★★★★1/2! Everything Stolen (stand-alone). Romantic suspense about Sylvie torn between two men, past & present, truths & lies!

“In the blackness of the bedroom I share with Silas, I push away the memories of Jeremy, of our intimacy, and of how much I loved him.”

Everything Stolen (stand-alone) is a romantic suspense. Four years after her fiancé, heir and CEO of Bradford Enterprises Jeremiah Bradford, Jeremy disappeared without a trace leaving a heartbroken and pregnant Sylvie Chambers, he returns.

But much has happened since he vanished. Attorney Silas Chambers was there for Sylvie in the aftermath and has since married her and made a good and safe home for her and her son.

Faced with uncovering what happened Sylvie finds herself torn between two men who loves her; her present and her past; hidden truths and guarded lies. It’s a story of greed, secrets, mistakes, betrayal, deceit and the ultimate sacrifice.

Seven words to describe Sylvie Chambers: Conflicted, meek, stubborn, misguided, naïve, self-centered and helpless.

Seven words to describe Jeremiah Bradford, Jeremy: Determined, thoughtful, conflicted, caring, chivalrous, forgiving and respectful.

Seven words to describe Silas Chambers: Controlling, nurturing, protective, smart, private, selfish and determined.

Everything Stolen, told from multiple POVs, is the unfolding of a mystery and the sweet agony of a love triangle. It was painful at times to read about time, love and hope stolen and intimate scenes of a woman torn. But one hero’s unyielding search for the truth kept me going all the way to the perfect end.

Bittersweet! Thought-provoking! Poignant! Conflicting! Hopeful!

“Standing at the front door of the house she shared with another man, I wish I were torn. I wish I could feel guilty, but all I feel is determination.”

Okay, now I know what everyone going to say here, but it was such an awesome book and their love for each other was EPIC!
But this was so NOT THIS BOOK.
I will take my time here as I am very very VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BOOK.

***SPOILERS AHEAD, DON'T READ AND BLAME ME FOR SPOILING THIS BOOK FOR YOU!***

This book has enough 4 and 5 stars reviews that go on and on about how "awesome" it is...
Sadly, this is not going to be one of those.
There is almost nothing I loved about the content of this book!
Only maybe the hero Jeremy, but at the end he killed that love affair, DEAD. And of course the writing which was top notch!

1- First problem you have is the heroine. Now, I was thinking; "poor girl she was devastated by the hero's death so she will be so happy to see him." NOPE! SHE IS ALL; I AM MARRIED AND YOU LEFT ME.
HELLO? BITCH HE WAS IN A F*CKING COMA?
Now a regular person would have just said; "Okay, here, maybe this book is not for me."
Not me, nooooo, I had to keep torturing myself with her bullsh*t saying crap like "Jeremy never had to work for me..."
WTF! Here slut, he comes out of the coma and his first thought is to get to you-- and she just goes off to f*ck her awesome "loyal" husband.
She is the stupidest person ever. She has proof that her husband Silas knew about the hospital set up and she hides it from the hero, who is desperately trying to piece his life back together and find out what happened to him.
I could go on and on about just how dim she is, but why waste time, its obvious!

2- I call bullsh*t on her "epic love" as she moves on and marries another and has epic hot sex with him throughout the whole book! Yes, it's just them f*cking for the whole book until the end!!! Where is the epic love here? He comes back and is all good, lets talk about maybe you seeing your son sometime in the future? Btw, I am letting our son call my husband, Silas, Daddy (the guy who stabbed you in the back and I know it)... Is that okay with you?
Wellp, it better 'cause you left me!!!
Omg, let's kill it now before it reproduces again please!!!!

3- The whole circumstances of their meeting was suspect here. I mean Silas (her lying, asshole husband, who she is protecting) and the Heroine Sylvie. Come on, he was going to buy her off or help the hero's parents take her child away from her!
DONE!
She must be a special kind of stupid!

FYI; even after she know he set up the hospital money, she still has awesome sex with him, while I was left wanting to take an hour shower.
Clean! Clean! Must get clean!!!
But NO amount of washing will take away the stink from this couple!
Just gross!

description

Okay, but the "best" part was after, Silas, her bastard husband dies.
Not before she discovers what a lying cheating bastard that he really is.
She finally figured out that Silas left the father of her child/love of her life to die on the side of the road! He was a disgusting human being here, that she kept f*cking and forgiving.
She even told him that she would wait for him and they could work things out even after knowing his part in her lovers disappearance.

WHAT THE F*CK? You suck!

description

And when he is finally dead what does she do?
She still pushes the hero away for a whole year!!!

A WHOLE F*CKING YEAR HERE!

Epic love here guys, you be the judge. Remember that he has been in a coma for 4 years already.

SERIOUSLY, Where is the alpha!?

I can't find him here!
I know, I must have blinked and missed it.

He is constantly getting his nuts handed to him by Sylvie. Therefore, he accepts her decision (cause it's only her in this relationship, no son here to consider) and moves on. What?

Right, so I got most of this book off my chest (I could still rant for at least two more pages) but I have wasted enough of my day on this book here.

Also, I know loads of people are going to be pissed at me here but you know what?
THIS IS MY SPACE!

I can say what I feel about this book... However, I will never again read another triangle/second chance at love bullsh*t story.

Safety: Sure lets go with no cheating faithful bullshit 'cause I love to laugh. And I don't have to say OM drama it's what this whole book is about. The OM is more in the story than the Hero. Safe sex... well she had an IUD.

W-O-W-Z-A...was this book good.

