Ava

Just a maid...

That's how they see me--all they'll ever see when they look at me.
But I am more, so much more.
We can't change the past, the hand we've been dealt,
But we can play that hand and win in the end.
And that's what I plan to do--what I've always planned to do.

Then he came into my life.
Jaxon Prescott.
He's everything I want,
But nothing I'm permitted to have.
He's too good, too perfect,
For someone like me.
After all, I'm just a maid,
To them.
They don't know the real me,
My dreams, my fears, my past,
My secrets.

Jax

A rich playboy....

That's how they see me--all they'll ever see when they look at me.
They've got it all wrong,
So wrong.
I've been living a lie, a fabrication of what they want,
And I thought it was what I wanted.

Then she came into my life.
Ava Cortes.
She reminded me of what I want,
What I need,
And who I really am.

She's everything,
But nothing I'm supposed to have.
She's not right, not polished enough
For someone like me.
After all, I'm high class society--better than everyone else,
To them.
They don't know the real me,
My dreams, my fears, my past,
My secrets.

* This is a stand-alone, full-length romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger.

I love Cinderella Stories. My first story by this author. This is a interracial story although the leading lady is not black she is a woman of colour.

This is Ava and Jax's story. I was hooked as soon as I started reading it. Jax really had to work for his redemption in this story. Another good read.

I received this book an ARC for an honest review, so here goes!
We meet Ava straight off the plane. She been sent to her aunt in Miami because of the tragic death of her mother. She ends up falling into the arms of a very handsome young man! By the time she gets to the house she can't stop thinking about him! She is a very beautiful young woman and she is smart, funny, witty and above all I think she has a big heart. She has dreams of her own but they are put on hold for the time being as her Aunt has got her a job with the family she has been working for. Her and her Aunt get reacquainted.
Jax is the one who helps Ava at the airport and can't help but admire how beautiful she is. He's about to say something but reality comes crashing in. So just says goodbye!
They then up coming face to face with each other and Jax is struck again by how beautiful she but, as ever he's his arrogant, cocky self and that doesn't do anything to help with Ava! They get off to a rocky start, but slowly the start to bond and become friends even though Jax wants more and secretly so does Ava! Jax helps her find out who her father is but Gaby convinces her not pursue him!
Mrs Prescott doesn't approve of Ava, so she sets her up, and fires her but Ava has the last laugh in my opinion! Ava leaves willingly!
The next part of the book is 6 years later and Ava has made a very big success of her life thanks to her father who gave her a step in the direction she wanted to go! She has love from her father and also 2 younger brothers who she adores and they adore her! I was thrilled to see some happiness in her life!
She comes face to face with Jax again and all the old feelings come rushing back in full force but she to hurt and angry to see that she still loves him!
This time when Jax see Ava again he know he still loves her and he won't stop this time until he has her by his side! He keeps taking her rejection and my heart hearts for him! She's afraid to be rejected all over again!
I loved every thing about this story! The young love, the heartache, and the hard work they put into their lives and the coming together years later that shows their love never died!
I'd love to read a novella to see what happens next in the life! A wonderful read!

Jax and Ava meet in a airport, both having the equal attraction for the other, but thinking they would never again see each other after they parted ways. Only to run into each other again later that day, Jax was always the playboy with the reputation, and Ava was the good girl who had to just lost her mother recently and was just starting fresh in the US not looking for love but looking to better her life in any way she was able to. Jax changed the day Ava came into his life, his friends and family could tell, Ava's aunt Gaby seen the attraction between the two and she warned her niece to not get to close as he would break her heart!

What I enjoyed most about Maid For You is watching the changed between both Ava and Jax, Jax for one couldnt even really think of any other woman besides for Ava and wanting to spend all his free time with her, Ava who tried and tried to say no at every turn but to be charmed into spending time with him, and in the end falling for him. But of course there is always someone who is behind the scenes that can try to destroy it all, even after years apart they still had this love for each other that every one could see, but when Jax tries to get her back Ava isnt willing to get her heart broken like last time and that is why she has put up steel around her heart all these years!

This was an amazing book, I couldnt put it down you could feel both of their emotions and their story kept you wanting more and more. This story has a girl who has lost her mom and is going to the US to have a better life with the help of her aunt, A boy who gets what he wants when he wants it but for once is turned down by possibly the one girl he wants the most in the world, a story of a girl who finally gets to meet her dad and have a chance at a family again, loosing love and getting it back after 6 years of heartache, If you like stories like this, then Maid For You is a must!

