When fate decides for you...

Ellerslie Rush left it all behind. The pain, the heartbreak, the anger...

The last thing El is looking for is love, and she's especially not prepared to get caught up in her best friend's hotter than hell big brother.

Lawson Pierce doesn't give a shit about love. It's the absolute last thing on his mind. He tried it once and swore never again... so why can't he get his little sister's best friend out of his head?

She's heartbroken and stubborn. He's wounded and proud... the last thing either of them is prepared for is finding that once in a lifetime, fairy-tale love.

They both have demons in their pasts, will that be what comes back to haunt them? Or will some unforeseen force be what tries to tear them apart?

Rushed is the first book in the Love like Yours Series.

for debut novel this book was nice, i liked the characters, especially the main character Ellerslie and lawson, it was easy read, What i liked from this story, it’s like romance + thriller in genre, it was a plus value of this book. At first i hadn’t thought the story would be like that, it was interesting to take the story that way.

Ellerslie life was so beautiful, complete, and had a really nice career, surrounded by the people who really loved her. before her husband dumped her with another woman whom she called her close friend. She was like couldn’t take the life she had now, so she moved out from LA to Boston to release all the bad feelings that haunted her. One of her day to look over the place she would use to work, took her to meet someone that she didn’t expect before. The hot man with the tattoo impressed her at first sight, she didn’t know that he was her best friend’s brother. They attracted for each other until they knew their true feeling. In the middle of their happy feelings for each other, they had to deal with something terrible that made the people around them two followed by being worried, threatened their life.

***Edited, since my 1st review did not post entirely***

3.5 Stars!

Let me start by saying... How can you possibly leave a teaser for your next book "Pierced" and the baby not his?! Please God Nooooo!! That's just evil! My heart is already breaking for Lawson and I can already guess why it won't be his baby which makes me want to cry big fat crocodile tears!!

This was a really good debut novel by Nicole Goodin and I absolutely adored Lawson. He was so sweet and so protective of El that it made me swoon. He was the focal point in the story for me.

The story flowed very smoothly and there wasn't too much inner dialogue so you don't have to read whole chapters about what is going on in a character's mind without them ever saying a word out-loud (that drives me batty!). El and Law's relationship happened very quickly but I think that was the whole point since the title of the book is "Rushed". They had a very sweet relationship and the way Law was with her made my heart melt.

Now to the hard part of my review... I did not care for Quinn's POV every other chapter. I felt that it was just unnecessary filler since her POV was basically just her take on El and Law's relationship and didn't add anything else to the story.

Would I read the rest of the series? Yes. The other characters in this book really interested me and I would love to see how they all end up with their HEA's, especially with Logan, Rome, Josh and of course, Quinn. Overall, good job to a new and promising young author!

This was a debut novel. Yes, one lady who took a chance to write a book with nothing but hope that people would love it. A chance I'm glad she took because I FUCKING LOVED IT!!

Nicole goodin has take 26 letters and transformed them into something brilliant, beautiful and one of my favourite books of 2016. I fell in love with her characters, every single one of them. I've never read a book with three character points of view before, honestly I didn't think I'd be able to get into it but i actually really enjoyed it. I'm so glad I got to see into the minds of 3 of the characters i started to love.

Ellerslie has just gotten out of a shitty marriage, one where she found out her husband was a cheating scumbag. (Arsehole) after moving from LA for a new start with her best friend Quinn the last thing she's looking for is love, the last thing she expected was to bump into a brooding alpha asshole that happens to be her best friends brother.

Lawson, after being fucked around in the past and not trusting women to do anything but warm his bed he didn't expect to find more. Didn't ever think he'd let anyone back in, until he met his little sisters firecracker of a best friend. OH HOW THE SPARKS WILL FLY!! He's an alpha asshole but there's moments where his guard comes down and you see right inside him, he's a truly beautiful man.

I LOVED these characters together, the chemistry between them is intense. They're amazing together, I adore everything about them. The pace their relationship went at was fast, but everything fit so well together. Obviously it doesn't always run smooth, can they overcome the obstacles they run into? Will they get their happy ever after? Well read it and find out.