Sylvie and Jeremy are madly in love. Unfortunately one day that all ends when Jeremy disappears from her life leaving her scared, alone and pregnant. Enter Silas Chambers the Bradford family lawyer. He helps Sylvie raise her son and helps her move on. That is until one day 4 years later when Jeremy awakes from a coma asking for Sylvie.

“Love is patient and kind, Love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
description

I enjoyed this one immensely. I was choked full of "FEELS" with fabulous writing and well developed characters. Jeremy was just a loyal and amazing hero. Even when I felt he should tell certain people to go stick it and move on, he stayed the course. Sylvie I waffled back and forth about, and she is the reason this is a 4 star read instead of a 5 star one. Her actions (especially near the end) frustrated me, and seemed contradictory to what she had been feeling throughout the book. I'll be honest, I wanted to smack her at certain points. The star though, at least for me, was Silas. I loved Silas, I hated Silas, he was such a complex and well written character. Of all the characters I felt he was the most developed.

description

In summary, this was a top notch read. Full of twists and turns. An original and well paced plot. Complete with a sweet little epilogue to wrap things up nicely. Two thumbs up on this one from yours truly.

5 Who to choose stars!!!

First off,
 photo Huge-Academy-Award-Worthy-Clapping-MRW-Gif_zpskszdojpj.gif

Sophia Scarlet has written an amazing story full of suspense, love and angst as Sylvie struggles with trust to figure out the mystery disappearance of her true love Jeremy. I fell hard into this one and as it played out I was just as lost as Sylvie.

This book really through me for a loop. On the cover in small print it says romantic thriller, by no means in my understanding is this a thriller. I do not really care what genre a book is as long as it is good and this one was GOOD!!

I love a book that gets my brain involved, this book had me thinking the whole way through. It had me questioning myself and my morals. Would I have forgiven? This was the biggest question for me and all I could come up with was probably not.

I am not a gushy romantic but boy the things said at the end of this one had the tears falling.

What I did not like about this book?

Jeremy Bradford woke up from a four years coma with a harsh realization that the woman he loved now belong to someone else. No one knew what happened when he went missing. Even his family's wealth and resources couldn't help him then. Now he was determined to find out what happened and get back his old life.

Sylvie Solum never wavered in her dedication to find Jeremy. But after such heartbreak, she needed emotional and physical support especially that she was carrying his child. Silas Chambers was there to be her rock. But with Jeremy back in her life, it threatened to mar the once picture perfect family.

The mystery element in the blurb definitely caught my attention. Then I started seeing people saying it bring out all kinds of emotion, I just couldn't resist it.

I don’t know how to wash away the smell of her, the feel of her in my hands. I don’t know that I would even if I could. Those memories are all I have left.

Considering Jeremy's situation, it was very easy to feel sorry and fall for him. And despite losing four years of his life, he was rational, patient and understanding.

Sylvie was warring with her heart. She had to choose between her past and her present and what's best for her future. I wish I know more about her though because she seemed a little one dimensional.

“Part of me knew that you’d destroy me one day. But I couldn’t stop it. I couldn’t fight it. And now I almost wish you’d put me out of my misery.”

Out of all the characters, I think Silas was the one with the most difficult position. Therefore I have a soft spot for him. I also believe his character had the most balance and well developed. I feel like I know everything there is about him.

“Having you like this is torture,” he rasps. “But losing you would be utter obliteration.”

I really like the mystery/suspense elements even though I did find it too easy to figure it out. Some of the characters were hard to love. However I do understand their motivations no matter how despicable their actions might be.

Everything Stolen is a story of people whose life thrown into disarray when the past came back to haunt. It's a sexy, suspenseful and engaging read.

Jeremy Bradford had it all – good looks, challenging career, wealth and a soon-to-be fiancé until one night he suddenly disappears. Believed to be dead, Jeremy fools them all by waking from a four-year coma. Quickly realizing his predicament, he automatically asks for his girlfriend, Sylvie, and is ready to resume his life; however, getting it all back won’t be as simple as he anticipates.

“I had a career, a future, and a woman who loved me. If I want any of that back, I’m going to have to fight for it.”

Sylvie Chambers is a doting mother and devoted wife of to Silas Chambers. On the outside her life appears to be picturesque but Sylvie never recovered from the loss of Jeremy. Near the anniversary of Jeremy’s death, Sylvie’s life changes when she discovers Jeremy is alive.

“I didn’t want him to see my crying over another man. He’d understand, but I never want him to know how deeply rooted those feelings remain.”

From this point, the suspense begins because while many are so relieved Jeremy is alive and well, others are fearful that a secret will be uncovered if Jeremy digs too deep. A series of layered lies emerge while Jeremy is trying to regain his memory of what occurred just before the accident. Once he remembers those precious few hours, his questions will be answered but there is a force at play trying to quell his investigation.

“I’m marshaling my own resources. There is nothing you can offer me that I can’t get on my own.”

Adding to the tension of Jeremy’s disappearance is his recovery and how he acclimates to his new life. Upon seeing Sylvie again, he learns that he fathered a son. Determined to reclaim Sylvie and form a family, Jeremy is ready to fight for what he believes is his right, but he doesn’t expect the resistance and deceit from the one person he thought he could trust.

Everything Stolen is a layered plot that delves into the vulnerabilities of the characters. The concept of losing four years of one’s life then discovering how your loved ones have moved on is heartbreaking. Complicating the situation is Sylvie’s reactions to Jeremy and to her husband, Silas. While for some the choice may be obvious from the beginning and others may waver as more facts are revealed, loyalties become blurred and emotions run heavy with Sylvie trying to make the best choice for her and Levi.

