The author gives a graphic account of her journey of coming to terms with her diagnosis of bipolar syndrome. She has fought to become sober, but it is not enough; her life is still full of roller-coaster emotions, recurring nightmares and thoughts of suicide. The style of the narrative reflects the complicated networks in her mind, taking the reader down rabbit holes of memory all the way through. For me, the book was an honest and compelling account of her struggle to find equilibrium, but it could have done with some tidying up by a good editor as there were some glaring spelling and grammar mistakes.
