Why Mama Why: A Little Giraffe’s First Day on Earth
“Why, Mama, Why,” asks Little Giraffe as she tries to make sense of the world around her. Little Giraffe is new to the world, and she has all kinds of questions for Mother Giraffe. Sometimes the answers are easy and sometimes they’re hard. It doesn’t take long for Little Giraffe to realize that life is full of lessons and Mother Giraffe is a loving guide.
Little Giraffe is a baby animal just beginning to learn new experiences and how to handle them. From figuring out how to sleep with such a long neck, to staying clear of a prowling lion, Little Giraffe is growing up and Mother Giraffe is guiding her toward health and wellbeing.

Cute but....
Why Mama Why....does the artist leave such a mess around the figures? It was nice characters but the artist didn't erase the outside pencil lines and every picture has this mess around each character and it is very distracting! Even in the all color sunset scenes, the pencil lines still show up! This would've been a much cuter story if the images weren't so messed up.

African Savannah. Mother Giraffe (mother) welcomed her baby Little Giraffe (daughter) into the world.
The 1st thing she must learn is to stand/walk.
She kept telling momma Giraffe she couldn’t do it. A little encouragement seemed to work.
Next, she was taught to eat the right/important things to make her grow & get stronger.
The pond was next to get a drink of water.
Mother Giraffe was laughing Little Giraffe had fallen into the water.
She was curious about her spots.
A lion was approaching the little 1.
A swift kick in the snout took care of him.
What would the next day bring for the 2 of them.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written children’s book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

This is a sweet story of the love between a mother and child. The pencil illustrations are different and beautiful. The story is enriching. The baby giraffe wants to learn his lessons on everything.
One day on the Savannah of Africa a baby was born. Why are we here mama. "We are here to live and learn.". First you must learn to stand. I can't do it mama. Try again. The baby giraffe finally made it up and the mother was proud. Now he tried walking. After awhile he got that lesson too. He tried to drink water and fell in. He wondered why his mama was laughing at him. She told him she was laughing at life. We all fall down and have to get back up again. What do they do now? What is that I see coming at them? I see danger. You might want to read/ listen so you can find out about the danger.
I highly recommend this wonderful book.

I was very fortunate to win this book in a giveaway. I say very fortunate because the story and message in this book are wonderful for children. The illustrations are beautiful, too. I am looking forward to sharing this book with my young grandchildren.

A great little children's picture book with an excellent messages for children. A story about a mother teaching her baby how to survive. The illustrations are awesome and colorful. I love that this picture book allows you to zoom in if needed and the font size it good. I am looking forward to sharing this book with my young grandchildren.