The pacing of this romance suspense is steady with alternating POVs between Sylvie and Jeremy that underscore the passion in their past and their questionable future. Needless to say, all these characters and their decisions elicited extreme reactions from me. While I comprehended the motivations of certain characters, I just could not ultimately forgive them. The biggest hurdle to overcome was Sylvie due to a number of reasons when my heart and mind finally reached its limit. Perhaps, more development with her past would have helped resolve some but not the other factors.

Overall, the plot felt unique and it provokes the reader to feel a multitude of emotions ranging from love, hate, resentment, envy, greed, loneliness, loyalty and commitment. For those who enjoy books with feels, this one will meet your criteria!

Slyvie and Jeremy had the kind of love that would make anyone jealous. They were passionate, caring, and they always put their relationship first. Content on spending the rest of their lives together, everything was coming along beautifully. Until one day Jeremey goes missing.

Vanished without a trace, Sylvie dedicated her time and what little resources she had in finding him. With no luck and having to defend herself against Jeremy's parents because she's pregnant, Slyvie has reached her breaking point forcing her give up on Jeremy.

"You're my home Sylvie. Anywhere you are is where I want to be".

Silas Chamberes is what you call a pitbull in a suit when it comes to his job. He loves what he does and he's worked very had to become a successful Attorney. When one of his longtime and very rich clients asks him to take care of a family issue, he quickly obliges. But what he wasn't planning on was being completely infatuated with Sylvie Sutton. Now four years later, he's the happiest he's ever been with her as his wife and raising a child together.

But can they really stay happy once they learn what happened to Jeremy?

Jeremy Bradford found the love of his life four years ago. Coming from a wealthy family, he had everything he could ever want financially and being the CEO of the family's company, all that was missing was someone to share it with. Finding that person in Sylvie, life couldn't possibly get any better. All it took was one moment to change everything and waking up in a hospital bed learning you've been in a coma for last four years, became a complete shock.

What happened to him, what did he miss over the last few years, and how soon can he see Sylvie were the first things that came to his mind. But the life he left behind is no longer there and it's going to take a while for him to get back to his usual self including physically and mentally. When he finally sees Sylvie for the first time, all those feelings come rushing back and knowing that they could never be how they once were slowly breaks his heart.

 photo rfJO72E_zps5or7gerf.png

"Sometimes I wish I hadn't fallen in love with you, Sylvie", "Part of me knew you'd destroy me one day. But I couldn't stop it. I couldn't fight it. And now I almost wish you'd put me out of my misery".

I have to admit that I was really nervous about reading one because the minute I saw two male leads, my anxiety level went thrrough the roof. So if you don't like cheating in your books, don't worry. This doesn't have ANY cheating whatsoever and I breathed a huge sigh of relief when it came to that.

As much as these characters were complicated, I loved them. (Well most of them). Did I agree with certain situations? No. I HATED the past and present scenes because it made it extremely difficult for me to connect with one of the characters when it was in a very detailed setting. I also kind of wished a certain plot was different because it made me mad and I really wasn't expecting that but now thinking about it, it made the story.

Aside from that, this was a fast paced enjoyabe story that had me guessing and trying to figure out what really happened. If you love a good second chance romance, then this one is for you.

3.5 - 4 Stolen ★★★★ Stars

Genre: Romantic/Erotic Suspense
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person – Dual

description

Sylvie Solum; grew up in the foster system. At age of twenty-four she meets Jeremiah Bradford aka Jeremy; a very wealthy and powerful man. She was trying to land the job of her dreams as an editor. Her life changes completely when they meet. Jeremy purposely asked to meet in person.

They completely clicked and fell madly in love until tragedy strikes. Four years later Jeremy wakes up to a nightmare; he finds out he had been in a coma that entire time and the love of his life has moved on. Sylvie was devastated when Jeremy disappeared; especially because she didn't know that she was pregnant with his son or what exactly happened to him. All the time she thought he just left her.

description

Silas Chambers; an attorney for Jeremy's family meets Sylvie and he found himself at first feeling sorry for her; she was lost and hurting but then realized how much she needed someone and he ended up being her shield and protector. They got married; life for Silas was great until Jeremy wakes up. He found himself insecure then because somehow he knew that whatever he and Sylvie had was nothing compared to what she had with Jeremy and that scared him. He tried to keep her away from him and for Sylvie to let him do so really drove me wild because whether she wanted or not Jeremy was the father of her son and he was entitle to be able to explained himself.

"Time slows again as we look into each other's eyes. I don't want to look away. I don't want to leave her. She breaks eye contact first…disappearing behind a carved glass door."

A lot of secrets come out and feelings get hurt. The anxiety I had trying to figure out what exactly happened and who could be so cruel to let Jeremy go through all that had me on auto angst. However; as I reached the secret and what happened I was angry and so upset. I think I might have had an ulcer after I finished this book. I think one of the major reasons why I felt like this was that I couldn't even after I tried so hard; I just couldn't connect with the heroine the way I wanted to she really got on my nerves. I usually don't mind a broken heroine and a hero to save her but she wasn't broken she was just not strong and independent and letting Silas control her life upset me so much. I never felt connected to Silas either something about him just felt wrong.

"We can never be what we were, but in this moment, we're as intimate as two people can be. Our grip is a silent vow. We cling to each other, fueled by our common rage. Determined. Bound. Together."

Time passed a lot of time before Sylvie let's Jeremy finally in and the entire time I'm cursing her because the poor guy had already been basically dead in comma for no good reason at all and for her to do that to him was just what made me disliked her character. I honestly feel that Jeremy got cheated on love; I mean eventually they found each other back again but it hurt to me it truly hurt all the damaged done it was just so painful to watch. How much he loved her and waited until she was able to deal with it all, that was really true love.

