mary finds out some very disturbing things about herself on the night they go to the movies. Her life is never going to be the same again.
Mary has to fight with herself to do what is right. Mary could very easily turn evil but she is fighting to keep control of her dark side. Mary’s dark and light side is battling within her. She must learn to control it if she wants to stay friends with Luke.
Can Mary learn to control her dark side? Or will it keep her and Luke apart, forever?

Through some divine chance, I started reading this after watching Hazbin Hotel (meaning I was already prepped for this kind of mythology treatment), and it's a good follow-up story.
Things to like: - YA insta-romance - YA "Chosen One" MC - New interpretation of mythologies (Christian) - Objective: Save the world
If those are barriers for you, this might not be the right story for you.
Otherwise, the pacing is fast, and the chapters are girthy; dive in and enjoy the ride.
Thanks to the publisher for an ARC. I loved this book. On the surface it looks like a cut and dried good vs evil thrill ride, with apparently ordinary teens (Luke and Mary, as well as others) discovering they are part of a heavenly army who must be trained to take down Lucifer and his acolytes when they try to incite the apocalypse. However, there are actually a lot of shades of grey here, leading me to think that everyone has the potential for both good and evil within them. In particular, Mary is torn between the two worlds because of the nature of her upbringing, and must fight to stay on the side of good. Of course, they are dealing with the daunting challenge of taking down the powers of hell on top of the turmoil of emotions and hormones that come with being a teenager, and Bush captures this part well, with a sweet romance threaded through the narrative. My only gripe is that a few of the supporting characters could have had more attention devoted to them, but maybe these will be explored further in a sequel. Overall, The Darkest Light is a gripping read that keeps up a relentless pace throughout.
This book has so much potential, but it seems that it is not quite finished. It starts out great, it really nice that the author explains the characters and their relation towards each other. It is also good that you don't initially expect that the book would change from a normal high school story to a demonic angel fight. I like that, but I suspect that other people may not. All in all I think this could be a great book, but telling the story in 66 pages makes it seem kind off rushed. Everything could be explored more, how did the families live all these years? What is their relation to each other? How can Luke and Mary love each other so much within only one minute? What is the relation of Michael towards the others? And why now?? You see, I have many questions left that could have been answered if the book was a little longer and explained more of the situation. However, I did like it. The writing style is very good and the characters are relatable.
i was sent a free copy in exchange for an honest review by the author. All I can say is... wow! This is not what I was expecting, I didn't know how crazy addictive this would be. I'm usually very against insta-love (and that was a theme that made the book a bit unrealistic) but the romance was still handled pretty well, which most Paranormal Romance authors don't know how to do ( Twilight, Hush Hush, to name a couple of PR's that didn't work so well). I don't know a lot about mythology but the backstory sounded pretty good to me. The story was a little too fast paced for me, as it is set in one night, but at the same time it kind of worked for the story. The writing was incredible, and i recommend this to anyone who wants a good, interesting romance.
Given that the book is set in one night, everything felt rushed. The characters, the plot about the angels and archangels. I think the the characters could have been given more time to develop especially the main characters. Also, not a fan of the insta-love. It felt very Romeo and Juliet given the plot, of course their families are enemies but they love each other. I think that the story has potential. The background of the angels from God brings a religious aspect that is handled well. I would recommend this to people who wants something fast paced.
“Procurement” is the continuing story of Luke Jacob, a young man who has discovered that he is an angel. The story opens with him, his love interest, Mary, and her mother, Lilith running from Araqiel, a fallen angel, and his demons, Astaroth and Abaddon. Luke is still discovering his powers in this one, and a group of angels gathers to take the fight directly to Lucifer himself.
I don’t want to give too much away, as the novella moves really quickly, but it’s a thrill ride from author Vicki-Ann Bush that really expands the characters and the plot from “Fulfillment”.
This YA paranormal brings the choirs of angels down to the suburbs of Las Vegas. Rich in evil demons and heroic angels, it has down-to-earth dialogue and emotions that appeal to young readers. There is only one “shade of gray” in this stark telling of the conflict between good and evil, and that is in the character, Mary, the literal result of good and evil combining. If you want to find out which side wins out, read the book! You won’t be disappointed.
With this being a different genre that I normally read, it was an enjoyable one. What lies behind this cover is so much more than what you would expect. But ... how will you know if you don't pick yourself up a copy? Yep, you may not want to miss out on this book right here!
I've never read a book quite like this. The descriptions in this book are astounding. I felt like I was right there along with the characters, experiencing the action. If you are interested in the fantastical and angels/fallen angels this book is for you. Very intriguing subject and looking forward to the author's next book.
Vicki-Ann Bush blends action and teenage drama while drawing a fine line between the paranormal and religious mythos.
Definitely connected with both Luke and Mary and spent several pages wondering if they'd be able to resist the forces that threatened to tear their world into shreds.
By far, one of the best YA Paranormal Romance books I have ever read. I pray a second book is written, as I am left wanting more. Definitely recommended.
