Winter is coming and Mama Bear has found the perfect spot for hibernating. But Baby Bear doesn’t want to go to sleep. First he wants a snack. Then he wants a drink. And now he wants the moon! What is loving, but very sleepy, Mama Bear to do?

Mother Bear takes Baby Bear to sleep in a cave for the winter but Baby Bear needs everything he's used to having to go to sleep. Though Mother Bear is exhausted and exasperated, she complies with Baby Bear's requests because he's only asking for what he's always had. When he asks for the moon, Mother Bear asks the moon itself for help. What a kind mother and a lucky child. If you've got a kid who loves the moon, you've got to read this book.
Although it didn't say anything about hibernation and why the Bears were going to sleep all winter, it's still a very enjoyable book with a sweet ending.
This book is one of my favorites! Its endearing story shows the love between a mom and a baby bear as they get ready to hibernate for the winter. They both go out of their way to make sure they both have what they need.
Yet another great book by Frank Asch with fun characters including the moon and a deeper meaning. Mother bear and her baby bear are going to hibernate for the winter yet it is in a new and different location for baby bear. Baby bear wants certain things to make him feel more comfortable. Mother bear even asks the moon for help and they end up falling asleep. This story would be great for bedtime or a first time sleepover at a camp or friend's house.
I've always liked Frank Asch's books and stories. This one I bought to give to my 17 month granddaughter. It's time for Bear to go into hibernation with his mom. But he can't go to sleep and makes requests for his usual snack, water, and then the moon. With his simple and bold illustrations, the book is perfect. Bear finally gets everything he needs, plus of course, a final goodnight kiss from his Mama. Very cute and tender for all young children to have read before bedtime.
Cute story about the Mama Bear and Baby Bear who went to the cave to sleep through the winter. Baby Bear has a rough time adjusting to a cave, but with the help and love from his mother, he finally goes to sleep. I did read to my 1st grade class when we were talking about the Winter time. They love it.
This book is about a bear who is going through his nighttime routine in a different environment because he and his mother are hibernating. Even though the mother is exhausted, she complies, because she knows that is what Baby Bear is used to. It is a great book to read right before bedtime.
Mama and baby bear are heading to a cave for their long winter's nap, but baby bear has a hard time sleeping because he's hungry, then thirsty, and then needs the moon. It's very sweet how Mama Bear gets all of these things for him and then he can finally fall asleep. Precious little story.
This is a great book that not only tells a good story, but also teaches students about bears and hibernation. While it is a fairly simple explanation, it still establishes the basic idea that the teachers can then expand on.
This was a cute book that could help introduce students to hibernation. I didn't think it was super educational though. More of a feel good book with a happy ending. Cute pictures though and a decent book overall