"I know that everything has changed. She no longer pulls away when I touch her. When I take her hand, she twines her fingers through mine. She hold my gaze when I brush her hair away from her face. The shift has already happened. I just have to find the right moment and we'll be us again."

Overall I enjoyed this story because it kept me hooked once I started. I found it hard to put it down even when it made me upset and angry haha. I don't particularly think is an ugly cry book like I wanted and that might be why I was a frustrated so much; I had high hopes of crying but instead I found out getting an ulcer haha. I felt so much for Jeremy thought he was the one that saved this book for me. I loved him so hard and the way he fought and never gave up made up for everything. If you like a romantic suspense you will enjoy this book.

Before I even start my review let me just say THERE IS NO CHEATING.

Amnesia, second chance and a secret child = total catnip. Add to this a really well thought out plot with twists and turns that kept me guessing and I got a great little read.

I loved Jeremy so hard, his love for Sylvie never wavered. I don't think I could have been so patient with her, in fact she got on my wick with her constant pushing away even though what happened was out of their control. She needed a rocket up the arse to wake the hell up and see what was right in front of her and this is where the book lost a star, I don't like reading about indecisive females who hurt the hero the way Sylvie did to Jeremy.

Everything Stolen is now LIVE.

Thank you for reading Everything Stolen. I wrote this novel while everyone in my family had the flu. The words poured out, and twenty-eight days later, I had a draft that I loved. My revisions were squeezed in over the course of a horrendous six-part move from my home, which I loved, to the instability of rentals and storage units, which are perfectly sufficient until we can find someplace to call home again. My writing keeps me sane and I hope that it enriches your life too.
In this story, I wanted to explore loss and love in all of their beautiful and enduring complexities. I love each of my characters and I have offered you their stories with as much honesty and compassion as I could summon. If you crave a story rich with nuance, lush with sensory details, and challenging in its emotional landscape, this story was written for you. I hope you enjoyed it.
All of my stories start with a simple outline and a very small group of very indulgent people who listen to them and share their initial impressions. I am deeply indebted to the friends and family who support me and my stories as they grow from tiny seeds to full blown novels. Most importantly, I am so grateful for the love, inspiration, and relentless support of my husband Phillip. Everything in my life is more beautiful for having lived it with you. You are my everything and I am forever yours.

“But it wouldn’t be right to be with someone else when all I’ll ever want is her.”

Everything Stolen is about a man who woke from years long coma thinking that the accident happened only yesterday only to find out that everything have been stolen from him – his fiancé and his future with her, the years that they should have been together. Or it could be about a woman whose life spiraled into chaos because her fiancé just didn’t show up one day, tried to be strong and moved on only to find out that she was never abandoned yet everything seems too late because she is already married to someone else.

Or it could be a lot of possibilities depending on who the character we are talking about. The story’s subject is actually a bit very sensitive and that anything could happen, too many factors are at play, and there’s the element of suspense and mystery and what really happened on that faithful day when Jeremy was supposed to meet Sylvie but didn’t show up and how he ended up being in a coma in a hospital with no one knowing where he have been all those years.

In that moment, I feel so much hate and so much love that I can’t tell where one ends and the other begins.

Jeremy grew up rich and being that comes the privilege of having money. With his thoughts and ideals and all-consuming love for Sylvie, I thought he was the perfect guy. But he’s character needed some growing and it’s what made him likeable.

Sylvie is a complex character. She dreams of having a family that she can call her own and someone that would offer her stability. I like her character a lot because it shows perfectly human traits being vulnerable with insecurities but not broken, and susceptible to make wrong decisions and able to feel emotions. But most of all, she was loyal, has that inner strength and she stand by her words.

Silas is Sylvie’s husband. Old stallion, that guy. I actually love him amongst all the characters, more so than both Sylvie and Jeremy combined. He has flaws and all that wrong decisions and selfish acts he did, but it was the reasons that made him so endearing to me.

“When I was pregnant and alone, I was so desperate for a perfect family. I wanted that for Levi.”

Some may actually have a cause for concern with cheating, what with Sylvie and Jeremy having strong feelings for each other even considering the time has passed and Sylvie being married to Silas. I think it’s a matter of perspective on that aspect on what you considered cheating. Is it having feelings for someone else and that someone else reciprocating your feelings or does it need to have a physical contact to be considered that?

The mystery of what happened to Jeremy was one of the reasons that this book just did it for me. The twist was unexpected, something I never even thought that might be, and I may have wanted it to go a different way but that the author have just executed it perfectly that I wouldn’t want it any other way.

I love that there’s character growth and that the characters were relatable no matter what their status of wealth is in. And that this book has touched me. A person, no matter how strong she is, sometimes, she also needs someone to be strong for her so she can be vulnerable and be human.

This book made me cry a lot, but it also made me think, and guess and speculate of who perpetrated the accident and how it happened. And of course, I haven’t forgotten, this book has also sexy and hot scenes. Hot as fuck. My favorites will always be with Silas.

I have expected differently because of the previous work I’ve read of this author, but I am just honored to read this novel. To Sophia, brilliant! I cannot wait what’s next from you.

“Are you hungry?” I ask.
“No, just exhausted. You?”
I don’t answer. My hunger is too dark and too complex to voice.

It's universally known that the more forbidden something is, the more desirable it becomes.

A romantic suspense centred around one family; a devastation transcending four years of pain and anguish. A family set out to destroy the one woman, that loved their son unconditionally.

