Oswald Jeffrey Smith was a Canadian pastor, author, and missions advocate. He founded The People's Church in Toronto in 1928. He was a leading force in Fundamentalism in Canada.
This was first published in 1932 and this edition was only produced in 2015. It may come from a very traditional evangelical approach - some very relevant and interesting points made by the author. Well worth a read
Dropping the book in favour of other more focused books for now, but I thank God for the impressions left upon me from the short few chapters that I did read that provide lots of food for thought. The author is plain and straightforward. He does not try to sugarcoat the demands of discipleship, and asks the reader questions that cut to the reality of his or her life and soul. I take away from it a challenge towards a more wholehearted and unabashed faith and lifestyle.
Man God uses? There are people who have been saved for ten years yet doesn't look like Christ and there are people who have been saved for just ten days yet are more like Christ. It's doesn't matter how long you been saved, only those who spend much time in His presence will become more like Him. Only those who give Him undivided attention will really come to know Him. A must read book for every Christian, he highlighted 8 qualities that will enable God use men.
If you complete this great “John the Baptist” revivalist epistle, and still not moved to propagate the Kingdom of God, then you are one of the many problems of the current church.
