This is a beautifully illustrated insight to charcoal for those in the intermediate to advanced students of art. It is made of good materials second to none. There is a wealth of knowledge for students young and old and is worth purchasing just for the images.
Really liked the book, clear instruction and a lot of info on the principles of portrait drawing. To me, it would be perfect if it had more about actual charcoal techniques used, perhaps at the expense of including less gallery.
This book is a treasure! There is everything I wanted and even more. Especially helpful was the part with examples of "wrong" and corrected version of drawing next to it, with description.