When tragedy struck the Bradfords, their world was turned upside down. But their silver lining was the mixed race girl, that they hated more than anything else. When Sylvie stole the heart of Jeremy Bradford, they became the richest couple in the world. Love turned their dull lives into a meaningful existence. But their love affair was short lived, after the devastating circumstances that ended their whirlwind romance. The Bradfords found reason to wash Sylvie Solum from their lives forever.

Years later, still living in uncertain anguish, Sylvie has made a life for herself and her family. Marrying and gaining the security she thrived for, she is now happy and settled. However, her true happiness always lay with Jermey. Long gone but never forgotten, she takes each day one step at a time, Living in the present and making a home for the family she created.

As her happy home comes crumbling down upon her, Sylvie learns the truth behind the tragedy and discovers her greatest enemy lay closer than she thought.

My thoughts:

At first, I was exasperated with Sylvie, because she was such a fragile woman. And I'll be honest and say I hate fragile women. I am all for the strong, independent and empowered females. However, the transition from fragile to breaking the barriers, to becoming independent, was flawlessly created. The timelines, the intricate way Sylvie twisted and turned thoughts around in her mind. Showed me how she transitioned to self actualization. I absolutely loved this. I guess we all have to start somewhere in life.

The love her husband showered on her, is what movies and fairy tale romances are made off. However, he pissed me off constantly. I felt he treated Sylvie like a recalcitrant child. Always swaying her towards his mindset, and treating her as if she was inadequate of making decisions and even having her own thoughts. Ugghhh!!! I wanted to pelt him with something. However, setting the aggression aside. He was a darn hottie for an older guy. OOOooohhh la la. Fans oneself. I want me want of him.!!

Sophia Scarlet and I (we have our own budding romance lol) started off with her first series - Absolution. She contacted me and asked my interest in reading her series. I thought why not!! And, I must say. It's been the best decision I have made to date. She has not disappointed me as yet.

Thank you Sophia for a lovely read, and I can't wait to see more from you.

After waking from an accident, Jeremy realizes that his life has changed, that things have happened while he slept away his injuries. His first thought is of Sylvie, the love of his life and he is desperate to see her.
Sylvie still carries a torch for Jeremy even after his disappearance, an emptiness inside of her constantly, wishing she knew if his disappearance was purposely or by accident. She wants to tell him so many things, but mostly about their son, the son he never knew about.
Jeremy’s family was wretched and awful in this story they literally tried to send an attorney to offer Sylvie money, to pay her off. The attorney, Silas who she eventually marries and he helps her raise her son Levi.

Her life is happy for the most part, being married to Silas and raising Levi. But that happiness will soon be shaken and confusion will become her best friend when she learns that Jeremy is alive and the bitter truth of his disappearance is revealed. What will Sylvie do now, will she follow her heart and be with Jeremy? Or will she stand by her commitment to Silas?
Unbelievable, Sophia Scarlet really knows how to pen a tale. I loved this story the best out of all the novels I have read by her, because it was so real life.

Last year I got the opportunity to read the Absolution series by this wonderful new author. When I got the chance to read her new book “Everything Stolen
” I didn’t have to think about it...

What do you do when the love of your life disappears? Everybody important in your life has left you. You’re pregnant and feel alone... Another man treats you wonderful and you fall in love. Your husband is caring and always THERE. Your life feels perfect but then the love of your life reappears... I wouldn’t know what to do in such a situation!! Sylvie neither...

Right from the start I wanted Jeremy and Sylvie back together and I loved reading their story. It took some time for them to get reunited but a nice long epilogue made up for the waiting ;) I’m giving this well written book 3,5 stars.

Oh what a book, i think its one of the rare situations, when both love interests are good guys and you feel sorry for both and dont know who to root for and to start with Silas i felt how much he loved Sylvie and Lev and was afraid to lose her.At the same time i felt sorry for Jeremy too, losing 4 years of his life, having to rebuild it from scratch, losing evrything the love of his life, his son and And ofcourse as any good book there are a pair of annoying, shalow antagonists, the Bradfords i so wanted Sylvie to just tell them all they deserve for once, they did come round in the epilogue, but still a little o late to forgive. And on the subject of perents i just loved Alisson and Charles, they were the real perents to Sylvie and did all perents shoud, even, though she wasnt, even there daughter. And lastly i just love animals in books Cute Oscar gets an extra point

“Sweetheart, I want so much more than your love. I want to get so deep inside you that you can’t survive without me. I want to be your every breath and every heartbeat. Because that’s what you are to me, that’s how deeply you inhabit me.”

Everything Stolen is a story of fear of abandonment, a story of betrayal but most of all a story of true love.
Jeremy Bradford, rich and therefor leads a privileged life. CEO of Bradford Enterprises and madly in love with Sylvie, Jeremy is very content with his life. That is until one day 4 years later when Jeremy awakes from a coma asking for Sylvie, thinking he was in an accident just yesterday.

Sylvie Solum, abandoned as an infant feels like she is always being left alone and desperately holds on to people in her life. She is madly in love with Jeremy and when he one day just disappears, Sylvia looks for him for but has to give up the search when she finds out she is pregnant and because her PI comes up with nothing.
With Jeremy gone Sylvie tries to accomplish her dream of having a family of her own and two years after his disappearance Sylvie accepts Silas Chambers, the Bradford family lawyer, marriage proposal. He helps Sylvie raise her son and move on.

When Jeremy wakes up and Sylvie learns the truth behind his disappearance she desperately tries to ignore the strong feelings they still have for each other and stands by her vows and locality towards Silas.