Maid For You is the story of Ava and Jax. It’s divided into two books. In book 1, Ava has no choice but to give up her dreams and move from Mexico to Miami after the death of her mother. With the help of her aunt Gaby, Ava has a part-time job as a maid and is now living in what could be best described as a huge beautiful mansion. While she may not be living the life she hoped for herself, she is grateful for all that she has and is willing to work hard. She first meets Jax when he is there to catch her from falling in the airport. Little did she know that they would soon meet again. Jax just so happens to be the son of her new employers. He is home for the summer with plans to relax and enjoy himself before returning to law school. But plans are able to be changed especially when this summer will have an huge impact on both Ava and Jax.

While there was an instant connection between Ava and Jax, nothing happened. Ava wanted to keep their relationship professional. Jax being his cocky and arrogant self was not quite ready to say goodbye to his bachelor ways and it didn’t help that Ava caught him in a very interesting position. However, somehow a friendship with some flirting was formed. And along the way, secrets were revealed, threats were made, and love was found. But we all know that a Cinderella story would not be complete without some evil heartless people and people who are guilty of staying silent.

In book 2, it’s now 6 years later and a lot has changed. I don’t want to give anything away so all I am going to say is expect the unexpected. A few people disappointed me at one time or another but luckily in the end everything was how it was meant to be.

If you are looking to read a modern day Cinderella story with a few unexpected twists, this is the book for you.

LOVED! Greatly written book that not only captured my attention, but never let it go. Plenty of things to keep you pulled in and vested into the story -from the get go you actually root for both Ava and Jax.

It seems that Ava and Jax always had a way of bumping into one another, from the initial meeting at the airport to a bar in Miami. Shocked to discover she is the maid for Jax's high society and extremely wealthy family, Ava tried to rein in her attraction to Jax and focus on her aunt and the task at hand, finding a new place to belong. Jax is desperately drawn to the beauty and charm of Ava and being tugged into the hierarchy of society and business, finds himself being forced to have a relationship with a client's daughter. Also, his mother is one who definitely does not want him slumming with the maid.

Circumstances (read and find out- it's a great book) force Ava to leave Jax, the mansion and the comfort of her aunt and be all alone in a foreign country she barely knows. Going out on a limb, Ava seeks out her father who is shocked of her existence. He is in a position that could be beneficial to Ava, will he trust her or think she only wants something from him.

Fast forward 6 years, 6 years where Ava has put a pretty awesome life together for herself and then sling her back into the mix with Jax, Miami and Jax's mother who hated her. Things have changed, and the events 6 years ago were a catalyst to that change.

What will happen when the poor former maid returns to find the prince of Prescott Associates at a gala she is attending? Will this Cinderella story be of love or rejection? I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and finding out the answers and look forward to a book for Lauren and Logan????

Ava and Jax’s romance was so refreshing. It’s a light and sweet romance with a little bit of drama thrown in. The story flowed very smoothly and quickly and the characters were fully developed. Ava moved to America to live with her aunt after her mother’s death. Her aunt is the housekeeper for a wealthy family and Ava was given the job of a maid in the household. While it is not her dream job, it is the only option she has available at this time. Jax is the privilege son of the family. He has the looks, the charm and the money to get woman he wants and he is expected to finish college and go into the family business, even if this is not what he wants. When the two met it was a match made in heaven…. for a short period of time. It was enough time for them to fall in love though until forces, in the form of Jax’s mother, tore them apart.

Fast forward to six years later…. Ava has grown into a confident, beautiful and successful woman. She is happy with her life and is ready to move on to start her own business. Jax is now a successful lawyer in his own right. Jax and Ava meet again and had to work together on a lawsuit and the old sparks and feelings that have been buried are now resurfacing. Jax now has to convince Ava that he still loves her, explain his actions six years ago and make her fall in love with him again. But can Ava forgive him and open her heart up to him again if it means getting it broken again. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely read more from this author. I received this book free as an ARC for my honest review.

This book is divided into 2 parts

Book 1 – Eva Cortes arrives in Miami from Mexico to work as a part-time house keeper for the Prescott family with her Aunty Gaby after the death of her mother. Jaxon Prescott is home for the summer before his last year of law school, he is helping at his father’s law firm for the summer. Jax has a girlfriend Olivia, who he dumps shortly after meeting Ava. Ava and Jax are drawn to each other. After a date, and a night spent together Ava is sacked from the Prescott home after Jax’s mother finds out they spent the night together and his father wanting him to have a relationship with Olivia for a business deal. Ava finds a job in a restaurant and also contacts her father who she recently found out who he is.

