Reread: I really love how flawlessly the manga can switch between past and present! Other series it feels so confusing but this one it’s just done so well!!

I am so in love with these characters and the story!! I never want it to endddd
It's hard to feel deeply sympathetic to Hydra what with her being a stone-cold killer, but she does seem to have bad luck with relationships, poor dear.
Although frankly I'm not yet seeing the appeal of Bloody Eye. One of those trio of vampires is in love with her. And maybe another was in love with Bloody Mary? Or obsessed with him in some way?
And I forgotten about Maria's anemia. Now that we know more about his background it seems like there must be some important scientific cause.
I would say this was getting complicated, but I'm reading at the same time 魔法使いの嫁 11 Mahou Tsukai no Yome 11 which is a million times as charactered.
I really enjoyed the backstory of hydras in this one, she really be falling for any human and turning them, crazy on her part, she’s literally the only reason where in this mess. Anyways besides that this volume was pretty good, I liked it, and I can’t wait to see Bloody’s return, referring to him as Mary is way to confusing, I only know by personality. Also can we talk about Bloody getting his memories back, that was traumatizing on its own for him, it just sucks that Maria or ichiro got heavily manipulated by Mary into doing him a favor, like sure Bloody is dense but like this is just cruel, actually everything done to him so far is kind of fucked, but the story is great :) The whole “my grandfather cloned my dad so he could figure out a way to die, and then when my dad fell in love he had his wife killed and son kidnapped” like Ichiro is also fucked, like talk about dysfunctional families
More Bloody backstory that leads into Ichiro telling Bloody the truth...which makes him snap. Now 'inner Mary' is in control and everything is going haywire as he goes on a rampage.
Meanwhile, Ichiro realizes that he messed up and goes to get Yzak back. Cause without his powers, Ichiro can't exactly do much to help.
On another note, we get a large portion of Hydra's backstory, including some info on the mysterious 'Bloody Eye'. Points for this story including both potential gay and lesbian couples... though I'm still on the side of 'not all of this love is romantic'. But that fluffy bit about favorite foods was precious~
This one was really enjoyable. I appreciated finally getting some backstory into the Mary twins. Normally I'd be confused with the story switching from past to present, but it was done nicely in this one.
We're slowly getting clues as to who exactly “Mary” is. We know that they were twins, but I still feel like there's something more here. I feel like there's some twist as to which one is the real Mary, and I'm wondering where that's going.
Of course, once Maria tries to shake some truth into Mary, he releases “Mary” for real.
During the Mary reveals, we also get to learn what happened with Hydra. And by this, I mean what happened with Hydra and Bloody Eye, the chick we haven't officially met in real time yet. It's an interesting revelation, and I'm intrigued by where that is going, by what happened after that flashback.
I'm also surprised by the new mix of yuri undertones with these yaoi ones. Though I'm seriously feeling the MariaxMary relationship. Especially in the extras after the story. They're so mean sometimes with how cute they are.
This series is messy and complicated and dark, and I rather love it. I can't wait for the next one.
A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much!
More of a 3.5 star rating; Bloody regains his memories with the help of Maria but locks himself away (in his subconscious?) as “Mary” gains control and runs amuck shedding blood. We learn some more about 3 other vampires as well as who they’re working for.
