FROM THE DESK OF JULIET BLANCHARD--I thought working in our family firm would finally make my father show some interest in me. he's always been distant toward me--possibly because I might not be his child? (I found an incriminating photo of my long-presumed-dead mother with a man I resemble.) Then I found he gave Brandon De Witte my job! I know this handsome newcomer is keeping secrets hopefully not dangerous ones. Because not only is my faith shaken right now, but someone seems to want me out of the picture, permanently.

Julia Blanchard has finished her degree in fashion design and could be off to a dream job in Paris, but she has agreed to work for her father's company as the Director of Marketing. Surprise! When she reports to work she discovers that a man she had met at one of her college fashion shows has been hired for HER job! Something seems off, for sure. She has no idea that he and his uncle are trying to sabotage the company as revenge against the Blanchard family. Juliet is very drawn to Brandon De Witte and wants to get to know him better. For some strange reason, she feels she can trust him when she finds a picture of her mother with another man. She thinks there is a possibility that the man in the picture might be her biological father.

3 ½ Stars! ~ The last thing Juliet Blanchard wanted to do was give up her budding career as a fashion designer and work for her father at Blanchard Fabrics. On the eve of her return, she meet a young man who compliments her designs and offers to introduce her to the people at a prestigious design house in Paris. But Juliet felt she owed it to her father and to her sisters to go home. Brandon De Witte is a corporate raider and he’s got his sights set on over taking Blanchard Fabrics. He and his Uncle have strong personal reasons for wanting the Company taken down, and the Blanchards made to pay. Only Brandon hadn’t counted on Juliet charming him. She trusted him with her problems and when she discovers a photo of her mother with a man other than her father, she appeals to Brandon for help. He takes her across the country to trail the man in the photo. What they discover is shocking, and Juliet’s life is endangered. Brandon’s support means the world to Juliet, but what will happen when the truth comes out about why he really came to Stoneley.

More pieces to the puzzle of Trudy Blanchard’s disappearance unfold in this third book of the series. Juliet, herself, is a vital piece to that puzzle. Again there are the two conflicts; the ongoing mystery of Trudy and the threats that are made against the sisters, as they get closer to answers; and the romantic conflict with Brandon and Juliet. Brandon struggles between his need for revenge and his desire to let go of the past. There’s a nice secondary reunion with Aunt Winnie and her former fiancé, Brandon’s Uncle. I loved the story of this one, though I found there was so much going on that the romance seemed to wane a little. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment.

ok, i THOUGHT they'd already tossed in as many "twists" in this "roller coaster", but ...

hahaha, the joke's on me!!!

i STILL don't know WHAT happened to the mother, forget whodunit, BUT ...

oh my, is this a sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat series!!!

what makes it even more unbelievable, too, that it IS this gripping, is the fact that each of the 6 books in the series is written by a different author. other times, when i've read series like that, there's been something lost in the "flow" of the books. w/ this one, tho ...

that is definitely NOT the case!!!

off to # 4, even if i have to hide in the bathroom from my family and chores to do so!!1 8^)

Juliet has just graduated college. She is going to take a job at Blanchard Fabrics as the Marketing Director, even though she could go anywhere as a designer.

Brandon De Witte meets her after one of the last shows and takes her dinner to tell her of Paris designers. They have a wonderful dinner full of easy conversation and before he leaves her in the parking lot, he kisses her.

Back at Stoneley Juliette goes in to start her new job, only she is not the Director. Brandon is.

Brandon and his Uncle Tate want to destroy the company that was stolen from Brandon's grandfather. Can love overcome hate and revenge?

Another book full of old loves, new loves and more mystery.

Would of given it a five if mistakes weren't made to connect the previous book to this one.Portia's car was burnt in an explosion with the kidnapper inside, in the previous book.In this book bug was in garage and kidnapper was in prison.

I didn't care for this one as much as the others because I don't like the theme of revenge but it was still good and another great progress towards the conclusion of the overall mystery! I have my suspicions but we will see! 3 more to go!

I didn't realize this was a book in the middle of a series. Now I must search for the rest of them, since I really would like all the answers...

I think this was the best entry in the series so far. There were some good suspenseful moments and the ending makes it so that you can't wait for the next installment.

This is one book in a series. I think you have to read the whole series to appreciate the stories. That said I enjoyed the suspense and it was well written.
