With recognition of the thousands of children saved from death and serious injury because of these preventative measures, Douglas J. Bersharov shares reports, charts, and analysis on how professionals and care takers alike can work to recognize and interfere with unsafe situations for children.
This is a well-written book but due to the nature of the subject, I only gave it 3 stars. I had to read it for my foster-care training. It was very informative. One take away I learned from this book is to be careful not to wrongly accuse people of child abuse as it can destroy lives. The author made it very clear how to recognize signs and how to be an informed citizen.
