From the New York Times bestselling author of The Corruption Chronicles comes a devastating expose of the scandals of Obama's second term. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton reveals what the largest watchdog agency in America has uncovered in its battles against Obama secrecy.
Clean House takes us through incriminating documents from the attack in Benghazi, Hillary Clinton’s secret emails, the IRS scandal, and the Obamacare swindle.
As the president of Judicial Watch, America’s largest non-partisan government watchdog, Tom Fitton has investigated the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations. Judicial Watch is the group that helped impeach Bill Clinton and took the Bush White House secrecy all the way up to the Supreme Court. Since the beginning of the Obama administration, this grassroots group has filed over 700 open records demands and dozens of lawsuits, including a successful fight over the secret Obama White House visitor logs.
Americans are rightly worried they are losing their country. How did five Congressional committees miss the smoking gun on Benghazi? How did Hillary Clinton keep a secret email server quiet for years? Does the IRS audit you because of your politics? Did the first American target of Obama’s drone program work for the US government? How did Congress commit fraud to get Obamacare taxpayer subsidies?
In Clean House, Tom Fitton answers these questions and provides shocking evidence of the corruption endemic to the Obama White House.
Highly recommended!! Every voter should read this book before voting. Judicial Watch is a bipartisan watchdog group that has been on OUR side for many years, and their great work continues. I am grateful we have them to fight government corruption. They have truly made a difference! This book will take you through the details of Hillary's email scandal and why it matters, the Fast and Furious scandal, voter fraud, the mess that is Obamacare and why you should care about how it's being mishandled, the use of the IRS as a political tool, immigration and border enforcement, and terrorism and Obama's recklessness. The appendix contains copies of evidence and various documents that back up the information in the book. I noticed a few one star ratings. My only guess is that those people failed to read the book and are simply trolls who have their heads buried so deep in the sand of delusion that they are willingly blind to all the scandals and corruption that has plagued our government. How anyone could look past the lack of morals and ethics in the current administration and with the Clintons is a serious concern. Judicial Watch makes it their mission to work for the American people "Because no one is above the law."
Clean House: Exposing Our Government's Secrets and Lies by Tom Fitton presents the activities of a non-partisan group Judicial Watch. Through the use of legal methods including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and filing of lawsuits, Judicial Watch has been able to expose corruption at all levels of government to expose what is actually happening especially the things administrations of both parties would prefer to keep hidden. This is particularly helpful when internal departments within an administration are not likely to investigate the programs and policies of their own party; this includes the self-proclaimed "most transparent administration in American history," that of Barack Obama. His was actually one the the most secretive since that of Richard Nixon and has been the least cooperative to disclose requested documents and information requested through our legal system. The author does provide specific examples from both parties but the volume of requests stonewalled or slow walked through the system has been so overwhelming with respect to the Obama administration in particular that it appears to be their official policy to hide information as their nature when it comes to any and all requests. Many of the scandals of the Obama administration would have likely slid under the radar if it weren't for the efforts of Tom Fitton and Judicial Watch! Excellent expose of government obfuscation and deceit.
Before reviewing this book, or considering its slanted, absurd hostility, one needs to look at the author, and the group Judicial Watch. Judicial Watch had made numerous false and unsubstantiated claims, usually picked up by right wing news outlets. Almost every lawsuit they have filed has been dismissed due to their lack of evidence. They have been rightly chastised for slowing down the system with their baseless and frivolous lawsuits. It's a diversionary tactic, used by many in politics.
This book has nothing to do with finding fact, or understanding what is going on in our world or with our government. Its obvious bias and ridiculous slant make this just one more book of worthless unproven rhetoric, hate mongering and witch hunting. It was certainly interesting .....albeit terrifying...that so few bother to look to the source, who collaborated with Steve Bannon and advertises on Breitbart...... what a fucking joke..... don't bother
A disturbing reality that our elected representatives and their appointees are so far from upholding and defending our US Constitution and are misrepresenting the citizens of our land.
