My fascination with animals began when I was aged 8 and a stray cat walked in the back door and decided to adopt me. As a child, I wanted to be a writer and used to dictate stories to my mother, but eventually I bought a laptop and decided I could type them myself. I live in Dorset and share the space around my desk with two dogs, Harry and Coco. MA in Creative and Critical Writing from University of Winchester.
Tiger is back at Willowgate House, which means she can spend time with her grandma and her friend Tom again. May Days always has the most amazing plans to entertain her granddaughter and when she doesn't spend time with her grandmother Tiger is trying to unravel a mystery together with Tom. Things keep disappearing and they need their detective skills to find out what's behind all the mysteries at Willowgate House.
Tiger Days and the Midnight Foxes is another heartwarming Tiger Days story. Tiger and Tom are getting along well. They both love using their detective skills and there's a big mystery for them to unravel. It's a fun idea for a story and reading about their investigation put a big smile on my face. Tiger is a wonderful friend for Tom and she loves her grandmother very much, which makes the story fun and endearing.
Tiger is a brave girl and I admire her inventiveness. Sarah Lean writes about her in a great loving way, which makes the story extra special. Tiger Days and the Midnight Foxes is another terrific book about Tiger and the animals she meets at Willowgate House. The drawings are gorgeous and Sarah Lean's vivid descriptions make the story come to life really well. I loved this second Tiger Days book and can't wait to read more about Tiger and her friends.
Honestly? I feel that it took far too long for the foxes to feature in this one, and Holly the cat was discussed / featured more than she was in the first book - which was supposed to be all about her!
Still a lovely, easy read with good messages for children about animal welfare and respecting wildlife, but just not very gratifying in my opinion. I'm also appalled that the builders took down the treehouse after spending time building it and securing it to the oak tree - surely Granny May Days could have paid for a few planks?!
Book 2 in Tiger Days series. Very nice story of Tiger who is staying at Her Grandma, May Days house for a weeks holiday. Her friend is the grandson who visits his Grandpa Grump next door and as her friendly cat is missing they become PET detectives to find out where she has gone, revealing a missing egg mystery as they go. a lovely story of families and doing the right thing. I enjoyed it and would recommend to confident 7+ readers
