Charlie was married to the 6th Earl of Calverton but he died in a fire that destroyed their home and the world thought she had died also. Charlie goes to London after the fire and becomes the owner of a brothel. Her girls are highly prized and Charlie tries to make things better for her girls. She meets Colonel Jordan Lyndhurst when he comes to her brothel after learning there is an Asian girl who can give massages that will ease the pain in his back. She has left Madame Charlie's but taught Charlie how to do the massage. When Jordan meets Charlie there is no one else he wants but he cannot get Charlie to see it his way. Charlie has to relook at her past and discover that it does not keep her from having a future with Jordan. I liked Charlie and Jordan. She is very reserved. Jordan is the more openly emotional one but both have deep emotions. I liked how Jordan teases Charlie and how Charlie opens up to him because of the gentleness that he shows. I also liked the supporting cast. I liked that Charlie had Matty through her difficult past. I also liked that Charlie was able to make new friends such as Elizabeth. I would also like to see Elizabeth in her own story. Good read

A historical erotic novel. Pretty good. Wish it would have been more in-depth. A young woman inherits #14 Beaulieu Crescent. A house in London. But the house is a high class brothel. She stuggles to keep her identy secret and becomes Madam Charlie.

Jordan Lyndhurst, ex militar y nuevo conde de Calverton, queda prendado de la dueña de un burdel de la que nadie sabe de su pasado. Es que Madame Charlie es en realidad, una dama viuda a la que le pasaron cosas terribles en su matrimonio. Entonces Jordan intentará conquistarla y hacerle superar sus “traumas sexuales”.
Las escenas sexuales están bien, pero la historia no está desarrollada para nada, como que todo queda en una buena idea y nada más que escenas eróticas. Algunas cosas ridículas como cierta ingenuidad en Charlie, por más que haya tenido malas experiencias en el pasado: ¡por Dios! ¡Estuvo dirigiendo un burdel por casi un año!
¡Me gusta la erótica, pero con un buen argumento! O historia o desarrollo de los personajes.
(O sea, Sahara Kelly nada que ver con Robin Schone ni Kate Pearce, que quede claro)
Por otra parte, la traducción.
Si bien estoy a favor de las palabras sexuales latinas en una novela contemporánea cosmopolita, no en una histórica.
En fin, con esas salvedades sólo la recomendaría para “entonarse” un poco con las escenas eróticas, que son lindas y normales (nada de látigos ni ataduras).
