Fun book for kids, illustrations are quirky and detailed and often add to the riddle.

Some of the jokes were a bit forced and some are not PC/nice in my opinion.

But some are quite funny, and it was a good tool to use to keep my students attention while working on a crochet project in our class (I just skipped ones I didn't want to share).

This is a great book for children simply to have fun. After every page, there is some kind of riddle for kids. It is very straight forward and the watercolor illustrations are very fun to look at. It is full of riddles involving space, snakes, and bugs (as seen in the title). I personally would only use this book in a classroom to tell a riddle or two for fun. It would be great when talking about different units such as the ones mentioned in the title. Overall, it's just a combination of different subjects of riddles and can be quite entertaining!

On every page there is a riddle and the riddle’s answer illustrated in the childish way using water colors. The majority of the pages are related to snakes in some way. Unlike other children books we have been looking at, this book seems to be very light-weight easy read with seemingly no ‘deeper meaning’ behind it. Rather the illustrations and riddles are primarily used to just get the audience to laugh. This comical, light-weight read can be effective at making struggling early readers interested in reading.

Be warned that this is a compilation of jokes from 3 beginning reader riddle books by Katy Hall and Lisa Eisenberg, which I have owned at my library for years.
But Taback's illustrations are so much fun, and the format so different, that this book is worth buying. Doesn't mean the jokes are any better though....

Awesome illustrations make this picture book of somewhat hokey riddles centered around snakes, bugs and space that will be a hit with kids.

What do you get if you cross a centipede and a parrot? A walkie-talkie!

Which is heavier, a half moon or a full moon? A half moon, because a full moon is lighter!

We really liked this book, love Taback's illustrations, but I wish the riddle answers hadn't been so easy to see right away- didn't even let the kids guess before getting the answer! Kind of weird layout for a riddle book.
