Rate this book

Objectively this book hardly deserves even two stars, for it repeats many myths and unreliable stories about Marguerite de Valois and her family, her husband and relatives.
But I had some reasons for rounding up my rating. At least the author doesn’t try to make Marguerite look good at the expense of the others. Also, he doesn’t make her anti-heroine, blaming her for everything in which she failed.
In short, he just reiterates the old tales and unverified and more than dubious rumors about the leading figures of that period in history.
I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone, but there’re worse and more biased books than this one.