This was an emotional read, a really messed up situation.
Jeremy was just an amazing character. I admired his strength and determination to fight for what he felt was rightfully his and just did not give up.
Silas, what can I say about Silas. There were times I loved him and there were times I hated him. There were often situations where a suspicious picture was painted of him and he was very controlling. He was such a complex character.
Sylvie I thought was just a meek whimp. She did not stand up for herself, did not speak her mind and more that often agreed to doing things because Silas wanted it. She even did not speak up about the IUD and just lied about it.
I more than once felt like smacking her around, especially around the end.

The book got me choked up a couple of times; it's an awesome read with a sweet epilogue.

“I want you to stay with me forever. I want you to let me be your husband. I want you to let me make us a family. Let me love you, Sylvie. Let me love you for the rest of your life.”

I have read every book that this author has written and they have all affected me in different ways. For me this is the best story she has written, so far, in my view.

I was given a ARC of this book weeks ago and asked to give a review. I was excited to see what the new story would be about. As soon as I read the premise and the first 3 chapters I had to stop reading. I knew that the story was going to be heartbreaking and have me on an emotional roller coaster.

Jeremy and Sylvie were in love and were living together. Then one day he disappears with no trace. When Sylvie finds herself pregnant she has no one in the whole world to turn to, enter Silas Chambers who she marries. Silas marries Sylvie knowing she loves another man and carries his child.

What I find heartbreaking is to know that Jeremy is alive and has awoke from his coma and the love of his life is married to another man. Now what can be more heartbreaking than that.

For me, although all my sympathies go to Sylvie, I feel that Jeremy is the victim throughout the whole story. I won't say anymore because I don't want to give any of the story away. You need to read it.

I love that the author kept the story honest, so each time one of the characters found out a truth or a fact she had that character own up to the discovery. That kept the story intriguing and not full of unnecessary angst. The story has enough drama without adding heaps more deception, which would have made it drawn out and longer than necessary. The story is fast moving which I love and keeps you on a knife's edge.

This is an interracial story, Sylvie is of some Asian decent although we never really find out exactly what her heritage is. I am so glad the author did not split this story into parts that would have been pure torture. Its a whole story with an ending.

I would like to recommend this story as an excellent must read, if you believe in true love conquering all.

“His knees hold my thighs apart as he takes what is his, always his.”

An angsty romantic/erotic story with a bit of suspense, a story about a woman whose boyfriend mysteriously disappeared 4 years ago and after finally moving on with her life and getting married, her boyfriend reappears having just woken up from a coma, not knowing anything about how he ended up in that situation.

I think stories like this make us question human relationships in general, what does it mean to love someone and how do you balance your relationships with every person that you love. What happens when the people closest to you hurt you or disappoint you and how can someone decide when to forgive someone or not.

“Everything Stolen” presents to our heroine as well as the reader a very difficult situation: the choice between two very different people who are desperately fighting for the things that they want.

Silas is such a flawed and intricate character and it was really interesting to see him come face to face with the results for every choice he made. I think he represents the human part in everyone, the part which makes bad or selfish decisions and yet still has the capability of helping and protecting the people that he cares about. Seeing him try to keep the things he loves and has taken care for so long was very interesting and I wish his interactions with Sylvie were done better so we could really see his emotional struggle.
“She let me take care of her. And since then, she’s been mine, both of them have been my family. And I take care of them.”

Jeremy is my favorite character in this story, the better part of ourselves. I like the way he was dealing with his situation, even though what happened to him was completely unfair he never tried to hurt anyone but instead chose to protect and forgive the people he loved.
“I would never do anything that would harm Sylvie or Levi,”

I really liked the fact that he kept fighting for Sylvie even when she was with Silas and I admire him for having the courage, which Sylvie never had, to go after of what he wanted.
“Where’s Sylvie?” I croak out, not recognizing the sound of my voice.
I focus on her. Not the nurse, the woman I’m going to marry as soon as I get the fuck out of here.

But one thing that was missing from Jeremy is a moment of weakness, I think that after all that happened it was weird that not once was he frustrated and angry with Sylvie for marrying another man.

This moment of weakness was what my least favorite character, Sylvie, had when she blamed Jeremy (even though it wasn’t his fault) for leaving her alone, in fact she had plenty of weak moment since she kept blaming him throughout the entire book. Sylvie was a character full of denial and I cannot say that I liked the way she was acting especially since her actions were connected to the fact that she was so out of touch with her own emotions.

My favorite part of “Everything Stolen” was the suspense, it was so sad seeing how someone’s actions could change Jeremy’s life so much and the things that took place after the truth was revealed, were heartbreaking. I really wish that the plot was focused more on the mystery of what happened with Jeremy but that wasn’t the case here, in fact even though the blurb says that Jeremy and Sylvie decide to uncover the one responsible, I didn’t see them doing any investigation together at all.

In my opinion, a flaw that this book had were the sex scenes, we don’t get to know the characters very well before the first ones appear, the whole back and forth between Sylvie having sex Silas at the present moment and Sylvie having sex with Jeremy in flashbacks or a dream confused me and didn’t allow me to connect with Silas or Jeremy. It would have been better if the flashbacks were used to show how Sylvie and Jeremy met and got close and the interactions with Silas at the present moment were used to show the different emotional states he was in.

Just because a story is erotic doesn’t always mean that it has to have a large amount of erotic scenes, especially if those scenes instead of enriching an intriguing plot, they end up taking away from it.

Please Note: that even though there is a love triangle in this story there is no cheating in it.

I received an arc of this story from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4**** Stolen stars from me!!

