When she accidentally runs into the back of a gorgeous stranger’s truck at a stoplight, the last thing on Kassie’s mind is indulging in her deepest, hottest fantasies with him. Until the same stranger ends up on her doorstep, she accidentally falls on top of him, and one kiss leads to another.

But she’s helpless to resist the powerful desire he makes her feel, and before long, she’s letting him have his wicked way with her all over town.
Jace knows that falling for a woman like Kassie’s a bad idea. He’s had enough heartbreak in his past to see the signs. He can tell she’s ready to run, but when she’s in his arms, he’ll do everything he can to make her stay.
USA TODAY bestselling author Scarlett Scott writes steamy Victorian and Regency historical romances with strong, intelligent heroines and sexy alpha heroes. She lives in Pennsylvania and Maryland with her Canadian husband, their adorable identical twins, a demanding diva dog, and one zany cat.
I read Loved Up because it sounded like a cute story, which is was. And I liked the meeting by serendipity aspect. The more awkward and cringe worthy the first meeting, the better. And what better way to start off a client/contractor business relationship than to have the client rear-end the contractor and not knowing he’s the contractor she hired. Kassie and Jax were both sweet, likable characters. I like that we got to know Jax’s family. Loved Up is book one in the Coastal Heat series and I hope that the series follows Jax’s brothers because I enjoyed reading about all of them. The only problem I had with this book was the insta-love romance. Three weeks after meeting and they’re in love. I find that questionable, particularly on Kassie’s part, because she's fresh out of an engagement. Though their relationship did slow down quite a bit after that. Loved Up was a cute, sweet story but I’m not a big fan of insta-love romance.
The overall storyline and themes employed by Loved Up are ones I've seen a hundred times, but in the talented hands of Ms. Scott they become immensely enjoyable and put a smile on my face that's still there when I think of this book. It's like comfort food in that I know what to expect but seeing Kassie and Jax's journey to HEA unfold is heartwarming and realistic in the banter between them and their inner thoughts and feelings. As the first book in the Coastal Heat series it shows great promise for future installments and I'm left waiting impatiently for the next Taylor brother to fall in love.
Kassie thought she knew what she wanted out of life. Being in the hustle and bustle of New York with a high pressure and high paying job, along with a respectable and successful fiancée, seemed like a dream come true until she realized how unhappy she was and how dull her life had become. She literally ran away from it all and started over in a small town that oozes family friendly. Life for her is now carefree and full of possibilities. She's unleashing a wild side that she thought had been buried courtesy of sexy contractor Jax whose fiery first encounter with her sets the pace for their crackling and unexpectedly overwhelming relationship. Her heart is still reeling from her ex and the self-doubts he left her with, so the emotional intensity Jax causes her leaves her questioning everything between them. Her inner conflicts are expressed often so it's easy to know what she's thinking and feeling which made for a better story.
Jax is also still smarting from an ex that wanted him only for his money. She too came from the big city so it's hard not to compare her to Kassie. He tries to ignore these thoughts though as Kassie makes him feel things he never felt before. Their connection is electric and it's hard to keep his hands off her and not move their relationship forward at a break-neck pace. He knows what he wants and it's his brothers creating conflict as they have him doubting what he feels and reminding him of his ex. To reach their HEA will they finally put their pasts to rest or will they let self-doubts ruin their futures. It's a rocky road at times that left me aching for them but ultimately I was left with warm fuzzies and a crush on Jax.
Jax is sexy, charming, and full of aw-shucks mannerisms. He knows just what to say to win a girl over and I found myself won over just as much as Kassie. Kassie is immensely likable and just starting to get her confidence back. Jax sometimes overwhelms her but she can't help being drawn to him. Their relationship is fast-paced but feels believable as their banter is witty and surprisingly insightful as to their true feelings. The sexual interludes are scorching and frequent and showed their playful sides amidst their intense emotional connection. Along with an engaging main couple comes a delightful and equally entertaining set of brothers. Jax's brothers are tantalizing with unique personalities that I long to see more of. Their interactions are boisterous and believable in their tendency to joke with one another. The closeness of family oozed off the pages and enhanced the heartwarming feeling that started on the first page. From start to finish I found this a wonderful read with engaging characters, steamy sexual encounters, and crackling dialogue. Though their inner conflicts and self-doubts dictated their relationship for too long I still found myself fully immersed in their outcome. The glimpses of Jax's brothers also has me excited for the future and I highly recommend this to those wanting drool-worthy heroes!
Sometimes I start reading a book and immediately know I’m going to like it. That doesn’t happen as often as I’d like, but in the case of this book, it did. Some authors just have a certain style of writing that ropes me in and makes me care. It doesn’t even necessarily have to do with the storyline or the characters – although I liked both in this one. There’s just a certain “it factor” that makes a book a hit rather than a miss with me, and this one was definitely a hit.
This novel had a lot of up and down moments for me. One moment, I was completely sure I wouldn't keep reading it; but then in the next second, something would grab my attention enough to pull me back in.
The overall story line was impeccable, I just could not stay hooked 100%. Definitely worth the read; however, because in the right hands this novel could be amazing.
This book is easy to read but impossible to put down! It is the first one I have read by MS Scott that is set in modern times, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review and I loved this book! 5 Stars!!!!***** Kassie has just moved to a small town from New York City after breaking up with her fiance. She is a copy editor for a publishing house (MY DREAM JOB LOL)! She meets Jax after hitting his truck at a red light as she was mooning over what she could see of him in his side mirror. Come to find out he is her new contractor. And wow do they have chemistry and sparks fly! This is fun, sexy ,romantic read, and here's hoping Jax's brothers will have their stories told also! http://harpsromancebookreview.com
