Greg Rucka, is an American comic book writer and novelist, known for his work on such comics as Action Comics, Batwoman: Detective Comics, and the miniseries Superman: World of New Krypton for DC Comics, and for novels such as his Queen & Country series.
I am really intrigued about this take on Barbara Ann Minerva. I liked the whole aspect of it and her curse, I think it's going to go down to Diana betraying her somehow and I'm loving it.
Great art and a sympathic tone, this Wonder Woman series has grown on me. I'm interested in the two coin storytelling model they have adapted with Diana. The character never really interested me but I'm into this in a big way. Cheetah is a flawed soul and Diana grows as a character here in such a big way.
The Wonder Woman storyline in rebirth has still had me on the edge , while there's obvious potential to where this story is headed and how impactful it might become the fact that until this point nothing major has happened and the story still keeps going around in circle as Diana tries to find her way back home . This issue similar to previous ones still hasn't revealed anything about the main plot going on here instead we had the Diana interaction with Cheetah which was riddled with awkward exchanges between the two that sometime left me more than a bit confused .
The only saving graces for the series so far has been the art Liam Sharp & Paulo Siquera (hopefully i spelled it correctly) keep the art at it's peak and just like when the series started the art just is breathtaking and almost feel to be jumping to life . Here's hoping future issues sees Greg Rucka bring his A game to the table matching the brilliance of Liam Sharp and Paulo's art
Greg Rucka -gets- Wonder Woman, and he continues to show it. Every single moment of hers is just beautifully written, and I love her equal strength and kindness. Meanwhile, Sharp continues to deliver completely stunning art--perhaps the biggest standout of the whole Rebirth line so far, in the way that Capullo was for N52.
My only complaint is that this storyline only comes out once a month, and considering the Year One story is equally as amazing, a part of me wishes both could be twice-monthly, though I understand the art would probably suffer, so I'm glad that's not the case.
The story is moving along and I'm liking it. I liked that it had a lot of Cheetah in it because I didn't know much about her. I'm excited to see where this goes. I also like that Steve Trevor is in this too and his part of the story is pretty interesting. Can't wait until their paths cross. Mostly I want to see what their going do with Wonder Woman's timeline and backstory. Like I have so many questions. So many.
Wonder Woman can no longer access Olympus and has forgotten the way to Themyscira. She travels to Bwunda seeking the help of Cheetah, but Cheetah has her own problems. Meanwhile, Steve Trevor and his squad are also in Bwunda tracking down a warlord who's taking women from around the country. His mission may cross paths with Wonder Woman and Cheetah, if he can survive that long.
The jungles of Bwunda are very dark and moody as drawn by Liam Sharp. This place is downright scary! But as terrifying as the landscape is, Sharp's art also brings through the soft side of friendship and affection between Wonder Woman and Cheetah, as well as the comradery that is felt between the soldiers in Trevor's unit. Sharp has such a knack for facial expression and mood and he gets to bring all of it to bear in this issue. From subtle eyelines to broad action sequences to panoramic vistas, Sharp does it all in this issue. The art is just amazing.
Rucka's dialogue and pacing are truly brought to life by Sharp's artwork. This is a great team that works well together and the story shines because of it. This is a great union where everything comes together in a story that's full of intrigue, action, and emotion. It's not always easy to pull that off in about 20 pages, but this is a great example of precision in storytelling. Rucka and Sharp combine to make this issue fantastic.
There's a lot of core Wonder Woman in this issue. She uses love to combat hate and fear. She expounds friendship over conflict and uses her empathy to begin to win over the caustic Cheetah. I feel that not every writer gets the core of what makes Wonder Woman special, but Rucka illustrates these things so well this issue.
This might be one of my favorite issues of Wonder Woman ever. That's saying a lot because I really loved the Legend of Wonder Woman series by Renae De Liz! This one is worth reading for every comic fan out there.
Cheetah AKA Barbara . I love this it demostrated the friend and enemy connection of this characters and , in my point of view the story is well written and the illustrations are amazing just that in some part of the dialogues lack of information or detaills.

2.5 stars. I've given this 3 issues and I just...don't care. The artwork is great but the story has not grabbed my attention at all unfortunately. Read this free with Comixology Unlimited.
Wow, this was really homoerotic and felt like really old school WW. Still profoundly uninterested in the Steve Trevor subplot, but doubt it's going away anytime soon. Will admit that he seems like an upstanding guy though so at least there's that. Really intrigued to see what Rucka does with Cheetah.
Great chapter 2 to Lies. Here Rucka begins to explore the dynamic between Diana and Cheetah. While much is stated in broad strokes, it his strategically. Well written.
