The Hooker: A Reprehensible Acts Story
In this novelette, Mark was content to see out his single days with a bachelor party, but his best man, Lance, wasn't. He insists in sending Mark off in style...in the company of a hooker. It's supposed to be the last hoorah of a single man before being condemned to a life of marriage, but that all changes when the hooker scams them. Mark's world unravels and a dark side he never knew he possessed spills out.

Packs a punch!
Holy cow! Simon held nothing back in this quick but intense read. Raw, gritty and sometimes uncomfortable. I read this in one sitting and was blown away! This will not be for everyone. But if you like dark and unconventional read this!

Simon Wood rarely disappoints me! I'm a huge fan of his and the only thing that disappointed me was that there wasn't more- but alas it was a short so more couldn't be had!
It's the night of a bachelor party and the best man wants to make sure that the groom-to-be has one last pre-wedding hurrah before tying the knot. What transpires after the bachelor party is not just a testament to whatever can go wrong will, but also a slightly disturbing look at the a regular life gone so far astray it can't come recover.
This story was a gripping page turner and I was through it before I knew it.
My only warning to you is that there is no HEA so if you expect one or need one In your stories this might not be for you.
Be prepared this might just leave you wondering if circumstances were different could you find yourself in his shoes?

His last chance to indulge in elicit sex. But tables are turned as the hooker scams them. Mark's world unravels and he becomes acquainted with his dark side...which he never realized he had. Author Simon Wood knows how to write a story to capture readers, and this one is shocking! No one knows what a person will do when things get out of control. As I've heard the phrase quoted to me frequently, "It only gets worse." Read this short story. It's very intriguing even though it contains some rough language and violence. This story will definitely push your button!

I am a huge fan of Simon's work and he never disappoints me. I wish this one was longer! His work leans on the Dark and Unconventional side and this one delivers. I read this in one sitting.

This is the first in a series of Reprehensible Acts stories that Simon is producing.
I love Simon's books but I am not a lover of short stories/ novelette as there isnt enough depth to the characters or the stories. However, this made a nice quick read for the long flight home. It is very readable and puts a different perspective on the usual.
Simon has put an afterword at the end of this book explaining that he realises these books are not for everyone and I think I am in that category. I cant really criticise the book as there is nothing wrong with it it just isnt my kind of read.
