A guide to the museum from 1968, some decent illustrations, but otherwise horribly dated.

Ik ben nooit in Tokyo geweest en dat heb ik met de meeste Nederlanders gemeen. Maar dankzij dit boek krijg ik toch een indruk van de rijke kunstverzameling uit China en Japan die hier te zien zijn. Veel sculpturen, tekeningen, geschilderde stoffen, vazen etc van lang voor de Christelijke jaartelling tot met de negentiende eeuw. De Japanse en Chinese beschaving ontwikkelde zich lange tijd los van die van het westen. Je komt in dit museum geen westerse kunst tegen, maar de heel andere kunst die je daar kunt zien heeft ook daar veel hoogtepunten.
