This books gives a really good introduction to what dehydrating is and the benefits for storing/using dehydrated food. The first section is an overview, the second section is basics of dehydrating specific foods, the third section is dehydrated food recipes (jerky, fruit leather), and the last section is recipes using dehydrated food ingredients. I thought the overview was really good and helpful and there are a few recipes I'd like to try. Overall, a good cookbook on this topic.

I WANT A DEHYDRATOR!!

Actually I have always wanted one but I never realized until I read this book today how many and what an amazing variety of recipes you can make using a DEHYDRATOR! I thought they were just for dried fruit and veggies and if you were brave maybe jerky.....ahh, there is so much more! Check it out!

I just got my first dehydrator

I wanted to use it for more than jerky and drying the apples from the trees in my yard. This book gives me lots of ideas. The recipes for using the dried food are a nice addition. I am very happy with this purchase!

A solid beginner's guide to dehydrating. A lot of the information on basic dehydrating I had already gathered from various sources, but it was really lovely to have it all in one place (not on my computer). I didn't love all of the "using your dehydrated ingredients" recipes, but a few snagged my attention and will definitely be tried out in my kitchen.

I should probably stop collecting cookbooks, but I'm adding this one to my to-buy list anyway.

A gorgeous, organized, enlightening book. The first half is instructions on how to dehydrate all sorts of food and the second half is recipes to use all those dehydrated foods in. I loved the photographers and the presentation.

A very practical and easy to follow book. However, as someone who prefers recipe books with lots of pictures, this book fell slightly short for me, hence the four star review.

I really enjoyed this book. I have an older dehydrator and have been drying fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The instructions give a lot of new ideas about new foods to try plus recipes for using dehydrated food
