Seventeen-year-old Sophie seems to have it all. Smart and beautiful, she is finally dating the boy of her dreams. She has been in love with Daniel for as long as she can remember, and her life is falling into place after years of torment at the hands of the local mean-girls. But just when her life is finally going right for once, a family secret threatens to bring everything crashing down around her. Sophie is caught between two worlds, the mortal world which she has spent her whole life trying to fit into, and the magical realm where she truly belongs.
When a mysterious stranger turns up one day with a warning for her family, Sophie's two worlds threaten to collide in spectacular fashion. She loves Daniel, but she finds herself increasingly drawn to the mysterious Finn. She can't stop thinking about him, but she is not sure if she wants to spend every second with him or if she wants to run as fast as possible in the opposite direction. Against her better judgement, Finn works his way deeper and deeper into her consciousness and Sophie finds herself unable to stay away. But Sophie's relationship with Finn comes at a price; his relatives want to destroy Sophie's family, and by being with Finn she has placed her family directly in the path of destruction.
A tragic event threatens to reveal Sophie's secret to the world and she is forced to choose between her safe, comfortable relationship with Daniel, and a dark and dangerous relationship with Finn.

Though a short read, it has realistic characters, a story line that keeps the reader highly entertained and involved within its pages. I want to read the next story in this series. I recommend to readers who like YA with a little mystery.
