I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

Something of a parody of a child's book that explains the philosophy of Nietzsche. Simplistic, and entertaining, with some good illustrations.

now THIS is a book for a baby. Beautiful while addressing the oft-overlooked elements of play in Fred's work.

This is hands down one of the best children's books I've ever seen. My 8 year old and I were reading it and my 12 year old boy sits down beside us and comments, "That's deep. Mom, why do you read such deep and emotional books?"

Nietzsche in Shapes and Colors by Halla Dagdromma is a board book that is a feast for the eye and a treat for the mind, an insightful delight for all ages. This book is a translation from a Swedish book which was published in 1974, and while geared toward children, it is equally inspiring to adults. It contains beautiful, colorful illustrations using shapes and colors paired with simple, yet insightful poems based on the words of the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, who believed that engaging in music, dance, and art were important and fundamental elements of the human spirit. This book does that well in an imaginative way.

I won this beautiful book in a Goodreads Giveaway. At first, my reaction was, "I don't think I get this." But then, two of my grown children. the philosophers in the family read it through. Both of their reactions were: "This book is amazing!! I want it!!!" I then gave it a more thoughtful read, and I have to agree, this beautiful, colorful boardbook is a lot more than meets the eye. To a Nietzche fan, the reaction will also be: THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!
