The Tidal Road Mystery

Rate this book
Newcomer Godfrey Sanderson arrives in the small riverside village of Watersford in rural Devon and is soon catapulted into the trauma of a murder investigation, in which he is the chief suspect. He turns to the only person who can help him, a former Fleet Street crime reporter, Erwin Graham, who has sought refuge in the local community after suffering a breakdown, where he has now become an indigent artist, assisted by his partner Belle, a gipsy. This is a classic whodunit with an array of suspects and a mystery which seems almost unsolvable, but Erwin Graham takes on the case and comes to the rescue of his newfound friend.

Read this as it was a surname that I had encountered in the past so was interested to find out more..............Slightly cliched and the style was quite basic but it held my attention. Most annoying aspect was that whilst all the other Devon towns retained their accurate names, Salcombe became Saltcombe. Was this deliberate, ignorance or a typsetting error?