For those wondering how someone like Donald Trump just won the election, this is a good place to start to learn why. I think many people became sick of the previous administration's lax foreign policy, open borders, disregard for law, lack of transparency, and crony capitalism. This book touches on all of that. The vast majority of American people saw the swamp that is DC and felt the best option for president was a Washington outsider businessman who would take no guff and drain it. (Though I fully expect Judicial Watch to keep an eye on his administration too.)
The organization Judicial Watch reports on a number of Freedom Of Information Act requests and the stories that went along with each one.
From politicians and elected officials to three letter agencies there are interesting stories that are or should be of great concern to the US public. The governments idea of what is Freedom of Information is put on display in an eye opening way or for some a continuing verification of problems.
The IRS and its abuses of sectors of American institutions and people is particularly disturbing. That and military adventurism or mismanagement by the civilian sector are two stories of the abuse of public trust that stand out in this book.
While Judicial Watch has a political bias (what organization doesn't) they are very transparent in what they find and document well in this work the events and people they have used public resources to illuminate.
It is astonishing how good this book is. I had no idea how much Judicial Watch had done for our citizens.
I didn't realize they they were a conservative group either, but that doesn't come into play at all in the book or their actions. They genuinely seem nonpartisan in their actions. And I'm not a conservative by any means (nor a liberal anymore, as that definition has seemed to change; I seem to now be in the growing politically homeless group).
Read it. You'll change your mind about government for sure. The healthcare scam perpetrated by Congress (both right and left) presented in one chapter alone will likely motivate you to want to find some way to be a part of fighting the corruption.
For a government supposedly "by the people", it's nice to know a real watchdog group is fighting tooth and nail to keep that truth alive.
Tom Fitton, the leader of the Judicial Watch, investigates political corruption. The investigations discussed in this book are mostly focused on the Obama presidency. The book goes into depth on the 2012 Benghazi attack, IRS targeting controversy, ATF gunwalking and multiple other government scandals. Fitton at times will wander off on political rants which detracts from the main goal of this book. If you can stomach partisan rhetoric, the details and facts presented in this book are worth the read.
Even if you don't agree with Judicial Watch's conservative bias, this is an important book on government corruption. WikiLeaks, ACLU & Judicial Watch are key organizations fighting for government transparency.
Tom Fitton writes a most revealing book about the corruption that exists in high places; namely, the offices of the US State Department and the Presidency. He uses the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and suits brought by Judicial Watch, a government watchdog group consisting of top-notch judges and lawyers. This book is about the Obama administration years which include Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State and her post cabinet status as Democratic candidate for President of the United States.
This American reviewer remembers when the events in this book take place. Fitton fills in the details about questions that arise from that administration's behavior. The subjects are those that make headlines and engage most Americans in the world of politics. They are: Hillary's email cover-up, leaks and hacks exposing national vulnerabilities and confidential information weakening America's security, government secrets and lies, fraud, Obamacare exemptions to get the bill passed, bullying of Conservative and Tea Party groups before elections by the IRS and its cover-up, refusing to prosecute those apparently guilty of lying to the American people, refusing to enforce the immigration laws and allowing illegal aliens convenient passage into America with safety in Sanctuary Cities, and downplaying terrorism in America that arises as a result of slackened Federal policies and Islamophobia.
The subjects also include the main stream media's response to these circumstances which pit Liberal against Conservative, political correctness, which deems certain words as unacceptable or insensitive, against political incorrectness, which claims that Liberals use political correctness to demonize their opponents.
Clean House: Exposing Our Government's Secrets and Lies explains why and how the great divide in America exists. The outcome of the last election displays -much to the chagrin of the Left socialists - that Americans do not trust their government nor do they trust the main stream media, anymore. The divide is not going away until the people are shown that government puts their security and opportunity for prosperity first instead of using political power to build selfish kingdoms for those who occupy the seats of power in these United States of America.
