Seth just wanted to go home. But that was before he saw her standing on the bridge. She was ready to jump. Nev had loved her like a daughter. But he had unknowingly put her in harm's way. It was all his fault. Cleo had been jealous. But she wasn't to know.
This is not a love story. This is a tale of the heart broken, a tale of the manipulated and a tale of endurance.
Blake Verone, who calls herself a writer, hails from the East Midlands in England, but has more recently adapted to the Australian way of life. She makes terrible jokes and great quiche. Her short story Daisy was an Amazon Bestseller.
This is a very well written piece which tackles some modern, serious and important themes in a way which is graceful and uniquely un-overencumbersome. un-overencumbersome? like as in it doesn't drag you down. see this is why I am not an author! the chapters are very short and concise, allowing for the story to be easily picked up even for a quick read. for someone who struggles to get into stories, getting through a few chapters a day was no problem. possibly even describable as... a breeze? alas I am no poet. I am a young adult however, and a queer one at that, and I approve this book and its message! the characters in this novel are entertaining and have a down to earth narration which I personally greatly appreciate, especially when balanced with such serious themes. definitely worth the 4 dollars-. potentially even worth many more!!!
