About the author

Austin Teutsch grew up just down the road from George Strait in Jourdanton, Texas where he graduated from Jourdanton High School in 1973.
He promptly entered the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He has been playing country music since he was 14 years old,slipping in the back doors of some of the roughest honky-tonks and roadhouses in Texasto chase a dream of his own. (Ever play the Red Dog Lounge in Freer, Texas?) He came back to Texas in 1980 and married in 1981. Over the next 25 years, Mr. Teutsch had two wonderful sons, Taylor 19 and Parker 14, two best selling biographies on the lives of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and former Texas Congresswoman Barbara Jordan and many articles in publications around the country.
He has worked on the biographies of Dick York of "Bewitched" fame and Jimmy Nicol, a drummer who actually played as a Beatle when Ringo Starr was in the hospital in 1964.
Austin Teutsch has lived in Austin, Texas for 27 years and is, unfortunately, single.