This book covers many of the political scandals that have come to light during the Obama presidency. Of note is that many of these scandals would never have become known to the general public without the work of Judicial Watch to request government records through Freedom of Information Act requests.
Despite a promise that his would be the most transparent administration ever, Obama has done the opposite and has fought every effort to reveal actions that have been against the best interest of the general public.
There are chapters that cover Benghazi, Hillary's email cover-up, Fast and Furious, voter fraud, Obamacare, The IRS actions against conservative groups, immigration and border enforcement, and terrorism.
Those who follow politics will be familiar with much of the information covered, but it is sobering to realize that without the work of Judicial Watch, much of the government corruption would go uncovered and unnoticed.
One story that I was not familiar with was the steps taken by someone in Congress on behalf of their 20,000 employees to make them eligible for Obamacare subsidies that were only supposed to be used by small businesses with less than 50 employees! A case of insiders not needing to follow the laws that everyone else follows. Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request to see who originated this fraudulent action. When the document came back, the approver's name was blacked out. When Judicial Watch took further steps to find out whose name it was, thelr efforts were denied by all the Democrats on the approval committee joined by enough Republicans to end Judicial Watch's efforts to discover who was the instigator of this fraud.
This is a book that all voters should have to read to recognize the corruption that seems to be rampant in Washington.
Highly recommended. Put it on your reading list. You won't be sorry.
If Tom would let up a little on the constant advertisement and discuss how to file a FOIA, where to file and what circumstances its reasonable and who has the authority to disapprove or approve and how it all works would be better served when reading his page after page of business advertisement. What is the possible outcome when someone releases the documents and who allows what documents to be released and how, what is the cost… get the picture.
Interesting. Judicial Watch is a much needed watchdog, and the book gives a nice overview of the difficulties in getting information regarding the activities of various agencies. I wouldn't call it the "end-all" of the scandals it relates, but there is certainly enough information to grab a readers attention. I liked the examples of the IRS Scandal documents, to judge for myself how much was intentional harassment.
Excellebnt detail in exposing government corruption. It's amazing, and yet not surprising, that our government does as it pleases without any regard to the people who elected them. Material was presented thoroughly and supported by facts. Thanks for your investigative work.
This is a great book chocked full of facts and information. Tom Fitton demonstrates just how far our government politicians and public employees have gone to break the law. The information in this book makes you want to just throw up your hands in frustration but, by the end you want to join with Judicial Watch and go after these law breakers.
While Fitton points out all of the things the Obama administration did not take care of -- and did not adequately let the public see -- his ideas that this is only something that happens during Democratic "regimes" are far-fetched. Still, his premise that transparency and accountability are very important. There is too much secret-keeping, and it harms the average citizen
Most depressing book I've ever read. The swamp in our federal government is real, but just like in many groups of people there are a few good people . It's impossible to know who is there for the people rather than greed and power and self admiration.
Amazing what he has to say about election integrity years before the disasters of the 2020 election. All his books are worth reading in chronological order to see how we got to the mess we're in now.
Every voter must read this book. A disturbing description of unchecked abuses of power at the National level. Ambivalence surrounding the Benghazi fiasco simply made me angry.
An conservative Americans guide into Obama's and Hillary Clinton's campaign for undermining the American people's rights for knowing what the government is doing.
A must read for all Americans that want good government! Chronicals the many, many crimes of the Obama presidency. The chapters include:
Peeling Back the Benghazi Cover-up Hillary Clinton’s Private Email Cover-up Fast and Furious Voter Fraud Obamacare: Congress Exempts Itself Using the IRS as a Political Tool Immigration and Border Enforcement Terrorism and the Reckless Actions of the Obama Administration
This is probably one of the most important non profit organizations in the country monitoring the government. Unfortunately they are pushed aside from most media outlets. This is a non political party organization that is just trying to look out for American citizens and defend the Constitution. They file suit after file with the courts to have the government release information to the public.