I loved the secondary characters just as much as the main. Yes I'm sitting here hoping for a Q and Colt story, maybe even a whole series so the rest of these amazing characters can share their story with me. No pressure though ;)

Honestly this book was so much more than I expected it to be, it's a debut novel but it's up there in the ranks with some of the best. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for more by this author, I'm honoured i got the chance to beta read a few chapters and I'm absolutely over the moon I took a chance on reading this book. I can't wait for the rest of Ell and Lawsons story.

This is the first book I've read from Nicole Goodin and I really liked it!

I absolutely loved the characters she created! El and Lawson are such a great couple! I love that she speaks her mind but stills humors Lawson even when he's being too protective! This was the first book where I got to see a secondary character have their own POV. I really liked that aspect of the book. All in all, this was a great read!

Wow. This book is amazing. I didn't want to stop reading. It was intense and really good. I'm super happy things turned out the way they did. There were a few times I laughed or shook my head at what someone said or did at the end. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I could've enjoyed this much more if it wasn't for a few things that just drove me crazy. 1st- the main characters did not act their age. They were supposed to be late twenties to early thirties but came across as early twenties. Theses were CEO's/owners of their own businesses but the way they talked and behaved I don't know how that happened. Ok, 2nd- the author needs to do more research about American talk/slang. It is not the same as England/Australia/New Zealand or wherever the author is from. Why place the setting in America? Does that sell better? And finally 3rd- the first half of the story seemed to drag and be repetitive. I was forcing myself to push on. I didn't like the chapters from the female best friend either. It seemed like a ploy to get to know her better for future books. This was 500 pages that really could have been shortened.

Okay time for my review of this book. I really enjoyed this. The author, Nicole Goodin did a fantastic job with this novel. She did a superb job of bringing the characters to life and she introduced some other alpha male characters which you get the impression will eventually have their own stories ( I hope - really hope she writes novels for Rome and Logan). I loved the dynamic between the main characters Lawson and Ellerslie and Ellerslies kick arse sidekick, Quinn. Though the main characters fall deeply in love quite fast, Goodin takes her time to develop their story. Its a forever kind of love that is believable. This book was sexy and sweet. Can't wait for book 2. I give this book

I'm kinda in love with Lawson

I'm really sad to say it because I love the story line and the characters, but this book has so much potential to be better. I loved the idea and the suspense, it was unique and fascinating. But the whole thing felt very forced and rushed. The characters needed more development and some parts were lacking a lot of emotion.

There were parts of the story that was all over the place and vague. And while there is a lot of work needed on this book, it still had its upsides. The sex scenes were hot, some parts were very detailed and the characters were amazing at times.

omg I loved this story. Ellerslie has had just about all she can from her soon to be ex husband a new start is what she needs, she convinces her father and BFF that moving to Boston would be perfect, she just never realized how good til she meets Lawson, he makes her feel things she never felt before but is she ready to give her heart again? Lawson hasn't been one for commitment since he got burned but Ellerslie is doing things and making him feel things he's never felt before, can he trust his heart and hers. Great story with great characters. loved it.

This was a very interesting story. The characters were sweet and amazing. Their love was wonderfully written. Their was truthful suspense and so much interesting things going on. I really enjoyed the way this was written and how everything was put together. This author is a new one for me but I enjoyed her work and would love to read more.

Good but...

So- maybe I’m an old fart but I felt like these 30 year olds were acting like 20 yr olds. Then, you have characters set in America with no connection to England or Australia or New Zeland and they are using that slang.... so it was a good book and a nice read but those little things really did kill it for me.

I've read this whole series out of order! It's a good thing each one stands on its own :)

Rushed is the first in the Love Like Yours series, and it was really quite nice to see how Ellerslie and Lawson actually ended up together after reading about their amazing love connection in the other books that follow.

