I was surprised by the many convenience foods used in the recipes and lack of directions on others. I expected more of a “homemade” recipe book.

I love the style and simplicity of amish cooking. This book was very dated. I found a lot of great recipes that I will adapt as I do not have a pressure cooker. Simple pie recipes that look great. Also jotted down some notes on "dressings" aka stuffing. A lot of their recipes call for Miracle Whip, I still can't get used to the idea that it is called a salad dressing.