Book 2 – Ava has been away from Miami for the last 6 years, she arrives back for an award ceremony. On arrival at her motel Jax has sent her flowers. They meet up and have a one night stand, and Ava is devastated by her feelings. Ava’s room-mate for the last 6 years arrives in Miami and they both attend a fundraiser. Ava and Lauren are starting a boutique Advertising company and want this company as a client. Jax is the trustee of the company and publically declares his love for Ava. Ava suddenly leaves the fundraiser after the announcement. Ava and Jax have to come to terms with what has happened in the past, the lies by his mother, his father’s influences to see if a relationship is in their future.

I received this ARC for an honest review. I truly enjoyed this book.

A chance encounter in an airport begins a life time of events.
Ava is a young woman who has come to America after her mother dies and moves in with her aunt. She becomes a maid at the residence her aunt works at and begins her new reality. She has always seen herself going to college but that is not what fate has in store for her.
Jax is the only son of the family with whom Ava works. He is destined to be a corporate lawyer just as his father, however he wants to be a lawyer for non-profits.
Once Jax and Ava begin to spend time together they realize that there is chemistry however Ava is just a maid and Jax is a playboy. Together they believe they can be together. But Fate and Jax's mother have other plans.
Ava never knew her father but through Jax's help discovers who he is and where she can find him.
For 6 years Ava lives her life and Jax his until fate once agains brings them together.
Paisley developed her characters so well in this book. Every ebb and flow of emotion is felt by the reader, including a dislike for Jax's mom. It was hard to forgive her.
The basic plot is filled with twist and turns and secrets revealed. It makes you want to keep reading to see what happens next.
I look forward to her next book - perhaps Lauren and Logan.

Ava has lost her Mum, and not having a father, she has to move in with her Aunty who's a maid. Although she's grateful for the roof over her head, and a job, she's devastated that she has to give up her dream of working in advertising. Jax is spoilt by his family, living a privileged life, but he's not doing what he wants. When he returns home from College to find a new maid Ava, she becomes all he can think of. No one approves of their relationship, and even more so after Ava is assaulted and there bond grows. Sadly things don't go their way, everyone interfering, and both their lives are empty, despite how successful they've become. But can they even get back what they had when Ava's heart is so closed to love.

This was such a roller coaster ride for Ava and Jax. This is the first of Paisley's books that I've read, and some of the things didn't add up, and I thought maybe I misunderstood of things were written wrong, but that wasn't the case, near the end of the book, things come out that I never expected, it made the story even better than what I already thought. Ava and Jax's characters were endearing, Gaby so jaded, while Veronica was just down right viscous. I will be definitely be looking for more of Paisley's writing, it was heartfelt and beautifully written

The Heart Wants What it Wants!
What a beautiful love story. Jax and Ava meet the summer she comes to Miami after the death of her mother. They start off rocky due to Jax's arrogance. Before you know it the two are head over heels. But, everyone isn't happy for them. A terrible scheme leads the two to separate for six years. But, no amount of years can change what these two feel for each other. There's a huge time jump in the story and at first I was like no wtf?! But it worked perfectly. because you didn't feel like you missed anything. The story picks up six years later and everything still feels smooth and not disconnecting. Everything about their story touches you. I hated, hated, hated Ava's stubbornness though I could understand her apprehension. It's more than a love story. It's about opening yourself up to being hurt but trusting the person not to. It's about forgiveness and second chances. Their story is one that proves when someone truly has your heart it doesn't matter the time or distance. Paisley Lang did an amazing job for a debut and I look forward to more from her in the future. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Great romance. Love prevails. Jax and his friends are home for the summer as they navagate the airport the group runs into Ava, Jax is drawn to her innocent beauty while Ava is mesmerized by his ocean blue eyes. Ava has just lost her mother and is moving to America to live and work with her Aunt Gabby who is a maid for a rich American family. Gabby tells her niece the particulars of the family dynamics and some of the expectations of the job. Once Ava is settled in she she finds herself face to face with the guy from the airport and learns that he is the son of the family she and her aunt are working for. Ava knows she should not get involved with Jax but the attraction is just too much. But when an incident is blamed on Ava and she is fired she sets out to seek her father who has no idea she even exists. After 6 years Jax and Ava meet again – she now works for her father and he now works in his father's law firm. The chemistry is still there but so are even more obstacles and hurt feelings. Will these two get their happily ever after? I loved this story, couldn't put it down. Look forward to more books by Ms. Paisley Lang.