In this book we see how strong, yet vulnerable Ellerslie is, and how much she grows when Lawson comes into her life. She's been hurt and her self esteem is low. A fresh start in a new city is what's needed to help her pull through.
A chance encounter with the sexy yet aggravating man in the elevator has her hackles up, and finding some of her spark back, she quickly puts him in his place.
Lawson, who happens to be Quinn's brother, is a business man who is determined to get what he wants. Once he sets his sights on something, he works until he achieves it, and this time, it happens to be the heart of Ellerslie. But is she still too broken from her past?

I adored this book. This whole series in fact. A fantastic group of characters that you can't help but love - especially Quinn and her sharp wit and no nonsense attitude! I can't wait for the next ones to release!

It is not recommendable to read on the beach when it might be necessary to look out occasionally for your children, because you have to pay close attention to the varying POVs otherwise it is confusing. There are not only those of the MCs' but also her best friend.

I don't know why the author, clearly not American, placed the setting in the US. She doesn't mention any cities, rivers etc. so it feels very vague.

Why do very successful people around 30 behave like 20 year old college students?

Is it allowed to have a building with apartments accessible only by elevator only operable by keycard coded for the appropriate floor? What about emergencies? Fire? Or pizza delivery? How would they buzz in the delivery boy?

The book needs a good editor who shortens the inner monologues, corrects the typos, and adjusts the setting.

Lawson & Ellersie

“Rushed” is a heartfelt story about second chances and the belief that everything meant for you will eventually find its way. At its core, the book explores how heartbreak and change can sometimes be necessary for us to find our true purpose.

Lawson is absolutely irresistible — a big, lovable teddy bear, and I can’t help but adore his charm. Ellersie is equally amazing, a fierce and strong woman who complements him perfectly. Together, they make an unforgettable couple!

The dynamics throughout the book are fantastic, and I really enjoyed watching the friend group grow and develop. I’m excited to continue following their stories and see where the journey takes them.

Overall, I gave this book 4/5 stars!

I am almost positive the rest of the world will probably give this book a 5 because, in all honesty, it was a 5. I am just not that lovey dovey. At first, I was all heck yea this book has an insane attraction and I thought I would burst, but half a book is a little much of gooey eyes and long staring moments. I am sure it is just me, so like I said I am sure everyone else will give it a 5. I really liked all the characters except for Colt, but I am not sure he is sticking around anyway. I laughed so many times in this book and it was super intense. Good read! I recommend.

Nice tale

Nice story and I'm looking forward to the next tale in the trilogy. I thought the characters were well defined. The only problem is the characters, except for Lisa, are Americans but the author uses British words and slang! This is especially distracting coming from Q and Lawson who are supposed to be from Texas. There is one "y'all". I'm a Texas gal, where are all the "yes ma'am"s, "darlin"s, and especially the "y'all"s? Please get someone to proof your American and Texas words!

El and Lawson have sparks fly at their first meeting. She has escaped her cheating ex and is building the family business in a new city with her best friend. Imagine their surprise when the arrogant guy she met turns out to be her best friends brother.

I have read several books by this author and was excited to jump into another one of her series. She gave us fun, angst, steamy. I was totally in love with this group and can't wait for more. The author does a great job of pulling me in so I get totally lost in the story.

Awesome read

This book had me laughing, crying and sometimes in suspense. I had a hard time putting it down. It was truly and enjoyable read. The characters were charming, lovable, weak at times and strong at times. I liked the mixture. Looking forward to reading other books related to these couples and characters.

Loved this book.

Funny story.

I went to my local library to order in the next 3 books in this series. The librarian said, did you know the author comes from this town? I said no way!! What a small world.
I came home and told my husband, he looked at the book and said, oh yeah that's Nicole. My husband works for her parents!!! How small is this world.

Language: R (354+ swears, 42+ "f"); Mature Content: R (innuendo and sex); Violence: PG
I am not a fan of the way that the main guy thinks about his love interest, and the language and sexual content got to an insane level only a third of the way through the book. Putting up with that for any longer would not be enjoyable, so I stopped.

I can't, I just can't. So much squealing and acting like 16 year olds while they're 30 something women holding CEO postions. Also, what is up with detailed descriptions of what they're doing, eating, what clothes are they wearing every minute of the day....
For the sake of my mental health, I'm DNFing this one at 30%.
