When young waterbender Katara and her warrior brother, Sokka, rescue a mysterious boy named Aang, who is the last airbender and the long-lost Avatar, Katara and Sokka must make sure that Aang fulfills his destiny and saves the world. Original.
This issue covers The Spirit World: Winter Solstice Part 2. Like Part 2, the colors are rich and seem to jump off the pages of this issue and the writing really juvenile. I swear I don't recall it being this dumbed down in Issues 1-3, it feels like they've downgraded the reading level to 3rd grade or lower. In the middle of the issue are several pages of action scenes with no dialogue save sound effect blurbs like "Poof!" "Splash" "Fwooosh!!" "Phwoof!" "Sizzle!" "Shoom!!" and "Boom!!"
For some reason I expected better writing, as the beginning of this series, and other series like Legend of Korra, are much, much better. [image error]
My library only owned this one copy of the whole series. I really liked to re-visit the world of the Last Airbender. I remembered it from when I binge watched this series last summer! I really liked the part when it is explained how the fire nation could get the power to overthrow the other elements and the fact that the comet is coming back. And Avatar Roku helping Aang to defeat commandant Zhao.
