There are seven Fun Day fairies and they are: Megan the Monday Fairy, Tallulah the Tuesday Fairy, Willow the Wednesday Fairy, Thea the Thursday Fairy, Freya the Friday Fairy, Sienna the Saturday Fairy and Sarah the Sunday Fairy.

Kirsty is staying with Rachel in Tippington Town for a week of school hols. Handy series in that it teaches the days of the week; activities are pretty varied as each fairy is simply responsible for making their day of the week fun. Twist for this series is that there is a riddle each day to help them find the Fun Day Flag.

Icy wind now fiercely blow!
To the Time Tower I must go.
Goblin servants follow me
And steal the Fun Day flags I need.
I know there will be no fun,
For fairies or humans once the flags are gone.
So, storm winds, take me where I say,
My plan for chaos starts today!

Spoiler Alert!

Its a fun story about the two best friend Rachel and Kristy who knows the fairy secret. Then the flag goes missing, and Felicity the Friday fairy looses her fun Friday magic. The girls tried to get the flag while goblins are trying to get it too. Rachel's grandma found the flag and thought it was a scarf, so the girls and the goblins are racing who's going to get the flag from Rachel's grandma.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

Read an indefinite amount as a kid.

Ingredients are missing so they can’t make gingerbread, this is supposedly related to the missing flag? Bit of a stretch but ok.

Very fun trying to dance around Gran while making sure she doesn’t notice the goblins.

Kirsty and Rachel were going to make gingerbread man, but they didn't have a cookie cutter. Then her grandma came over and she was wondering why the cookie cutter was not there. Then there was goblins behind her where she was resting. Then Rachel's mom was going to the store so grandma had to babysit them. Then Felicity, the Friday fairy came, and she was trying to get the scarf. And Felicity got the scarf. Then she took it back to fairy land to show the queen.
Felicity has brownish blonde hair, and she has a purple shirt that matches her boots and her leggings. And she has a belt that is purple and has a heart on it. Felicity has wings that are outlined and she has a magic wand.

This is the fifth of seven books in the Fun Day Fairies series by the group of authors who go by the name Daisy Meadows. It's a fun series, especially for young girls who are starting to read chapter books. Our oldest is addicted!

March 2012 update: our youngest is now immersing herself in this series and is reading them very quickly, too. As inane as I thought they were, I love that this series is making readers of our girls. Hooray!

One Friday evening, Rachel's Gran comes over and she has a pretty new scarf. Kristy notices that it's actually Felicity the Friday Fairy's Flag. They all go outside together because goblins are lurking around in the house. There is a big breeze that Felicity made with her wand. She was hiding on the window sill. The scarf flies behind the house. Felicity and Rachel go over and get it while Kristy shows Rachel's Gran the flowers. Felicity uses magic to make a scarf exactly like it except it's not magic.
