Spacetress - The Infinite Menu

Rate this book
Miki doesn’t mind just being a waitress. Massage therapy was a nice dream, but she’s terrible at it. She’s working for one of the most successful chains in the galaxy and her boss says he’s going to move her into a management position. It helps that he’s her secret boyfriend.

Everything changes when people start acting strangely after eating the special. There’s something sinister on the menu and after being in the wrong place at the wrong time Miki, her drug dealer and cook Tomas, and the paranoid fellow waiter Skitch are off across space for the adventure of a lifetime.

Discovering new cultures, dealing with zombies, and finding out how weird the universe is will have her wishing she was back to being just a waitress in no time. Not to mention she’s made some pretty powerful enemies.

Received book for free honest review.

This is my first book from this author and I was not disappointed. It was creative and had quite a bit of humor in it. The book felt like it was geared towards folks born in the 80s and early 90s time frame as many of the references used are related to movies during those days. I felt that part way through the book their were to many coincidences occurring, but while I continued to read many items were explained and the connections clicked for me. I gave the book 4 stars as some of the characters were a little to accepting of events going on that a regular individual would still ask some basic questions about. Other than that the world building was awesome, and it was an enjoyable read.

A so-so book. Hard to follow characters. No real sense of identification with the characters or their actions.