This book looks at the following:
The incriminating documents from the attack on Benghazi-how Obama/Clinton ignored emails and requests for enforcements for the area prior to the attacks. How they did nothing after it was being reported they were being attacked, even though there were fighters that were in range of the area. There were multiple conversations with the two and they chose to do nothing about it. Then how Obama/Clinton tried to spin it, cover it up and said the attack was because of a 3 year video on youtube from a pastor in Washington was the reason for the attacks. That was even denounced by the networks as being false.
Hillary's secret emails. Back in 2014 the State Department knew of Clinton's private email system and chose to do nothing about it trying to wait until after the 2016 election. There is just so much to write about it how everyone tried to cover it up I am not even going to try to go into detail about it.
Fast and Furious program. This is a program that the ATF (directed by Obama and Holder) to sell low level illicit weapon purchases who work for the Mexican drug cartel smuggle to buy them in Phoenix and smuggle them back to Mexico. If it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen is because it is... They were hoping that law enforcements could identify other members of a trafficking network and build a large, complex conspiracy case... Well those guns have been used in numerous murders on Americans. Holder resigned saying he was going to continue the Civil Rights movement, but why would he do so if he was the Attorny General? Well he was caught lying to Congress about the program and left suddenly as his own Justice Department was not going to investigate him...
Voter Fraud, how in 2008 the New Black Panther Party in Philly stood on doorways of a polling place shouting racial insults, blocking poll watchers from entering the building. At the time Robert Popper was deputy chief in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division of the US Justice Dept. He had a case against them. After Obama won and appointed Holder, he was told to stop with the proceedings for all of them them. Popper left the JD and joined Judicial Watch in disgust of what was happening. How Hilary was able to beat Bernie in 6 different precincts in the Iowa primaries based 6 coin flips. The odds against winning six out of six coin flips are 64 to 1 or 1.56%. The rig was in to get her elected.
IRS Scandal-in 2012 the JD, by the direction of Obama, targeted any Right wing political groups during the election process and held up any new potential non profit organization so they would not be able to raise money against Democrats and Obama during the election. This was an unfair advantage.
Obamacare -this is a hot mess. A couple things. First how the IT admission of Obamacare said it wasn't ready, but was pushed to roll it out. How numerous security companies said it was not security proof and rolled out instead. How the government allowed this to happen and expose hundred of thousands of personal information. How Congress tried to claim they were a small business and be entitled to more than $77M in taxpayers money to subsided health care.
Immigration-how the administration instructs govs to allow illegible immigrants who commit crimes to go back on the streets and not deport them after crimes. Tying to give them amnesty, giving $182M to Baptist Children and Family Services for just 2,400 "unaccompanied alien children" for only four months. How districts are being redone to count illegible immigrants in the population count even if they are not allowed to vote to have more controlling regions and budgets. This only favors Democrats.
I am just glad that Clinton was not elected to office as she would have continued to undermine the US Constitution for her party and for herself.
Mr. Fitton does an excellent job of exposing the corruption in our government. I have been a follower of Judicial Watch for many years and this book gives examples of all of the recent corruption which has been exposed through FOIA requests. Every American should read this book ; but beware it will "make your head spin" as you read about the DHS supplying cell phones, tv's, free food, clothes to the hordes of people crossing our borders and breaking our laws. The money our government spends on this lawlessness should be going to help our inner cities recover, provide jobs for Americans (especially African Americans) and improve our nation. Much is exposed but, unfortunately, no one seems to have been brought to justice or held accountable.
Tom Fitton’s analysis of the numerous Hillary and Obama scandals which continue to plague the country makes compelling reading. Confused about media coverage of their scandals? Read his book instead for a lucid summary of major events over the eight years of the Obama White House.
Speaking about the lack of transparency on numerous conflicts created by the former president, Fitton writes, “If the Obama administration truly had nothing to hide, it would not have gone to such extraordinary lengths to keep information on what it was doing and its internal machinations from the public” (9).
Chapter four on voter fraud was especially compelling, particularly the hostile tactics of the New Black Panther Party in its attempts to suppress the white vote (120ff).
