In the following twelve lessons, the author has attempted to explain man's lawful appropriation of the supplies spiritually and electrically provided by God. When we understand and adjust our mind to the realm or kingdom where these rich ideas and their electrical thought forms exist, we shall experience in our temporal affairs what is called prosperity.
If I'm honest I really didn't read this, I skimmed it enough to know that I would never spend a minute reading it. Every single page referred to God, Jesus or some other Biblical reference. The advice was to trust God to pay your debt - chapter 8 is literally called "God will pay your debt" - Probably one of the most dangerous beliefs anyone could hold, in my opinion. Save yourself time you will never get back.
I was able to really translate Mr. Fillmore's principles into my life, and I am still practicing them because they have not quite become habit. I do try to say a few of them and mean them when I speak them. Mainly I focus on the concept of "I AM." I need to make it a regular part of my jargon.
* I am a strong immovable spirit substance. *I am rich in mind and manifestation. * I am always provided for because my faith in the omnipresent abundance. * I am of love and sound mind and God is the substance of my supply. * I am steadfast in the universal laws in all my affairs. * I am infinite in wisdom; I am prospered in Divine love. * I am unlimited in mind, money, and increase. * I am at ease with my finances. I owe no man anything but love.
My mantra. I suggest that if you need a mantra for life and how to be successful in it, not just financially but mentally physically and spiritually, read this book.
Do not think how little you have but how much you have. ~ Charles Fillmore, "Prosperity", page 137
Charles Fillmore uses his insight into the Bible to reveal that it is indeed God's will to prosper us. Prosperity was first published in 1936; therefore, I found some of the language used to be outdated, but still relevant if read with an open mind.
This book was recommended by John Templeton in his book, "The Templeton Plan".
This is one of the foundational New Thought books that lead to the popularity of The Law of Attraction and related spins like The Secret. The language was a bit challenging but the overall concept was simple. You get what you focus your energy on so think from a point of prosperity and not scarcity.
I have been getting a lot more out of it by listening to a chapter by chapter lesson podcast on Unity FM. I think it starts somewhere around May or June. Each episode is a different chapter.. He is probably one of the the best teachers I've come across... Here's the link if you are interested: http://www.unity.fm/program/TruthTran...
Charles was the co-founder of Unity, and years before his time. One of the spiritual warriors that started the new thought movement. It’s written in the language of 1900, so it takes a little work to process. But well worth the effort.
This is definitely one of the best prosperity book, if not the best one! Another great books are "Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles and "Spiritual Economics" by Eric Butterworth. Why I think this book as the best amongst them, because I think it pierced through the core of prosperity itself, which is Infinite Spirit and Infinite Substance of All (or God). It's also teach us to transcend the limited way of seeing money and prosperity. To release the acquisitiveness attitude to life and prosperity, and instead to stay centered in our Truth and Infinite Beingness as the very source of supplies and all things in life. I can say I'm really transformed by reading this for the first time. I can see just in a matter of few days that my energy changes. I feel more centered in Spirit and have deeper faith in Infinite Substance. There's also an effortless demonstration of abundance in my daily life. The usual LoA stuff really looks pale in comparison with this book/Charles Fillmore's teaching. While LoA is all about getting, getting, and desire; Fillmore taught us the realization of Spirit and how to own and express that power in our daily life.
Charles Fillmore is one of my favorite "new" thought forefathers. His words are complex and intense for his time and is still too tied to traditional Christian thought. It is a great read if you can see beyond the headiness and conservatism. Fillmore is one of the founders of the Unity and did amazing ground work to the spiritual freedom we have today!
Charles Fillmore outlines the spiritual principles of prosperity and abundant living. These teachings are based upon the Bible and the words of Jesus. "We need to realize above all else that God has provided for the most minute needs of our daily life and that if we lack anything it is because we have not used our mind in making the right contact with the supermind and the cosmic ray that automaticall7 flows from it." (Charles Fillmore - Foreword)
I have read a lot of books on this subject and I thought this is among the best. It is straight and to the point while using Scripture to back up what he is trying to teach her. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in New Thought philosophy.
I have lost count of how many times I have read a book written by Dr. Catherine Ponder, during which she featured a passage from this book. Truly, I AM long overdue to read it.
