Be so good they can't ignore you. How to succeed at business and life by one of Australia's leading entrepreneurs and founder of The Remarkables Group.
Success isn't made up of huge leaps forward, but instead small repetitive actions completed each day. These small steps eventually lead to great achievements in the pursuit of your goals.
This book is an inspiring look at the lessons Lorraine has learned during her entrepreneurship journey - through study, trial and error; the strategies she has developed and the habits she religiously follows.
Be remarkable in work and life, following the advice of one of Australia's most exciting thought leaders.
I have had this book on my shelf for ages. A year probably. I think I was attracted by the green sofa on the cover!
This is a good "starter" book for female entrepreneurs. Nothing particularly ground breaking nor anything that could not be gleaned from other sources. Murphy herself cites so many other classic and modern self help/business growth books, so the content is very derivative. However it is written in a conversational style. For someone who is looking for inspiration from a local success story, this is a relatable and engaging starting point.
BTW. Although Ms Murphy is Irish by birth, the success of this business has occurred in Australia hence my description as a local book.
I liked this book and it was inspiring hearing about Lorraine's success with this business (which she has since exited). There was a lot of detail about how this specific business was run which I think will appeal to readers who have a similar style of business and who like learning about other people's systems and processes. Lorraine shares a lot of her favourite self-help + business books and what she's learnt and implemented from them, many of which will be familiar to other entrepreneurs.
I really loved this book. I found Lorraine to be a refreshing, down to earth writer and I still reference this book in my life weekly. Her learnings aren't only relevant for small business owners, they can be applied to general life and your goals for success as well
I started reading this book years ago, but only really felt ready to absorb it in its entirety now. It was the perfect timing as my business is starting to pick up speed and a good read about entrepreneurship written in a down to earth, relatable manner was what I needed. A great read.