This was a good romance story about two people - Jax and Ava who meet the summer she comes to Miami after a very close death in her life. Jax comes off as super arrogant which kind of makes their relationship not so great at first but there is this flicker of heat, of chemistry. Soon Ava and Jax find they really have a lot in common and get over the hurdle of that first impression of his arrogance. But something happens that ends up causing these lovers to separate for a numbers of years and fate puts them back in each other’s lives and it’s like they didn’t miss a beat. Twists and turns abound after they meet up again , and made me frustrated a little because it seemed the pace slowed down but overall there was a reasonable HEA with this story. Ava and Jax were a good romantic couple and although there was some slight hiccups in the flow of the story, it was a believable story. It is, in my mind, a modern day fairytale remake of Cinderella. When you read this book you will understand what I mean

Very good contemporary billionaire romance. Ava came to the U.S. following the death of her mother. Her aunt got a position for her working as a maid for the same family she works for. She is only 18 but has hopes and dreams. Jax is a rich playboy that is attracted to Ava. Over time they get close. Ava has considered finding her father even though her mother and aunt disagreed. She finds she's interested in the same industry as her father. Suddenly Jax's mother accuses her of theft and she is kicked out with little money. Out of necessity she seeks out her father and her life dramatically changes. Years later she sees Jax again... Ms Lang developed the characters so that we'd understand where they came from and how they came to be the person they are now. There was much going on in the background that we didn't learn about until closer to the end but it all added to the readers enjoyment of this story. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems solely in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to reading more of Ms Lang's books in the future.

Ava comes to Miami to be a part time housekeeper for the family employing her aunt. She had such dreams for her future, but they seemed insurmountable after her mother's death. Ava's determination and spunky nature made her an incredible character. Jax seems to be nothing more than a spoiled playboy at first, but there is so much more to him as a character as well.

The sparks fly between Ava and Jax until scheming family members keep them apart for six years. Their reunion wasn't a happy one at first, but in the end, they got the happily ever after they both deserved.

I would have rated this book a little higher, but there were quite a few typos that should have been picked up in the editing process. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first novel I've read by Paisley Lang (unsure if this is the author's debut book or not). I was blown away with the story! I couldn't put it down. The plot was really interesting. The storyline flowed smoothly. Ava and Jax were developed characters and easily relatable. The twist and turns of the plot was amazing. Some I didn't even expect. To me there is a valuable lesson towards the end of the story - I won't say what it is because I don't want to give away anything. I will be adding this one to my personal Kindle library! I look forward to reading more from this author.

When reading the blurb about this book I was expecting it to be just another Cinderella story, which I like but I really wasn't expecting much more. I was pleasantly surprised to see how Ava and Jaxon's story played out. Both in the middle of the book and at the end there are little "twists" in the story, the first I saw coming and the later being a total shock, that help keep the story different from other Cinderlla type stories. Maid For You was a fun read that kept me entertained from beginning to end and can be considered a fun summer beach read. *An ARC was given for an honest review*

When Ava's mother passed away she left her home in Tijuana and went to live and work with her aunt in Miami. Her aunt Gabi was a maid for a very rich family that had a son, Jax. This is the heartbreaking story of Ava and Jax. I loved this book! My heart ached for Ava and all she endured as she faced adulthood. I don't want to say much more and give anything away, but you MUST read this book!! I'm hoping Lauren's story will be next!!

I loved Maid For You by Paisley Lang. The book flowed nicely and was well written. I could not put this book down and lost some sleep over reading it, but worth it I think. The main characters Jaxon and Ava had amazing chemistry and the intimate scenes was hot. A rich young bachelor and a young maid, made for each other! I would definitely recommend this book!

I loved this book, and the author has written a beautiful love story. The two main characters Jaxon and Ava had an instant and intense attraction. Due to family interference they separate. Will these two reconcile eventually? I strongly recommend reading this book to find out.

It was a cute story with nice twists, however, the copy-editor in me saw a few sentences that were in the wrong tense.
Other than that, though, I thought it was well and thoughtfully written.
