The Price of Honor

Rate this book
Derrick Blackstock is a survivor. His defense of his sister landed him in prison and robbed him of three years of his life. He is grateful for the second chance he has been given to work for Housing Developer Jericho Jackson; and nothing will keep him from rebuilding his life. A dangerous attraction to a woman who is way out of his league will be kept firmly in check-especially if that woman is the gorgeous daughter of his employer.

Kenny Jackson believes she knows all about men like Derrick Blackstock. He is a rough, brutish sort who is all brawn and no brains. But when Derrick proves to be the most honorable man she has ever met, will her prejudices destroy any hope of a future with him?

A very good read! Abounds in love stories -just popping out everywhere. The Blackstock/Trent siblings have experienced a very rough life. Derrick, has felt and continues to feel an exaggerated need to protect his baby sister. While he was incarcerated for defending her he made sure to have her placed in a safe living environment. He is both brother and father along with guardian and protector. Now that Anna is fully grown, she wants to break out from that overprotectiveness of Big Brother. He marries his boss’s daughter and is just as protective with her. But Derrick Blackstock knows his role as a man. He fiercely loves Kenora(Kenny) and Kenny is helping him try to let go a little bit so not to smoother Anna. Anna is just a stubborn as Derrick and they are at an impasse. Because Fire, his mother’s boyfriend did harm Anna, Derrick thinks that will be every man’s intent with his sister. However, Johnathan, the spoiled rich lawyer is instantly smitten by the beautiful Anna Trent. He wants to know her, and he’s certain that he wants her to be his. The former playboy is now living his life for Christ and has taken a vow of celibacy. Even after Anna leaves the Island for four years, Johnathan is still pining for her. As a older version of more youthful self, she feel ready to date and break from Derrick’s strong arm of protection. Will Derrick allow his sister to find love, will he stand as a barrier to Anna enjoying her life as an adult woman? Johnathan had to be strategic to navigate the murky waters to make Anna his. Jericho Jackson is almost a hopeless case, but can love find such an almost intolerable man? Jericho is Kenora’s(Kenny) dad, and his wife died in a car crash some years back. He’s just become a working man with little time for tribal things of life -like love and being loving.

An absolutely fabulous book!

READ THIS BOOK! This story was an absolute treat to read. Beware--you won't be able to put it down. The characters are wonderfully drawn and I wished that I could be friends with them. Absolutely delightful. Enjoy.

Sweet Secular Story

This was a nice sweet secular story that was about being faithful to a higher power without being preachy. The story also focused on two men fighting against temptations of the flesh and honoring the women they loved. A good read

I enjoyed reading Kenny and Derrick and Jonathan and Anna's stories. I would have given it 4 stars but there was poor editing.
