This is definitely a beginner level cookbook, though there were a few recipes in here I hadn't heard of before, and I am interested in trying out the whole "potato chips in a microwave" to see if it's decent. If you're big on veggies, this is a great cookbook for you. If you want your teen to learn to cook, toss this one at them and let them go to town. It's simple, concise, and laid out in an easy-to-follow manner.
No pictures, but it is a pocket sized book. Overall I like the recipes. It really is meant for college students or people who have never learned to cook. It provides information you should know about cooking meat and what kitchen equipment you need. My one complaint is it doesn't provide many vegetarian or meatless options.
