For the competition like UPSC, you need all the latest information regarding all the countries. The best part of this book is it creates a visual image in your mind about all the information that you can never forget. Maps are discussed in details and the information is updated.

There are many reasons you should avoid this book:

You will probably get a cheap copy from the publisher!
You will not see any colour map inside the book!
You will not see any worthy content in the book!

Better be smart while choosing the book for UPSC.

The latest edition of this book is very useful for the mains perspective as well as the PT perspective of IAS exams. However, the maps could be colour and it will instantly become useful for many more times...

Once again, I will say that K. Sidhhartha has hit the jackpot with his mature writing and explanation of the facts. This book will not only help UPSC aspirants but the students preparing for any competitive exams where General Knowledge is required, in general as well. The book focuses on maps, description of the maps and also on the region-wise geography of all the continents and a focus has been kept on Indian states as well.

The book has no pros. I will list the cons

Cons - the maps need to be published in colour edition asap! Maps are distorted and in black and white which is useless
Content of the book is rudimental. You cannot make out anything of it.

Verdict - Better get other books of general knowledge with a good atlas and you are well to go!

For UPSC aspirants, this book is like an all in one package for the GS (Geography section). It teaches the basics with the help of maps and that is a nice concept and a very effective way to serve the practical knowledge to the students. I am very much impressed with the author K. Siddhartha's approach in this book...

I really want the maps in colour print!
and this was not the last thing that you will think after purchasing this book - you will want good content, you will want the justified maps, you will want in-depth research and there is nothing in this book! Just avoid it!

The book is outdated even with the data about India... maps are just black and white drawings. Not worth all the cost that the book has!

Guys, those who are UPSC candidates must find other good books - or you can try a combination of an atlas and a good book on Indian Geography. This is a very useless book!

Content is not worth it! The book is not even having quality colour maps and it claims to educate geography through maps!

I am very disappointed with this book... and now I realise that my friend was right! One should rather go for a good general knowledge book with a colour atlas. Kitab Mahal's books are often very cheap in print and content. UPSC candidates should be aware of their stunts and buy other books. This book has very cheap maps and very poor content.

Black and white maps never feel good! The content is also not up to the mark. Never a better book for UPSC GS. Avoid this book. The publisher is selling photocopy versions of the book! Very bad.

Seems many ones like me have been deceived by the appearance and claims that the publishers and author have made! Not for USPC! This is just a compilation of Data that you can easily get online. Maps are in black and white and the book is useless if you talk about higher levels of competitive exams.

Major updates which were missing:

Introductory maps are colour and HD
Extra info added
Content updated

More updates might be essential but the book has certainly become more useful and informative as of now. I enjoyed my share of knowledge and motivation... thanks!

Very deceiving book! Not a geography book from my standards. The maps and print of the book are pretty cheap. Not coloured at all! Content is also confusing and more like GK. Avoid this book or any book from Kitab Mahal publishers! Known fakers already in the market!

Very disappointed with the book! It does not even seem a proper material for the GS - leave UPSC aside. The maps are dull and not coloured and the content of the book is also very stagnated. It does not do any justice with the claims that the author has made in the preface!

Very disappointed and angry with the publisher Kitab Mahal! they sell cheap quality books - black and white map and rubbish content! Please don't buy this book. Buy a good atlas and a good book on Indian general knowledge.

Avoidable!
Maps are utterly low quality - black and white! How can you distinguish between a rover and a desert when both are black! How can this book be useful!

The maps are blurry and not clear. The print quality is dead! Even if the author is good, the publishers are certainly very dishonest with the author!

Not worth the time I spent reading this. Print quality and map quality apart, the content of the book is just worthless. I can get the same in a good general knowledge book. Please avoid this one and buy some other good books!

Maps not colour and not clear. Content is also not very good and standard. It looks like a cheap General Knowledge book which can be good only if the data and maps are correctly put. I am not satisfied with the book after using it for a month almost