What an emotional and suspenseful story, in many parts in this book i felt very for the three main characters at first for Jeremy who without been his fault he lost four precious years from his girlfriend by being in a coma and then for Silas and Sylvie especially Sylvie because she thought she lost forever the man she loved-(s) and that her baby will never meet his father and after four years boom she is married trying her best for her husband who by the way loves her a lot.

So many questions, lots of suspense and twists, this whole situation kept me reading with focus trying like a detective to figure out answers because the author did a pretty good job at keeping the suspense very high.

As for the complicated relationship between Jeremy with Silas and Sylvie well there were some really heartbreaking moments between those characters, it's really not easy to analyze all this and definitely i don't wanna spoil anything so you have to read it to learn more cause i certainly recommend it and besides all the above facts it has some very juicy/sexy scenes which are the cherry on top of a very tasty frosting, so yeah you should give it a try i'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed and i'm looking forward to read more from the author!!

Note for me:

Everything Stolen by Sophia Scarlet is one of those finds that really lets you remember what you love about discovering new authors.

This book was so much more than I originally expected it to be. I was having doubts and mixed feelings when I accepted this book for review because of the from the blurb obvious problem of having two guys and only one girl, which, when I add the fact of marriage to it can be a definite trigger for me.

But rest assured the author sailed around that cliff perfectly.

I never had the feeling that something was crossing the line.

I was drawn to this book because of my love of wounded and scarred characters and Jeremy Bradford surely seemed to be one judging from the Blurb.

Expecting a cliché story I was surprised that there was only little to complain in that area, while we might discuss the point of the reality of Jeremy’s waking up and his physical condition after that, the author even found some explanations for that purpose that were good enough for me to work with.

As for the actual story … well… I would not have guessed but there is actually suspense hidden here because it was not totally obvious what was going on – a small part was … yeah but that was OK.

I really liked the development of the characters and I honestly hope that this will be a series as I really need to hear more about Jim and Noah.

I could almost taste the story behind these characters while reading this book.

So I hope that the author will give us more and that I will be lucky again go read them as review copy, because I love presenting a rare gem to other readers.

Note. I did not find this dark although the I unfortunate events leading to the 4 year coma were not at all nice or legal, I wouldn't skip the book if your concerned with the tag dark being mentioned.

I love the title, it's a perfect fit for the 4 year nightmare that has become Jeremy's life. After a tragic accident and even more tragic way Jeremy's brother turns his back on him, Jeremy not only survives the accident but immediately knows he will fight for what was stolen from him.

The love of his life Sylvie, tries to find Jeremy only to be left with fears that he left of his own free will. Not only did he leave her, he left her expecting a baby. When Jereny's family sends a lawyer to pay her off, he vows to protect her from anything that might harm her. When she learns the tragic truth with she admit she never stopped loving Jeremy as well or will she never allow herself to depend on a man again? You'll have to read to find out.

I'm a huge fan of Sophia Scarlet, if you haven't picked up one of her books this is a great stand alone read with lots of twists, turns and drama to get you to the HEA.

I loved this book! It had me guessing the entire time and I didn't see why things happened until it was laid out before me. It is a love triangle but there is no cheating and I loved the way she wove that into the story. I loved how it was raw and real. Life is messy, not everything is a fairytale and sometimes you have to let life play out the way it's meant to be.

This was my first read by Sophia Scarlet and I really had no idea what I was getting when I started. Sylvie lost the love of her life when he disappeared four years ago without a trace. Left alone and pregnant, Silas enters her life, first as the attorney for Jeremy’s family – ensuring that she stays away from all things Bradford, but over the years their relationship changes and Silas wins over a sliver of her heart. But even after four years, the love she felt for Jeremy hasn’t diminished.

Jeremy has lost four years of his life to a coma. Waking up to discover that no one has known he was alive, that the love of his life moved, had his child and is now married - he has to recover and fight for what he knows is his. But he still doesn’t understand how he ended up on the side of the road four years ago and how no one found him all this time. Needing the answers and needing to take back his family, Jeremy has one helluva fight on his hands.

What a story concept! There are only so many ways to set up a romance and finding one that is different is fantastic as a reader. I struggled a bit with my feelings for Silas, because although he wasn’t perfect, I sort of really liked him – just not enough to knock Jeremy out of the picture. Solid writing, solid plot and fantastic chemistry between these two. I do wish that Sylvie wasn’t so uncertain at times. I wanted to shake her and point out the second chance she was given, how she should have learned how precious time was and not to waste a single second of it.

I look forward to checking out prior books from this author and giving them a go.

Disgusting, horrible, heroine. After this review, reading this will never happen.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
With this kind of plot it makes the author sound a little stupid. How can you blame someone for leaving you if that someone was in a coma?? The most irrotational, dumb, stupid thought ever. And writing a "epic romance " where one of the MCs is married (in this case stupid, slut heroine) and keeping having sex with the husband?? What a twisted view of romance. I'll keep in my reminders to stay away from this author. The world is already full of weirdos as it is. Don't need it in fiction.

SPOILERS AHEAD! You have been warned so DO NOT read further if you don't want to read them!!!!!

You have now entered SPOILER Territory........

OMG....I just couldn't finish this. I read up until 50% and called it a day unfortunately:( A love story people say.....hmmmmm, not at all as far as I am concerned. A drama story is more like it with a complete dingbat in the starring role!

The credit I give to the author is that this story was well written. I found it easy to follow and honestly I wasn't sure how the past vs present would be written and for me I thought it was fantastic, it was "what" was written, the execution of the storyline itself that I had a very hard time to connect with and/or enjoy.