Regarding photo IDs needed for voting, Fitton declares that “There is simply no evidence to support the contention that the requirement to show a photo ID (which are provided for free in every state with such a requirement) discourages legitimate voters from voting” (123).
How Obama stole the 2008 election can be surmised from Fitton’s commentary from page 133 on. Also, how was it possible that Obama released 36,000 criminal aliens into the country instead of deporting them? Fitton’s analysis of Obama’s dereliction of duty as commander in chief and upholder of law is frightening (183ff). Even more dangerous is Obama’s inaction regarding the creation of ISIS terror cells on US soil (192ff).
Not all is doom and gloom. Fitton praises the investigative journalism of CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson (109ff). As an Ohioan, I am particularly proud of Secretary of State Jon Husted, who worked with Judicial Watch and cleaned up the mess created and ignored by the previous secretary of state, Democrat Jennifer Brunner (128).
Readers will find some familiar names mentioned in Fitton's study: Robert Mueller (208ff) and James Comey (236). No wonder President Trump still has to deal with these people; they have been entrenched in Deep State self-preservation tactics for years.
A helpful appendix shows redacted emails from the Lois Lerner IRS scandal, where she targeted, no doubt with Obama’s approval, conservative political action groups. Pages of notes and an ample index make research easy, especially for students.
Fitton’s summary was so impressive that I donated to Judicial Watch, liked its Facebook page, and subscribed to the group’s YouTube channel. You will find this book so interesting that you will do the same.
Finally, given the scandals that Democrats continue to create and the stonewalling tactics which they use in their resistance to cleaning up Washington, Fitton will have much more to write about in subsequent years.
This is an excellent book about the continuing corruption and concealment which goes on in our government. There will, of course, be those who think this is only the ravings of conspiracy theorists, intent on blackening the name of the Obama administration, and those associated with it (in particular Hillary Clinton).
Unfortunately, for those who think this way, the statements in this book are all supported by copious documentation. Nor is all of it directed against the Clintons and Obama. The Judicial Watch organization was not formed to fight the Democrats, but to uncover misconduct in the government. Formed in 1994, during the Clinton administration, it also hounded the George W. Bush administration, compelling the production of improperly held secrets. The work of this organization increased geometrically during the Obama administration, but in large part because of improprieties of Hillary Clinton and her powerful positions in it.
The problems discussed in this book will not be going away anytime soon. The arrogance of those who wield great power is a source of many problems in America's government. The use of the Federal Freedom of Information Act is one way to keep the government accountable, and Judicial Watch has become expert at enforcing the Act against a recalcitrant government.
What keeps this book from garnering five stars, instead of the merely four rated here, is because it is overly self-referential. It spends almost as much ink praising Judicial Watch as it does discussing the improprieties it has uncovered. Nonetheless, a good read, and an important one if you want to keep apprised of the machinations of a corrupt government.
I'm going to recommend this to many of my political activist friends. The author, Tom Fitton, is the head of Judicial Watch, one of the top gov't watchdog groups in the USA. His blow by blow recitation of how this last administration politicized the IRS & the DOJ for it's own political dirty tricks, the open borders scandals (and the consequences) and so much more is, well, captivating reading. A fairly quick & easy read, and well worth the time. My own copy is already out on loan, and I have a waiting list of friends who want to borrow it.
This book is the sequel to Tom Fitton's 2012 expose, "The Corruption Chronicles." It does not have the drama and compelling narrative of the first book, but reports on important investigations--Benghazi, Clinton Email, "Fast and Furious," voter fraud, deployment of the IRS as a political tool, immigration and border enforcement, terrorism, Obamacare and how congress exempts itself. Judicial Watch leads the way in pursuing abuses in all agencies of the government. These two volumes report on their work and draw us in as informed and involved citizens. Watch Tom Fitton's weekly reports on YouTube, and support the vital work of Judicial Watch with your donations!!