Sylvie, dear lord, this girl needed a HUGE slap upside her head. I could see if after she finds out Jeremy is alive she takes a step back from Silas. I mean as the reader I could "feel" how much she loved Jeremy so for me I didn't get why she just kept having sex like a rabbit with Silas. I really was so disgusted, so disheartened, it made her love for Jeremy a joke I felt. Yes, I get she moved on in the time she thought he was gone for good BUT right up until he re-appears she is STILL pining about him????? I mean the guy you LOVE shows up after 4 years of the unknown on what happened and it was like no biggie, she gets "ordered" to go in the house and she DOES, I mean hell, I would have so many questions, etc..... It was just not "normal" to me, I didn;t get it and that was just the beginning of the train wreck to come!!!!!!!! Ughhhhhh, this was just a terrible train wreck for me. At first, I wanted to "look away" but I couldn't so I kept reading until I really had to just put it to rest and realize I was just done and any "happy" outcome was just not gonna appease me by the end sadly!

This story wasn't for me and that's ok because I can see it was a huge hit with most and that's fine. Everyone is entitled to his or her OWN opinion, feelings, thoughts etc and I respect that but for me this was a huge miss.

Author Sophia Scarlet, I personally think you are very talented. Your writing was great and I loved how you incorporated the past vs the present. I was kept in suspense and was hoping so badly for some of the story to have been played out differently but that's just me and my reading preferences. I do understand where you were trying to take the story, I truly do get it BUT the execution wasn't to my taste, my style and/or my liking but that's ok because that's just me. I wish you well in the future with your books and I will definitely plan to give your books another go in the future. I always give a new author to me a second chance if the first book doesn't resonate with me and believe me, it does happen, not with just you, but other authors too. You are talented and my feelings are based on my own personal reading preferences and not with you personally if that even makes sense. This is clearly a case of it's a me thing not you:)

Since reading the Absolution series, I have been a fan of Sophia Scarlet. Her writing is very sensual, with an authentic feel and her characters are engaging.

Sylvie was nearly engaged to Jeremy Bradford, before he disappeared without a trace, leaving her pregnant and alone. She married Silas Chambers, but still fantasized about her love for Jeremy. Silas is a good man, a devoted husband and father to her son. He took care of them knowing full well that he took second place in Sylvie’s heart.

Jeremy wakes up from a four-year coma and has no idea how he landed in coma. He is convinced that what happened to him was not an accident. The mystery elements are very present in this book, combined to the tragic rivalry between two men for the love of one woman.

Sylvie feels lost. She made vows to her husband and feels safe with him, but she still loves Jeremy. Jeremy is deeply hurt, he lost everything that mattered to him. He is used to always getting what he wants and is ready to fight to get his life and his family back.

This book was angsty, suspenseful, edgy and pulled me in from the first page. I love Sophia Scarlet storytelling and the way she built the suspense to its crescendo. I was less convinced by Sylvie’s character, but, overall, I really enjoyed this unique and mysterious story and would definitely recommend it to all fans of romantic suspense.

THE STORYLINE (a standalone) SOUNDED VERY DIFFERENT AND INTERESTING AND IT CERTAINLY WAS. A VERY COMPLEX ROMANTIC SEXY/EROTIC READ ABOUT DECEITFUL LIES, LOVE LOST AND LOVE FOUND. POOR SYLVIE-JEREMY-SILAS ARE FACING A GIANT PROBLEM AND SOMEONE IS NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME. IT HAD ME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT JUST HOW ALL THIS WAS GOING TO GET SOLVED AND HAVE AN ENDING I COULD LIVE WITH (don’t like unhappy endings). I GUESSED AT THE POSSIBLE OUTCOMES (it’s a little predictable) GLAD TO SAY I WAS PARTICIALLY RIGHT. YAY! SYLVIE (kind of juvenile at times) DID MAKE ME ANGRY, PLACING BLAME ON JEREMY ABOUT SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT HIS FAULT. THE SEX OH, THE S.E.X. SCENES ARE AMAZINGLY HOT, I MEAN SIZZZZZZ-LING LAVA HOT.;D

This is my first read by Sophia & I have to say, what an amazing, beautifully written one to pop my cherry.

Everything Stolen is a powerful, raw, heart wrenching story of a love lost, life altering lies, mind blowing betrayal & finding strength to overcome & ultimately survive.

Jeremy & Sylvie fell in love, the kind of insta love that fairytales are made of. The kind when you know beyond doubt that you have been lucky enough to find 'the one' & you know beyond doubt you will never ever let it go. Much to his extremely wealthy families disgust, Jeremy knows that Sylvie is his forever & can't wait to make their dreams a reality.

But life isn't fair & it doesn't always go to plan. Jeremy finds himself awake from an accident he can't remeber, only to also discover he has lost 4 years of his life & seemingly everything he had dreamed of. Focused & determined he works hard to uncover the details of the accident that stole his future & hopes with every fibre of his soul, that he can show Sylvie that her & his son's future has always & will always be with him.

It's hard to not say more without spoilers, so what I will say is that this book had me hooked from the beginning & honestly had me tied up in knots throughout. I loved Sylvie & how she had never forgotten her love for Jeremy, but at times wanted to shake sense into her too. The twists & turns were perfect & held you in suspense, as the missing pieces of the puzzle fell into place. It was heart breaking & gut wrenching - my heart really ached for everything Jeremy had to endure during his recovery, which is why I couldn't help but hold my breath & pray that his HEA was everything he deserved.

Truly loved it & I will definitely be reading more from this fabulous author!!
